That's the way some conservatives are, they value the profit margins of very rich people over the life or death health issues of a very large number of people.
The trading is asbestos with countries like India which lack safeguards for workers... is like the arms industry. You are dealing in death and horror.
In India and China the occurrence of deadly respiratory diseases is of epidemic proportions.
I am deeply ashamed and apologetic on behalf of all Canadians. Despite widespread protest from various individuals and groups in Canada, the Stephen Harper Conservative Government refuses to do the right thing, choosing to put economics above morality and human decency.
Harper says: Hey! we just produce the poison, and put it on the market. If people want to buy it, that's up to them. I don't normally use the word evil - but on this issue...... evil.
Everyone watch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, May 12, 2011 episode. There's an interview by their Indian correspondent of the jerk in Canada who is exporting Asbestos to India; the creep actually says to the Indian Interviwer: "Indians are used to pollution, so they get used to it". Can you imagine how insulting that sounds to the Indians? As if they can "get used" to toxins and deadly carcinogens like Asbestos? Please watch the segment; it's unbelievable.
