He also did Cigarettes and Alcohol for some album maybe 6 or 7 years ago. I remember hearing it on WXRT in Chicago and I nearly shat myself. If I remember, it was very overblown "old pop" style.

I used to really dig "The Rod" when I was a wee lad and as I got older I kinda forgot about him pretty quick. This cover made me remember why I liked him in the first place, he's got a very unique voice. Cheers to Stewie for doing complete justice to one of my favorite Oasis tracks. Bravo.

Rod the Mod used to be one of the great voices in rock 'n' roll. As a solo artist he seemed to get cheesier the further away he got from Jeff Beck and the Faces but every once and awhile you get glimpses of what might have been. Rockin' Chair is what he could've done. Thank you Noel Gallagher for making that happen and this must be Rod's way of apologising for Cigarettes & Alcohol (dreadful).

@psj3809 There's a version of this song on a tribute cd by a band called the itch from accrington. on detour records recorded in the late 90's . Got released in japan as well as over here. Not as good as rod's but worth checking out. Great times!!
