I haven't heard of lesbians committing suicide from bullying. Only gay boys who were bullied by the big guys. In a male dominated environment, being masculine, strong, and tough are what everyone strives for; those kids were bone of those things, so they were the odd-ones-out. Easy targets, if you will.
Those gay kids would nor have been bullied if they had just manned up. They were pussies, making them the weakest links. The weakest links are the ones who get bullied. They could be easily bullied, and thus they were. If they didn't act like the gay kid on Glee (the worst intsrpirtation of homosexuals ever) and acted like men, they would not have faxed the problem, or at least faced it less.
I love how all the atheists on Youtube are whining about how they are being martyred and victimized and persecuted by God-believers, when it is clear that if you are a Christian making videos on YouTube, you are either voted down automatically or flat out ignored. This guy is making a valid point - NO ONE deserves to be bullied no matter what their race, orientation or lifestyle - but this guy's Christian so his point is invalid, right? AmazingAtheist doesn't have this many haters, I wonder why
I remember when I was a kid & being bullied & thinking as a kid, well, at least as an adult it'll come to an end, right? Boy was I wrong about that! Here I am an adult yet I still get bullied. My Dad gave me some advice. He says,"It doesn't matter what those bullies say or think about you. What matters is what you think about yourself & to ignore them."Since then I've focused on that, as well as loose weight, creating cartoons, writing stories & just being positive.
u actually made sense for once and i do agree with you on bullying, no one should be bullied, EVER but that doesn't justify the fact that ur a jesus freak dumb piece of shit.
@AmazingBeliever The issue with young homosexual teens is a specific issue bigger than the general category of bullying. It's an issue that needs to be specifically targeted and supported in order to make other teens understand it and accept people for being people. It's also a fight to be won against conservative media, religion and people like you who believe in archaic myths that propagate hate. You seem like an intelligent kid, and I don't blame you for being indoctrinated, but grow up.
I'm an Atheist. I don't know why people are calling you a retard. What you say is true - all bullying should stop.
It's not exactly the most profound and thought-provoking video on Youtube, but there's nothing offensive in it, and you're clearly not a retard. At the worst, you're just uninteresting.
The debate on homosexualty is irrelevant. The speaker in this video actually makes a profoundly important point which the people commenting here seem to be ignoring, choosing instead to pick on a few words here and there. Look at UtterlyFractious' comment below. He's compaining about the use of the phrase "All of a sudden", a well-known figure of speech! Why don't you stop argung with this guy & support his idea that the tragedy of these gay people's deaths could actually highlight ALL bullying?
"All of a sudden" - yeah, because homosexuals definitely weren't brutally persecuted for generations before a few countries in the world decided to up their game. Can you hear yourself?
'bullying' is a modern term for one person dominating another which is entirely natural all the 'victims' of bullying are lucky to still be alive, evolutionarily speaking the weakest would be left to die or just been killed by others and that goes for gays who would be of no worth to ancient society since they had no desire to reproduce all this is in our blood stop pretending it will change there will be leaders and followers w out modern medicine all you weak kids wldnt have made it this far
"Bullying has gone on and we never did anything about it" - Yeah, maybe that's just the way America is. World leader in almost everything you can think of, and yet it manages to be so backwards in so many ways.
Indeed, no-one deserves to be bullied! This video, along with the comments, has really made me think. Maybe I'll write a paper on it and post it somewhere later. Anyhow, great work! You see to the heart of bullying and stand up against it well! Stay strong man!
The homosexual individuals were bullied because they were homosexuals, the same principle is not currently compatible with 'general bullying' because you want it to be. In short, heterosexuals are simply not bullied because they are heterosexuals. Why? Because it is innately conventional to be a heterosexual. (This is debatable as some denote that we are all born bisexual - this claim has a lot of evidence.) They are wearing purple because homosexuality is innate. It's like being..[cont.]
On a related note maybe you should speak to more homosexuals, bisexuals etc. I think you would benefit from that experience. The vast majority don't believe homosexuality is a choice or can be changed at will.
@ICanFlyHonest That depends, but I do understand as well!!!! Because most of the homosexuals, bisexuals, etc. give me DIFFERING REASONS for WHY they're that SEXUAL ORIENTATION!!!! ;) Some but NOT LIMITED TOO ARE: molestation (or sexual abuse as a child), broken heart(s) from opposite sex relationships, curiosity or simply for the "pleasures"(exploring options), trendiness, receiving attention from the OPPOSITE gender, sexual/gender identity (especially if the person hangs, or grew up hanging...
@chukwuemeka23456 I don't think I have ever heard any of these explanations, and I was once a relatively active member of the lgbt society at my uni. I got to speak to a lot of people. Do you really think someone would claim to be gay, bi, trans to recieve attention or be trendy? There are lots of other ways to do that without the potential of ostracisation that still happens today. And in all honesty I am sick and tired of people using the old chestnut.....
@ICanFlyHonest I'm NOT USING a CHESTNUT to MAKE a CLAIM; I'M STATING (from EXPERIENCES and ENCOUNTERS WITH "THEM") as to WHY they were GAY/BI/ETC.!!! ;) SOME told me that about CHILD ABUSE; OTHERS told me about BROKEN HEARTS; OTHERS told ME about their CURIOUS NATURE(and TRIED to ENLIST ME IN IT); AND "OTHERS" TOLD ME how IT'S SOMETHING they CAN'T CONTROL, and THEY'VE FELT since PUBERTY(basically, or WHENEVER they STARTED "GETTING" these DESIRES)!!!!! ;)
@chukwuemeka23456 Why are you typing in capitals? I'd appreciate it if you didn't. I can read perfectly well without your emphasis and it gives the impression that you are attempting to shout down the internets at me :p. I'm just saying that in my experience gay, bi or trans people I know including myself would fit into the last category you mentioned, except that I've never felt any other way. I've always felt like this and hadn't actually realised it wasn't the "norm", should we say...
@ICanFlyHonest Ok sorry, I typically use caps for emphasis (especially when I'm around ASSHOLES on the internet...and when people misunderstand me on PURPOSE...not to say that you're doing that)!!!! I'm not down playing that fact as to "why" you're gay/bi/trans, but explaining too that there are MULTIPLE reasons for people being/or becoming the sexual orientation that they are!!!! Some (like you) have told me (via internet and real life) that it is who they are, they can't (won't) change it...
@ICanFlyHonest ...and it's SIMPLY who they are!!!! :) Others (who were gay/bi/trans) have told me different stories!!!! Some have told me (via internet and real life) about stories of sexual/child abuse, broken hearts, curiousity, and other factors!!!! I'm NOT SAYING that you fall into any of the previous catagories that I mentioned, but I am trying to say that they are DIFFERING reasons for why people are gay/bi/etc. , and I think one's sexual orientation goes BEYOND science!!!!!
@ICanFlyHonest I don't think science could explain why certain people exposed to the idea don't turn toward gay/bi/transexuality, and why others NOT exposed it, turn toward it!!! I don't think science could explain, with genes for example, how somebody with NO aspect of the so-called gene (or polygenic trait) could have homosexual desires, and how somebody with VARIOUS aspects of the so-called gene (or polygenic trait) could NOT have any have homosexual desires at all!!!!! ;) Sorry if i...
@chukwuemeka23456 Well the beauty of the YouTube comments section is that everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Thank you for explaining your postition. Although I disagree with you on a number of points I appreciated the time you have taken to reply.
@ICanFlyHonest Well thank you for not being an asshole!!!! And you're correct, everyone is entitled to their own opinion!!! ;) You have you're own opinion about homosexuality based on YOU'RE EXPERIENCE as one; and I have MY OPINION based on MY INTERACTIONS with them.
Though, I would think that someone is CRAZY and FUCKED UP (excuse me French), if they DISCRIMINATE based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, nationality, maritial status, income level, and other miscellaneous factors about US!!!!! ;) And THOSE "BITCHES" (pardon my French again), should DIE and go to HELL!!!! :)
Even though you might have the better testament to homosexuality (because you're gay/bi/trans), I still believe that there's more to it, lol!!!!! Peace, and may you have a good life!!!!!! ^^
@chukwuemeka23456 Hopefully there will be more investigations into it in the future because there isn't an amazing amount of literature on the subject of what causes it. And thank you, you too :)
@chukwuemeka23456(cont)until I was old enough to learn what the distinction between straight and gay etc was. I don't think you made the last option clear in your first reply to me. It just annoys me somewhat the idea that we're this way because we have been abused and down trodden. Yes, there are some people that have been the victims of great wrongdoings. but there is nothing I have come across to suggest a link, as I've said in my previous comment. At present it's just one of many hypotheses.
@chukwuemeka23456 (cont) that a bad thing happened in someone's life and that made them gay. Bad things happen to all people at some point, and it's a horrible thing. However, there is definitely not enough scientifically valid information on the topic to link that to becoming gay.
There has been help (albeit inadequate) for people being bullied for years but it's only just opened up to include help for bullied homosexuals. As besidemymind said, you really didn't need to make a video on this. I can see from your previous posts that you feel homosexuality is "unnatural" so maybe you think that including every other case of bullying will somehow overshadow a day that homosexuals have been fighting for for years.
