Elantra, tiburon and others used 4G61, 4G63, 4G64, 4G68 over the years. That is why when you watch korean videos there is a huge amount of 03-08 Turbo 4 cylinder Tiburons running along side exotics
Also Hyundai used 6G72 - eventualy reworking it into2.7L 280whp possible NA

Thats right I've been selling hyundai's for four years, I drove the proto type 3 years ago and could not wait, but I did, Finally I leased a nords gray 2011 auto 2.0t and WOW! this car does what I want it to do.It comes down to if you can accept the car for what it is , it may work for you .Just know that Hyundai owns their own steele plant,and not only makes the machines to build their cars but makes them for mercedes and a few other guys! they just don't advertise it.
I prefer this over a 370 ALL day. The 370z first is a 2 seater, its V6 and the parts are hella expensive. Genesis is 4 cylinder and can put out a great amount of power a affordable cost. Either way a TWIN turbo for a 370 is to much in MY opinion

yeah as soon as someone cracks the ECU and an access port or open source tuning option comes out these things are going to be awesome. Imagine if the DSM engine actually had a well balanced chassis. This car WILL be the next drifterboy sensation like the 240sx... someone just has to crack the ECU.
i know from experience just removing the airbox and putting a cone filtle on it gains about 10 or so hp
the one i had with stock air box would break torque into second hit mabe 4 or 5 thou then drop with the cone filter it would brake torque from first to second to third and sit at 5 thou
i read about this car on one forum and it said that it had a stock engine and stock clutch and was pushing about 1.2 BAR of boost ... I'm still trying to figure out the brand name of that exhaust, damn it, nobody knows lol :(

@rearnakedpoker Most likely near flat 13's, if he has wide wheels to grip, if not.. low 13's.. but his wheels + tires looked legit! Still good enough to beat a G37S/370Z or 3.8L Genesis, give the E92 M3 a good run. I'm hitting mid-high 12's on my Evo X w/ 365AWHP/355ft-lb on stock turbo + injectors. I will say that torque is reading pretty low though, maybe they did it to preserve the clutch, who knows. Lol, but I enjoy 2.0T's better than V6's, not biased.. had a G35 myself. Turbo just makes HP!

The 4G6x was in the elantra and the Genesis is no different as it uses the bottom end of the same engine in the Evo X with some differences. Long story short, the Genesis is a capable car from a company that has come a long way. I would rock a Genesis coupe turbo any day of the week

@kaosracing386 he probably didnt have internals. so far it just says an upgraded turbo. stock internals are probably a pretty good low compression but not low enough to have bigger numbers. he probably isnt looking for big numbers either so he probably has it at low boost. he might have changed compression maybe to something that isnt much more lower then stock but these numbers are definitely good for mid-high 12's which it may be what he wants. you have to admit if its stock block thats good.
Damn word..I need to research that..3.3l are they gonna add some type of varible valve timing, or thicker cam lobs. Some how make up more power for the loss of that 3.8

No, the genesis is using hyundai's very own Theta engine for the 2l 4cylinder and for the V6, hyundai is using a Lambda engine, also developed in house. The 2l 4cylinder has a turbo sourced from Mitsubishi

I can get those through my dealer, and it will not affect warranty one bit. The first question I asked the parts dept at the dealer was whether modifying it would affect warranty. The answer is no, as long as the failure requiring warranty is not due to the modified parts failing. CAI and exhaust rarely cause failure.
Not if an engine failure is not due to those parts failing. In other words, Hyundai will warranty their parts, you'll have to rely on the aftermarket parts' warranty. Hyundai will still cover all their original parts, they will not toss out the entire warranty just because you have some modded parts. If the engine failure is failure on a Hyundai part, it's covered. If it's from a modded part, it's not.
@rswarrior65 The trick is the car co will blame all failures of their parts on your modded part even if unrelated. I use to work for mitsubishi and have seen them blame engine failure on after market rims. Be very careful when modding a car under warranty

its stock everything just an upgraded slug . probably stock boost maybe a few psi more . remember this is on a stock , untuned ecu . if you look at the dyno chart it will tell all info about the tuning . if i had to guess i would say this pull was made on about 12 - 14 psi . but did you notice the really nice low end torque spike

If you want this, buy a stock 2.0 and use it to commute, these engines are letting go ~350 whp give or take, there's no reason to even BOTHER.
depends on what you mod... intake and exhaust will not void warranty...if you buy power x programmer then u you can always program ECU back to stock when need to take the car in.
So it is possible to have 230whp without voiding your warranty

@kaosracing386 he probably didnt have internals. so far it just says an upgraded turbo. stock internals are probably a pretty good low compression but not low enough to have bigger numbers. he probably isnt looking for big numbers either so he probably has it at low boost. he might have changed compression maybe to something that isnt much more lower then stock but these numbers are definitely good for mid-high 12's which it may be what he wants. you have to admit if its stock block thats good.

I dont know why everyone is hating on hyundai...The motor that they run come from mitsubishi...4b11s are in the genesis. But you know what wont anybody say anything about Mitsubishi and the EVO or the beloved 4g63 eclipses. Because they kick serious ass. Theyve actually been sharing motors for a while, so the genesis is not a bad investment its a tuners car. that dyno CF: better say uncorrected... as NO correction is applied to a TURBO otherwise your numbers are falsely high by a % depending on SAE correction. 8-16% based on the air and where this was done.

i got a question, dat i was woundering if someone could answer, from the specs of a 2.0 inline 4 turbo genisis, it seem as though it might be the 4g63 motor found in evos and dsms, im not sure wat the motor was but i looked at the specs of the car, and it has 210hp inline 4 16valve dohc turbo and runs a 15.2 like the dsms had, so does this car possibly have the 4g63 motor?

No, the genesis is using hyundai's very own Theta engine for the 2l 4cylinder and for the V6, hyundai is using a Lambda engine, also developed in house. The 2l 4cylinder has a turbo sourced from Mitsubishi

Using the same block is not the same as using the same engine you fucking moron.
The same block just means it's the same 2.0L block that just about any other 2.0L car uses. It's already been PROVEN that this engine can't handle the same power as a 4B11T. The turbo is smaller, the internals are weaker, the heads are shit, the end.

The engine that was developed along side the "4B11" was the Theta II engine. The 2.0T is the Theta I, not the Theta II.

Huh. So much as touch the car and Hyundai will void the warranty? Really? When Hyundai SELLS their own line of performance parts such as cold air intakes and catback exhausts? I can get those through my dealer, and it will not affect warranty one bit. The first question I asked the parts dept at the dealer was whether modifying it would affect warranty. The answer is no, as long as the failure requiring warranty is not due to the modified parts failing. CAI and exhaust rarely cause failure.

Not if an engine failure is not due to those parts failing. In other words, Hyundai will warranty their parts, you'll have to rely on the aftermarket parts' warranty. Hyundai will still cover all their original parts, they will not toss out the entire warranty just because you have some modded parts. If the engine failure is failure on a Hyundai part, it's covered. If it's from a modded part, it's not.

@rswarrior65 The trick is the car co will blame all failures of their parts on your modded part even if unrelated. I use to work for mitsubishi and have seen them blame engine failure on after market rims. Be very careful when modding a car under warranty

its stock everything just an upgraded slug . probably stock boost maybe a few psi more . remember this is on a stock , untuned ecu . if you look at the dyno chart it will tell all info about the tuning . if i had to guess i would say this pull was made on about 12 - 14 psi . but did you notice the really nice low end torque spike

They destroy their warranties because they're obsessed with buying a slow cheap car that was hearalded as a "tuner car" since its conception and "mod" it with BS shit that doesn't gain them but .1 or .2 seconds in the 1/4 for almost 2K$
If you want this, buy a stock 2.0 and use it to commute, these engines are letting go ~350 whp give or take, there's no reason to even BOTHER.

depends on what you mod... intake and exhaust will not void warranty...if you buy power x programmer then u you can always program ECU back to stock when need to take the car in.
So it is possible to have 230whp without voiding your warranty
