Did you add any reverb to this, or is that just how good the busker sounds? I am blown away by these guitars, have to get one. Btw you play it like a master...very soulful!
@RJcur It actually sounds that good, I'd even say better in person, it took a bit of EQing to make up for the rushed mic setup so I could do it justice. If I remember right I used 2 mics. And thanks!
@MrFranciscoFidalgo Thanks a lot, I got into it and learned slide from watching a lot of other guys on youtube.
The slide has a great weight to it. Nowhere near as light as those clear dunlop ones you can find at any guitar store. It has great sustain, check out the diamondbottlenecks site, they explain what the different types of glass do to the tone.
Hey SM, do you remember the diameter thickness of your diamond slide? If it is a diamond side. looks soda bottle cobalt blue? Also did you need to change anything when you bought the busker delta, (action, nut, saddle, etc) or was it good to go out of the box? Great sound, Thanks much SM. Best cover version out there. Great timing, technique and overall feel.
@CoastalFogTV Thanks again. The slide is a "Blue Diamond" slide from diamondbottlenecks. It's 19mm internal diameter and 65mm length. They can give you options. The people at busker will actually set up the guitar for you based on how you describe your playing style, they're really helpful. They ship it with the strings really loose to protect the guitar, but set it up first. I tuned mine up out of the box and haven't taken it in for a setup since I got it, still sounds great.
Hey thanks SM. Yes, thought it might be MM strings, great strings. JP resos are also pretty good. For live shows check out the National Mac picups run through radial J48 DI, comp, slight delay n sus pedal with audio Tech 1500 mic.. Unless, where are you placing the lav mic? is it installed inside guitar? Lavs I've had real good luck with are Joe Mills and DPA 4066. Really hear the body resonance. Thanks again for responding. Hope to see more of you n your steel here on you tube. Nicely done.
Yeah, real nice playing. What strings are you using on your Busker? Sounds like a decent swampy delta guitar. Is this just the cam mic picking up sound? Very cool combo with the mudslide.. I'm sure Joe would give it a big thumbs up. To bad he's not here on you tube with this version played on the steel same as Albert Hall dvd opening menu track. If it is I haven't found it....Thanks!
@CoastalFogTV Thanks a lot. I'm using the Michael Messer National strings, the 15-56 set. It's the 13 gauge set with the high E swapped with a 15 to thicken up the sound of the slide. I think on this one I recorded with a me-66 and a lav mic, then had to EQ it to make it sound closer to how the guitar actually does in person. I find some mic's don't pick up the subtle tones of a resonator and make it hard to hear the sustain they have. I haven't seen the Albert Hall DVD, i'll check it out.
@speedRickspeed Thanks. I love how powerful Joe's version sounds. I still watch it all the time, very inspiring. I tried to stay close to it but do my own thing in a few parts.
@KeniLeeBurgess Thanks! I actually watched your videos a lot when deciding what style of resonator to buy and whether or not I wanted to get into slide guitar to begin with. I've been using the slide for a little over a year now and I can't imagine playing without it. Next step is a national. So thanks for sharing your videos too, they're amazing.
@SwiftMelon Thank you for responding. I am glad to hear you found my videos inspiring. The new NRP models that National Resophonic is currently offering are excellent instruments sold at a very good price. I bought the Triolian model when it was first introduced for $1800. Enjoy.

Does the slide feel heavy like a steel one?
You have the smoothest resonator and playing on youtube man!!!! I'm very impressed!
