always get it pierced with a needle. a gun has a much much greater chance of shattering/cracking your cartilage. and plus, you'll have this ugly hard bubbly on your ear.

I understand how you feel, but my brother has a tattoo on his arm of a cross with our mother's name because it means a lot to him. I have three tattoos down the back of my neck. I only get tattoos that mean something to me. I won't just get a tattoo because someone else has it or because its cute. But, you are right. Too many tattoos do look bad if they don't have any meaning to them.
