  • why doesnt nasa esa russians japons and all of these great countrys unite to do a moonbase on the moon

  • after one or two manned surface missions, they will "find" life under the surface....

  • 2020 is the nearest return mission!?

    THAT SUX.

Im going to be 60years old when we finaly land on Mars.

Im 30 yrs old now, and maaaaaaaaaaan, this plane SUX.

We cant pull this off within the next 5 years....REALLY?

  • @popceed No, we can't pull it off in the next 100 years. You'll more than likely be 160+ years old when and if we land ourselves on Mars. That's my forecast. Wait and see; well I guess you won't be able to that end 'cause you'll be passed away along with everybody else who is alive today and everybody who will be born during the next several decades.

  • @IMattchewB

    Wrong.

  • @PICLex Wrong? You may think it'll be longer than what I'm saying, but I'm still guessing it'll be within the next 200 years or so, but you might be right; it may very well be 500 years or so, who knows.

  • @PICLex Well, I don't really think it's going to be longer than, let's say, 150 years max, from now. I'm sorry you do.

  • @IMattchewB

Are you sorry i do ? lol. No i think it will be much sooner..

  • Instead of the cold war, and the recent wars, all the money spent to that is lost forever, and it only brought death.Without all that we could already be on mars...But no one knows how to invest the money, the only thing that people can think of is war.

  • mars airship

  • This is how science should progress, no need for pitiful nationalism involved.

  • I thought we did this already!!! stupid war spending....

  • Well NASA needs to team up with ESA after they spent the entire budge of the next two mars missions on the MSL. Man that thing represents everything that is wrong about NASA atm.

God Speed, volts wagon in space!

  • What???! NASA and Esa are actually doing something worthwhile???

    Well that's a first...

  • looks like Arizona.

  • can canada come to? pls

  • @PepperRoni20 I believe since NASA=North American Space Agency, includes canada and the united states

  • @austincmcm no NASA is National Aeronautics and Space Administration... Canada has the CSA, but we have worked close before (like the canada arm for the shuttle) so i imagine whatever NASA's up to will help with. Glad to see this announcement was made, now we can make real progress instead of fighting over a budget

  • @austincmcm sry for double post, but ya were in just found this on the CSA's site: The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) announced today that it will share leadership for a new science instrument that will probe the atmosphere of Mars in search of biological sources of methane, and consequently, signs of life. The instrument, known as MATMOS (Mars Atmospheric Trace Molecule Occultation Spectrometer), is a partnership between Caltech, the CSA and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

  • Pity you guys didn't do this 30 years ago! Oh wait, no, it's not your fault - more the fault of governments who thought it more important to have trivial wars... (One trillion dollars have been allocated for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan alone!) You should have lobbied...

  • i think they hide the truth from us i guess there is living beings on mars also the moon

  • Awesome to see such high level scientific colaboration!

  • We need to go to the moon first.

  • @32937isready even IF the moon landings were faked (which i guess is what you're implying) it is much more interesting to visit mars.

imagine if there were signs of microbial life on mars (which there are none on the moon) that would mean life in one way or another might be almost anywhere in the universe. i think that would be pretty awesome!

screw the moon and build a resort there later =)

  • @32937isready again?

  • Good to see some much needed collaboration!

  • What about the Aurora programme's first human mission to Mars at 2030/2033 ?

  • (nitpicking mode activated) Where I live, it is considered impolite to say "me and my partner", say "my partner and me" instead. Is this just a regional etiquette?

  • @HansTheAtheist If you want to get nitpicky it would be "my partner and I".

  • we have to go to the moon first

  • @NzNexus2 We already been to the moon

  • I'd be sooo excited to see a manned mission to Mars by 2020 :D

it would capture the imagination of the world in a way the Apollo missions simply could not. It really would be humanity's first step into the wider universe

and I bet billions would be inspired (some of which would step up to be the next generation of space explorers, engineers, and leaders)

  • science should fall before war because the faster we can get farther into space the faster we can find other habitable worlds and colinize, or even find intelligent life. push for no war and more science like we should have been doing since world war 2, in my opinion anyway

  • @osiris6669 forgot to add, thumbs up if you agree

  • @osiris6669 You mean war should fall before science

  • @InfinityWard312 yeah i musta typed that a bit backwards, im suprised i had the msot thumbs up ont atha dn nobody noticed that lol

  • this is exciting!

just take some money from the military budgets in the EU and US and send the money to NASA and ESA. think about all the money wasted in iraq and afganistan. check this: costofwar dot c o m

imagine what NASA and ESA could do with that kind of money....

  • Finally!)

  • Knowledge is power, great job working together...

  • Was the first landing on the moon a fake?

I saw the rocket goin' up to the moon, but I'm not sure if there were pilots inside.

  • @GETTOBOMBER No, they were not faked. Yes, there were astronauts inside. There is a Modern Marvels episode that will allay all your doubts. I will make whatever efforts are necessary to put that episode into your possession.

  • It'd be cool if a Man mission will happen in 2026 as a decade of new discovery on Mars :P

  • YAY NEW SPACE RACE!!!! nato vs china russia :))))) who will win??

  • @britishareawesome69 who do you think lol...

  • @MrWolfengard really? idk.. i would think it will be awesome to see us on mars..but do u think russia would get there first?

  • @britishareawesome69 sarcasm bro, of course NASA/ ESA but more likely a international crew will make the journey.

  • great video, keep it up looking forward to all that you do

  • about time :))

  • Hi 5 for the link up with ESA, Good Luck Nasa. Congrats on your new found friendship with Russia, heck id love to be your friend aswell - LOL

  • i bet china or india will have the first man on mars.

  • @Clllllllllllllll I'd find it more likely that the crew would be international, with all factors considered.

    Lovin' this video anyway.

  • @Clllllllllllllll Chinese people don't know how to fly :D And people form India are scared of space shuttles cause they think its some form of magic :D

  • @Clllllllllllllll that laughable. china has barley put a man into orbit

  • Awsome video!

  • @BuschTukkerMan

    I agree.
