i just got my hair extensions from salon , went for just the length but came bk with a full head costing me £455!!! anyway my hair was black but dyed red and they didnt have the right colour and looked quite fake so i had to get another app to dye which cost me an extra £80, as far as i know a few hairs did come out during the process but nothing major whilst having it dyed.....although i have been advised to use ''racoon'' shampoo and conditioner £15 a bottle which are designed 4 extensions.
i'm considering getting professionally done hair extensions which are fusion (glue in) bonds. I have shoulder length hair now, and want to about my bust. My question is: I'm not actually too too into hair care, like I do not use dry shampoos or anything, I normally shower and the like, apply leave in conditioner, and that's it. If I want to get hair extensions, should I wait until I'm better prepared, have more experience with my hair, or..? Long comment!
Question: can you accidentally brush them out? How easy do they tangle?? Can you dye them? Starighten them? Hopefully this isnt rude to ask but around how much did they cost?
@HannahHeartStruck They cost about £1 each and you need about 150 to do a whole head of hair. You shouldn't be able to brush them out without a lot of pain as they are bonded to your own hair. Some do come out, that's natural and some come out as they grow out and loosen. I don't know what the dye would do the bonds, so ask a stylist for advice.
The brush you mentioned though, isnt that a soft brissled brush? And doesnt that make hair frizz? My last question is glue vs woven in? (Sorry for all the questions) But thank you for all your help :)
@HannahHeartStruck The Balmain extension brush is not soft bristled at all, it just has two different lengths of bristle so that it doesn't catch the glue and pull on it. I haven't had woven in extensions but I have heard that although they don't have any glue, your own hair is very tightly braided which can put considerable stress on the roots.
im getting extensions sown in next saturday from liverpool but my mum is a qualified hairdresser and beautifician so she knows how to sew them in so that part is fine , its the colour match and length i have no idea about as my hair is two toned !
Great clip! Ive always thought that washing and brushing your hair would be hard with extensions. Now that I know otherwise, Im seriously tempted to get them.
i have my done just wutha a knot (no glue at all!!!!!) and is humam hair for almost 3 years no damage the technique is from Brazil and very few people can do.I just love it!!!!
The extensions look so natural!! Great tip about the lemon juice im going to try that, i use dry shampoo sometimes but i don't really like it- its a bit chemically!!
Cool extensions! However I heard that bonding the hair with glue is VERY unhealthy (if u get extensions fitted regularly) I had some a year or so ago but mine were sewn in! MUCH healthier & helps ur hair grow! my stylist made 3 really small braids (cainrows) horizontally across the back of my head and sewed the extensions in! they lasted 3 months!! I went to an Afro-Caribbean Hair specialist to by my human hair extensions! they did a great job matching to my natural colour! no glue no hair loss!
Also, i bought my extensions in 1 long weft. it was around a meter and half long and it cost me around £15+ depending on the length of the hair ur going for! they are reusable around 10 or more times as they are sewn into the braid of your natural hair so no glue no loss of quality! its the healthiest way to have extensions fitted! because with Glue you have a risk of natural hair-loss and so forth is this is done regularily!
very good tips for combing hair. thx a lot and the hair extension looks so much natural.I like it a lot and I wish you all the best for the wedding.....Im pretty sure that you will be a beautiful bride....well i could see the glow on your face already in this video!!! :) :)
I cannot get over how beautiful you are and your accent is so breath taking. I am not a lesbian but wow....I can just imagine what men think of you! God bless you!
I have the fusion extensions in (keratin tip). i'm not a fan and prefer the brazilian technique because brushing my hair is a terror! but, it is nice to have an extra three inches to curl.
Hi Jas, if u can put some videos for the deep set hooded eyes, I hve eyes that dont fit on the standard types u've explained. My eyes r very deep set with prominent brow bone that hides all my lids so I dont see any make up i put it on. This gives deep crease n makes just eye lashes popping out from the deep eyes. I tried some of ur tech but doesnt help much, I find it very difficult with my eyes, wld be very grateful if u can help me. I can also post my eyes picture if u cld help me out with.
Hi Jasmine, it looks like your real hair! Very pretty.
I have long hair... it's down to my rear end :) and that is the same way I comb mine, starting from the bottom and working upwards. I shampoo and condition nearly every day, and only blow dry the front. It's been long like this for well over 20 years! I trim it when the ends frazzle. I look forward to seeing your pics of how you fix your hair and make-up for your big day!
The extensions are so lovely on you - not over the top, very natural and soft. Enjoy your videos so much. Whenever I click to watch your newest video, I always shocked how beautiful you are - amazing eyes. Could you say what you did for your eyes on this video? Would love to use this for a day look. Thanks so much.
Congratulations, you look lovely. That's horrible that children in developing countries are being exploited for their hair. Do you know where I could get more information on this topic? thanks =)
You're welcome, by the way can you believe that I went into the MAC store in Oxford (in Debs) for the first time the other day?! lol - I think I'm going to be a regular from now on, they were really nice in there, and it's so much nicer seeing the products in person rather than ordering from the website. xxx
I have fine hair and they have been good for me, avoid them too high up and too far near the front of your head (so not past your ears) or they catch on clothes and can show.
ew, glad I didn't get those then! Thank you for replying. I got a load of samples of extension from various websites before I chose the American Dream ones, it's the only way to really be sure you're getting the texture and colour you need for your hair.
Seriously, my friend got them and I was like :x when I saw them. They were so weird looking. I love extensions :) I buy a package of just the wefts without clips attached and then sew the clips on, then layer them so they blend with my hair. Some people knit, I sew extensions :D

EssenceOfHope 2 years ago
I have fine hair and they have been good for me, avoid them too high up and too far near the front of your head (so not past your ears) or they catch on clothes and can show.
oxfordjasmine 2 years ago
depends on the kind you get. Sew in and gluing are most popular, but the easiest for fine hair is the fusion method.
