  • Did the surgery work ?

  • Howd you get video in a nose?

  • @DachshundLover33 A "scope". Laparoscopy, Like what they use when they take out your gall bladder, appendix, etc.

  • My allergy doctor mentioned about the tissue enlargement due to allergy, pollutant, etc. And this is what he said to me: patients have been operated on numerous times and their blockage still remains or recurs if their allergy is not controlled. Hope all is well and people with ENS can get better through the "tissue engineering" development program, in years or hopefully months to come.

  • I just had a turbinate reduction surgery, the result is actually great (up to this point). And I was thinking, if the surgeon has removed too much of the turbinate tissue, why don't we use stuff like afrin to enlarge the tissue or to narrow the air passage (if the turbinate is still intact in one nostril)?

  • Whatever your doctor says, don't reduce tour turbinates unless they are really oversize and can be reduced to a Normal size. DON'T try to reduce normal size turbinates in order to improve breathing. The problem relies elsewhere, chronic sinusitis or deviated (anterior or posterior) septum. When the turbinates are reduced bellow their normal size - and no matter how much bellow - the feeling of lacking air restriction is very uncomfortable and can't get used with it.

  • Thanks for sharing all these information. now if any one have the clue. who takes this seriouly in INDIA? any surgeon in INDIA who does this surgery?

  • look at gknarayana he might be able to do a modified youngs procedure for you. It might help with some of the enormous suffering.

  • also amitshahc besides gknarayana if you have the funds fly to america and see dr. houser

  • what is modified youngs procedure? is it successfull, effetive? where can i found the tutorials about it?

is gknarayana is same as i can found the information on google, that he is somewhere in banglore, india?

  • Thanks alot Doc. BTW, how effective can this surgery be at allieviating the symptoms of ENS? 30%? 50%? 80%? Thanks!

  • check out my video.just click on justme785

  • thats a very bad surgry it gives empty nose and more problems

  • I suffer from ENS for 23 years now. The "doctor" who did this to me when I had just turned 20 has almost ruined my life. And the worst thing is nobody believes you, they tell you you're a nutcase. I did not enjoy one single normal breath in 23 years. I warn everybody not to do the OP, unfortunately its still done so much.

  • breathing and the mind are interconnected. These doctors say youre nuts because they arent interested in understanding the real risks of there surgery. They dont have to deal with the mess they created. They say youre nuts and go on with there practise. Its cognitive dissonance and group think but it stems from the fact they dont want to understand. All these ent doctors see these patients in the office but they write them off.

  • okey, now seems you understand the topic so what would you do to bring a change? actions please.

  • If you can't breath, then what else can you do?

  • treat the thing which causes stuffiness.. it's a chain thing. ask me in private. i will quickly draw you the thing but you will need to find a good specialist by yourself.

  • you think you cant breath now wait till they mess with your turbinates and experience suffering. So many people have committed suicide, and live a tortured life. I never breathed from both nostril and it was no big deal. Now aftter my turbinate surgery i suffer everyday, i would give my arms and legs to be able to breath the way i was before the surgery.

  • no, he is asking what else can be done other than going under knife if you suffer from stuffiness

  • the thing that it can be prevented by learning, because other treatments exist that dont permanently dissect the tissue and this is very important to point them. and in many countries no one cuts with knife i am surprised that in canada they still do! this is fairly rich country and i was unnable to determine the whole thing for more than year! i was obviously awared that the surgery went wrong since the first day packs were removed and i complained to him but he said that i looked fine.

  • yes evengy the ent doctors are not interested in understanding. You tell them your heart is racing since the surgery they dont want to look at your heart see a cardiologist? what does turbinates have to do with your heart? You say you cant concentrate they tell you see a neurologist, or a psychologist, whats breathing have to do with concentration. The ent community as a whole is not interested in understanding, its an industry and turbinate surgeries is what they do.

  • dude, i know all this, see dr. houser and prepare your wallet

  • Jesus guys, i've only registered to tell that THIS IS VERY SERIOUS COMPLICATION. I ENCOURAGE ALL THE DOCTORS TO LEARN AND CHANGE THE TREATMENTS AND STOP DAMAGING US! MY LIFE TURNED PURE HELL SINCE THAT TURBINECTOMY! NEVER CUT OUR TURBINATES, NEVER!!! WHEN WE PUT TOGETHER AND COME ON STREETS TO CHANGE THE POLICIES WE'LL BEGIN TO PUT YOU IN JAIL FOR THIS! AND TELL THANKS GODS THAT LAW EXISTS NOT TO KILL, YOU DONT IMAGINE WHAT IT IS BREATHING WITH SO MUCH PAIN AND HOW MUCH IT HURTS THE WHOLE BODY!

  • yes evengy, these doctors destroy peoples lives, and they have no interest in trying to help them after. Instead they get angry at the victims of these turbinate surgeries. Dr. houser is one of the few ent doctors actually trying to help the situation.

  • ive posted on several videos promoting turbinate surgeries. My comments always get deleted. I guess this is how this mess happened in the first place. ENT doctors choose to ignore the evidence. I guess that way they go to sleep at night.

  • well not all of them but fauquierent, and sweetcaroline60 delete my comments and some others. People do you research before you let these butcher damage your turbinates. Thank you dr. houser for your work.

  • stick together peach, you need to see dr. houser, he can help you and is one of handful who is acknowledged about the treatments and whole thing. i thank god i discovered him.

  • Dilson1:

A bluring effect was added to conceal the face of the patient, during the 1 or 2 seconds the camera zooms out. I know because I blured it. That's all.

The video is original and presents a new and innovative surgery to treat a very debilitating and difficult to treat problem known as "Empty Nose Syndrome", which I hope you never have the misfortune to suffer from.

  • I can tell it's photoshopped because there's pixel's and i've seen alot of noses in my time

  • fuck i think i have this. i live in canada and im 18, free medical???

  • you ent doctors have it good now, you have got insurance, and the insurance industry has the best lawyers. So you can destroy peoples lives and not even glance back. But one day you will get to the end of your life and you have to answer god for your sins. Hell is a real place. Repent and try to help people. Learn how to do this procedure. Go study regenerative medicine and use your surgical skills to help these tortured patients. Money and prestige dont mean jack in the end.

  • tray at less to take him to a small claim court. thats if no lawyer want to take your case. be careful you must go to an ent and let him write on your file that you have empty nose . then ask for a photo copy of your file which is your right. keep in touch hopfully you can get good amount out of that pig called doctor. i feel soory for you , by

  • I notice there are many more views here then people who are talking about there struggles with ENS. Hey all you ENT doctors out there why dont you listen to peoples stories, about how you left these peoples lives in a state of torture.

  • thank you dr. houser for your work. Many of your colleagues do not want to admit how dangerous it can be, touching the turbinates. I have suffered so much since my surgery, and i have had "conservative" therapy outfracture and electrocautary. These doctors that are removing patients turbinates should be thrown in jail with the key thrown away. I have had so much suffering since the butcher touched me, I would give all the money in the world to be able to be like how i was before the surgery.

  • why do they do this and what are your symtoms now that you had this done ive been wanting my nose fixed because its deviated but i dont want a empty nose

  • i have difficulty concentrating. I feel an uncomfortable sensation constantly. My nose bleeds. But the dryness is torture you can wake up at night, screaming for mucous. Your body knows something is messed up, and it needs mucous. Your heart rate races. Since the turbinates affect the pressure in your alveoli. So your less efficient at getting oxygen your heart has to beat harder to compensate. Since your heart rate is beating fast you are in an excited state(sympathetic state).

  • in this sympathetic state, its the opposite of being in a deep relaxed state. Take deep breaths, do meditation and do yoga you will feel more relaxed more balanced. Your emotions will be even. This is the opposite of that. To add insult to the injury, the ents dont want nothing to do with you and after they destroy your life they blame you. On top of that its extremely hard to sue these guys. They protect each other. And you are essentially against there insurance companies.

  • Don't worry. Most sane ENT's have abandoned that archaic procedure. Getting a deviation straightened out will not give you ENS:) Grill your doctor pre surgery to cover any other risks.

  • Yeah dont worry, like me. I went in for a deviated septum surgery and the butcher cautarized my turbinates. He didnt do the "archaic procedure" but i suffer everyday since the surgery and i would give all the money in the world to be like how i was before the butcher put his hands on me. Also why are the ents that remove the entire turbinate still allowed to do it, why arent the other ents testifying against there colleagues. I grilled my doctor about the risks and he lied about the risks.

  • Judging from your volume of posts on ENS videos, you seem like a whiner. This surgery can alleviate ENS quite dramatically for some, yet you sit here and bitch and moan. Hmm

  • oh i see jking, first you say dont worry about developing ens, even though people end up developing ens in 2009. Just google empty nose syndrome. Then when i disagree with what you wrote, you say even if you develop ens you can have implant surgery so whats the big deal? even though people still can suffer immensly even after the implant surgery. Then you call me a whiner for telling people the truth about the real risks. Do you care about truth at all?

  • Jking has a point. I have talked to you personally Peaches, and all you seem to be interested in doing is sensationalizing. Yes you are suffering- but so are others. And many with way less turbinate tissue left than you. If your going to educate people, then have some decency about it.

  • Yes i am interested in telling people the truth of what can potentially can happen. Jkings insults and you saying i am being indecent wont stop from me telling people my opinion. Can you give specifics of where i was indecent? If i was indecent i will apologize, and if you cant give specifics to where i was 'indecent' you will take away your comment. I wont hold my breath. Im sensationalizing ens thats a real load of crap.

  • not that i think it will make a difference but baileylush for the record i have never said that a deviated septum surgery will cause ens. I have noticed you said that lie on that empty nose forum. Im assuming you made that mistake because i talked about turbinate surgery and ens on septoplasty videos.

  • I distinclty remember you replying to Jking, saying "yeah don't worry... Just like my doctor told me". And all she/he was referring to was just a septoplasty, without a reduction of any sort. Maybe I misinerpreted this as you saying be cautious of ENT's in general? If so my bad. But yes, to be completly honest I don't jive with he way you present yourself. I'm sorry you suffer, and that you probably suffer more than I. But I think that there are better ways to dissuade reductions.

  • Dr Houser you are a light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks for everything that you do. You go way beyond the call of duty and we all sincerely appreciate everything you do.

  • Dr. Houser,

Thank you so much for your work in raising awareness of ENS and helping ENS sufferers. You really represent the best of the medical profession. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dr Houser,

Many thanks on behalf of all ENS patients where ever they might be. I pray and hope that your great humanitarian work on behalf of ENS patients will serve as a model for more ENTs that will hopefully get more involved and interested in understanding ENS and helping ENS sufferers.
