BTW, Abhayankar has not reached the levels of musicianship, scholarship or creativity to be called a Pandit. He is merely a graduate, of whom there are a dime a dozen, not a Professor!
@iwannasee101 You're being awfully condescending to other hard-working young musicians like Abhayankar (who seems to be regarded by many other than you as a Pandit). Instead of levelling vague criticisms of his "musicianship and creativity", and claiming he's a "dime a dozen", why don't you specifically mention where you feel he could improve?
@asciiguy1 It's funny you say this, because many people don't...This seems to be a very strong culture in India, to belittle anyone who isn't a grandmaster. This is most visible in Lata's example. Every female singer is considered rubbish by Lata's standards. It's stupid. There have been many female singers whose voices sound just as nice to me as Lata's does. And they NEVER specifically mention how they could improve. Because usually the people who say this are amateurs themselves.
this bandish is sung by Lataji, Panditji and Pt Abhayankar..all three have a different style,... each having a class of their own ......but of all three Pt Abhyankar's rendition is soothing ..........each time its heard it gives immense pleasure..thnxs for uploading
