Faiz wrote this gazal at the sad occasion of "Fall of Dhaka" while landing on Dhaka Airport. Dhaka is the capital of Bungladaish (Previously known as East Pakistan, Oh yes, a part of Pakistan). So as a part of a delegate visiting a place which was part of his own country but now different country. At this particular moment of landing he expressed his feelings in this very gazal. A reflection of history using excellent and superior form of romantisim. Yes, This is Faiz.
Faiz Ahmad Faiz , the creater of this "gazal", is very difficult to sing. Very few singers had the ability to sing "his poetry" After the best "Iqbal Bano", a very classical and talented female singer of Pakistan, Nayyara Noor is the ONLY singer who sing so beautiful with all the excellence. As "Faiz " used "CLASSICAL" symbols of poetry to represent or point out certain facts of life but with extreme "romanticism". An an intellectual combination of romanticism and "realism", a unique one.
Zinat Noor, this clip suits the ghazal and has given a new dimension to it. Really very nice job accomplished, congratulations.

History of this Gazal,
