  • Great background info.. Great song. This one I think withstood the sands of time better than Evelyn Thomas' High Energy, becaurse it is less orchestral and more dance.

  • Love her voice!

  • I finally understand the depth of this song LOL....! In 1983 I was only 12 and had plenty of time!.....;))))

  • How can I lose?

  • Love it!!!!

  • la preuve tjr du bon disco et j'en ais encore un tres bon

  • this is one of my favorite songs!! nice vid too lots of muscle hunks..YAY!!!!

    Merci Mr Levine!!

  • This Song Was The Shit Back Then, You Go Miquel!!!

  • I saw Miquel Brown sing at the Cabaret Club in Bournemouth, '87 and she refused to sing this song because of the prevailing sexual health crisis. Did every other track of hers...but not this one. :o(

  • Nightingale, Thorpe Street, Brum, '87. Heard this as I entered the club for the first time, terrified and full of expectations, to see a fountain in the middle of the bar area and THE most beautiful man I'd ever seen - Chi-Chi, the doorman. Then I heard these lyrics...and I relaxed! Never looked back...or up! LOL

  • This is the ultimate "Get over your ex-boyfriend" song. I love it!

  • I love Ian Levine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This Rox!

  • Thanks IAN! This was when Music was music, and people knew how to dance..God, those were the best of days 1983...Miguel Brown was number one in my book, and always will be..

I have been searching for this song for over 25 yrs...Thanks...This was number one for months in all gay bars in America..

    Thanks IAN REALLY!!!!!!!!!

  • Just back in Brum (live in Japan) and clubs that used to play this great music are all housey-techno cr@p. Anyone play HI-NRG oldies any more? I used to DJ this "gay" music in straight clubs in Brum in 81-83 before I hit the world. This was perfect for Bangkok where I was when it came out. I play this stuff in Japan sometimes, tough to programme it in. Techno, trance and sh1t - give me a song I can sing along to, with a HUGE beat any day.

    Alan "Gibbo" Gibson

    Faces, Birmingham 81-83

  • Ian Levine, Ian Anthony Stephens, Paul Parker, Patrick Cowley (RIP), Megatone, Power, Lime, Canadian Unidisc obscurities, Bobby "O", Record Shack, Funky Dunc (RIP), Tony De Vit (RIP), The Nightingale.... memories... another message coming now, but it was too long to send in one :-)

  • Clássico Gay! Show de Bola!

  • This song should of been a number 1 hit for Miquel Brown. i'm surprised it never crossed over to the UK. Great work Ian.

  • I love this song and we had more fun back then!!!

    music was better!!!

  • totally forget about this song until i heard it on magic radio tonight. classic.

  • Oh my Goddddddddddddddddddd...without words. I was serching this song for years...perfect song gay

    =)

    THANKS....REALLY REALLY...

    Kissessssssssssssssssss

  • miquel brown is my favourite all time high energy artist, she is one of original queen's of high energy, i am huge fan of hers

  • When I was young...............the best of the disco hi energy

  • its so GAYYYYYYYYY... i was 21 yo in mexico, we used to dance at Monicas DISCO, it was the first gay bar in Guadalajara, in that time

  • great!!!

  • I love this song of the 80s

    THX

  • Nice to see starpilots carring the hi nrg backing on there hit in the heat of the night

  • Nice ?????????

It's a sickening theft, all down to some evil company who stole it and used it as a house loop. If I had the money I'd sue them and shut the bastards down.

  • Shalom,

Ask the community if you need support to sue these goys.

  • Where have all those dance all night, days gone off to ? Talk about flash back to the days....

  • Another classic gem! I was a kid (9 years old) but I had the coolest aunt who would blast the 45 on her record player(she was 22 at the time) plus they would play it here in the nyc area (ktu).

  • I love this. As Mr Levine says, in spite of being a bit hit around the world, in the UK it was confined to the underground world of the few gay clubs we had - a real act of rebellion just to be in them, kids today don't know they're born (omg I can't believe I just said that!). Anyway, it takes me straight back to those pre-Aids days. Am I the only one left alive?

  • We had a brill D.J who opened our eyes to this great music at youth club discos when we were 13 yrs old. Don't think it's camp at all, just gold music. I'm alive with ya.xx

  • ahh man...great song..

  • We need music in the clubs to sound uplifting nd happy like this was again, NO MORE tribal !!!

  • Wow She is the mother of 80's popstar Sinitta, and she is apparantley the step sister of 70's and 80's singer Amii Stewart.

  • Yes I remember the song, crazy song, crazy time's, crazy shit.

  • the best....it did start house music????

  • this song still rules what a great ride the 80s were. wish they were still here..josie 313

  • awsome song i still love it ,, always will brings back great memories. josie 313... the 80s were the shit...

  • this song made going to the clubs like a night in heaven ,, what a hell of a time josie 313

  • What an awesome disco song! One of my all-time favorite gayest disco songs!

  • I fell in love with this song after playing it on Stepmania.

  • ditto

  • This fabulous tune was a huuuuuuuge hit

also at discos here in Japan all over. Of course I used to dance to it very often, when I was a very young 20something... Good memories. Many thanks for posting of the nice video!

  • Hello from Tokyo. This tune was also a huuuuuuge hit at discos all over Japan BITD. Of course I used to dance to it very often, when I was a young 20something... Many thanks for posting of the nice video!

  • I saw Miguel Brown perform this live at a gay disco New Years Eve event (Dec 82 or 83) at Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. There were about 1500 men at this event...great fun. Oh, the theme of the event was taken from the title of the song, "so many men...so little time". (That was near the end of the disco era.) Great song, great performer.

  • Wow, sound like fun, 1500 men, Miquel singing, San Franciso in the early 80s. lucky you, great life!

  • this vid is hot. the guy in tight black pants is a hot dancer.

  • Pure Hi-NRG sound.

  • I was a DJ at THE dance club in San Francisco when this record was a hit. No matter how we mixed it in, the regulars would all scream and the floor would get so full you couldn't dance, just bounce around.

  • I started going to heaven when it opened, it was church and you were god.........thanks for such great music, mixing and thanks to the lighting guys.

  • Thats my motto. So many maen So ltlle time. Think that will be my myspace theme song. We knew had to party. And yes I have a myspace page. LOL!

  • Brings back lots of memories of working in Heaven in the 80's. I also remember Ian bringing in a follow-up to this to the staff it was "Countdown" by Kofi & the Lovetones and saying he used one of the tracks from "so many men" on it :-) - why that stuck in my mind I don't know.

  • great song, one of the best ever....yeah...thank u brown .....

  • Hi Ian, love all the posts. Why don't you release all the record shack titles as acapellas? Think of it. The songs are brilliant uplifting pure club music. Times have changed. Imagine, all the 'ladies' singing this today. The Record Shack revival is surely only around the corner. Anyway I'm still living my own life and no one can change me ...

  • This reminds me of my late school days, I just love this tune to death, Ian Levine makes such classic tunes. I danced my backside of to this in my bedroom !!

  • This brings back so many memories of my late school days , love this song to death and to Ian Levine.... keep making music I love your stuff

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • Brilliant tune :)

  • Brilliant tune :)

  • Just another classic from the greatest decade music ever saw,

    LONG LIVE THE '80s

  • God I wish there was still an 80s club in London to play tracks like this, and all the other great Record Shack material. What an anthemn

  • If you're lucky they sometimes play HI-NRG in G-A-Y in Heaven on a friday but it's usually really commercial 80s which annoys me.

  • the album cover should have won a good design award

  • hold on, lemme go fish out my shistle, cowbell, and my fans.

    DAMN......memories of the 80's.

  • mmm...28 yrs has been gone.. time too fast..

    viva 80's

  • So many men, I don't want to waste my time!

  • Is there an acapella or instrumental version to this Ian.

  • On the flip side of the 12" was the instrumental.

  • Too right j2tharome15 mate i have this on my ipod also. And i'm as straight as it comes!!!!!!!!

  • Good workout video! 5, 10, 20, 40 ahahaha!

  • juan esta muy buena la musica de este video sobre todo el ritmo, y la combinacion de sonidos, por eso es uno de los mejores videos de high energy en especial para hacer ejercicio, y bailar a todo lo que da.

  • OK....so besides the work out equipement and the black chick , who ISNT gay in this video?

  • ...and your point being ??

  • This may be a gay anthem, but as a straight guy, this song is always bumpin on my iPod.

  • As a straight guy myself I think there should be something for women as well, and here it is. Great tune and us straight guys are fine with playing it. I agree.

  • I have a female friend who this song describes perfectly. She's a mom btw. But she gets her freak on.

And me, a few years ago, well the same song could go for me (gay male). I'm stable now though. 16 years!

  • WOW RARE 80'S SUPER GEM XD

  • dude !!! let me just say that you are the fuckin man because this was the shit back in the day (STILL ROCKS THE CLUB TO THIS DAY) and now that i know the story behind where people doubted you and say you couldn't SELL CAUSE DISCO WAS DEAD, the fact that you prove them wrong makes you an even bigger influence when i tell these labels about my own music when they think something wont work

  • Oh yeah, me too! The gay 80s rule!

  • those were the days

  • This is one of my favourite songs and it was a big hit in France when it was released. Evelyn Thomas with High Energy and The Weather Girls with It's raining men had huge success too.

  • Ian, 'So Many Men' was S-U-C-H a gay anthem. Perfectly executed and sung by Miquel. Really a juicy peach of a song.

  • absolute classic. LOVE IT.

  • A interesting song from Miquel Brown many known in Brasil from the 80´s. A classic! and Miquel Brown is a ebony godess of evory in this clip! A sensation, and full of sensuality.

  • Mr. Levine, you are a legendary dance artist! It's a shame that "So Many Men, So Little Time by Miquel Brown and "High Energy" by Evelyn Thomas are only known by CLUBBERS in the 80s. Those two songs are probably 2 of the best dance songs EVER recorded! I only hope that more oldies stations play these two songs in the future. AWESOME TRACKS!

  • esta cancion me pone a bailar como loco ,me enciende, me prende,,ya no hacen musica como esta, musica de discotec yo recuerdo mis 80's como ninguna otra epoca esa si era musica pero solo recuerdos...

  • She is a genius, what a wonderful song!.

Songs like this make me feel gayer, I love it!

  • Wow Wow Wow, I grew up with this music, 80's SF, Troc, End Up.. Awesome times!!!

  • Einfach genial, totaler gay-sound und Erinnerungen an die Discozeit der 80 iger Jahre in Köln....

  • Yes Sinnita is her daughter but doesnt seem to have the same edge!

  • これって男色家の歌なんですか?

    なんか有色の女性と、出てくる男性は白い人ばっかですよね。全然何も分からず大学時代よく聴いていた記憶が・・・

  • Mr Levine! you are a legend. This music was far ahead of its time. I remeber being in Heaven in 1984 and this came on. I also remeber the record shop " record shack" in Soho. This song brings back so happy memories. can i just confirm Miquel Browns daugter is Sinnita?

  • Yes....Although Sinitta is not a patch on her mother.

  • Yes Sinitta is her daughter!!!!

  • Mr. Levine - you and I have been to a LOT of parties together. I was a dj for over 15 years here in the Detroit area, and whenever I played a floor-filler I always take note of the mixer and writer. And even though we have never met, you have given me such joy over the years and I wanted to thank you for all of the happiness you have brought into my life. My passion for music and your passion for perfection have been one hell of a team over the years. What time do the boys come to town? ;-)

  • Wow I thought she looked like Sinita, this song is great. The countdown bit seems like it's heading into 'It Raining Men' but i'm glad it doesn't. How can I choose?????

  • The bomb!

  • This was the kick off song at Q.C.'s, Montebello, way back. When this shit came on you knew the party was on and the good times were about to roll.

  • What's with Miquel Brown and her daughter Sinitta with the word "so". Miquel's biggest hit was "So Many Men So Little Time" and her daughter Sinitta's biggest hit "So Macho". What a coincidence.

  • Looks like her duaghter Sinitta a lot.

  • yeah, way superior to all the remakes!

  • the more i listen it the more i like it...

    just great!!!

  • This is still one of my best loved HI NRG tracks .

  • i agree 100% about lyric, the song is impecable, SALUDOS ! desde bogota colombia

  • Love this song this is 80s British singer Sinitta's mother(so macho,toyboy.

  • WTF? Working out in a steam room? Smoke everywhere..

  • Miquel appeared on Celebrity Wife Swap in the UK last week which featured her daughter Sinitta. Glad she is still around and ok!

  • fabulous gay anthem! Thanks for posting!

  • Ah yes...Gay sex in the 70's...for those of us still around to remember!

  • Love this record! Talk about memories. I first heard this on a dancefloor in Paris and it remains a classic.

  • Aint that the truth Miquel... But I'm trying to squeeze as many in as possible... or Im trying to sqeeze into as many as possible...LOL.

  • Hell...me too!365 days a year one man everyday....i'm getting there.

  • Unreal! Never even knew a video existed for this! Thanks.

  • Can't believe this song is still so popular after like twenty something years it was released...it truly is a dance classic. They still play it like crazy here on NY's 103.5 KTU.

  • The guy you keep seeing in the black vest is damn sexy, I'll tell you that man!

  • Do you realize never give up boy that this video is from 30 years ago? They are more then likly in there 50's now these guys.

  • Ohh yeh! I'll take two please :-)

  • A Classic. Never seen the video before! Miquel looks and sounds just like her daughter Sinitta!

  • This was my ultimate HiNRG song. I always bought 12" versions and this one is my pride and joy. I actually bought 2 copies...one to keep in case anything happened to the one I played.

Sinitta is very like her mum in this video.

    Cheers Ian

  • Wooooo! *dances around the desk*

  • This is like a dream where Donna Summer sings lead in a Village People video. And who knew a song about bein' a Ho could be some dam danceable and fun! Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyy !!!!

  • I love this song. Wasn't even born when it was released, but it remained a favorite on some french radios when I was a kid, in the 90's. Since then,I bought the 45...Disco wasn't dead then, and it still ain't! ;)

  • i dont remember this song at all.

  • Well it sold two million copies.

  • I came out to this record and this music scene all very exciting!

  • Wonderful Song!!!!! A Classic!!! Love The New Version By Donna Williams Off "Yesterday & Tomorrow:The Ian Levine Songbook"!!!!

  • still got the original on vinyl.

  • i love this song i remember when i heard it for the first time i couldn't get it outta my head. i tryed finding it on cd but i can't find it yet :((

  • Try to find The Definitive Record Shack Collection on E-Bay.

  • is that ian levine who saved the orginal daleks, like the best?

  • Been trying to track this track down for years! Since the 80s in fact - I had the title wrong - thought it was "so many DAYS"! The perils of dancing in too many ear-bashing discos...

    At last, we are re-united!

It's a crime this track never charted in the UK.

I feel a cover version coming on by someone like Kylie...

  • Search for "Ian Levine" he wrote and produced most of the music from those disco days and has a fantasic youtube website bringing old and new artists together again.

    Fantasic track here too.

  • What a sweet beautiful feminine voice on this gal!

  • Why aren't all these classic videos available on a remastered DVD? I'd buy it in a minute!

  • That is a very long story without a happy ending.

  • Give it time. Truth, beauty, and art will out.

  • one of the absolutely top HI NRG classics!

  • great song! but I thing nowadays it's SO FEW MEN SO LITTLE TIME!

  • I was overjoyed to, at last, have the honour of meeting Miquel Brown at the launch party for Ian Levine's latest CD/DVD "Yesterday And Tomorrow". Miquel is indeed the most lovely of ladies and it was fantastic to be able to have two, quite lengthy, conversations with her, covering a multitude of subjects.

  • i'M NOT EVEN GAY BUT I LOVE IT TOO! reminds me of mis-spent youth in Barcelona clubs x roxy

  • Can someone please tell me if Miquel Brown is mother to Sinita of "so macho" fame???

  • Yes of course she is indeed.

  • Many thanks....V

  • Miquel came to our fabulous launch of the "Yesterday And Tomorrow" album last night. She looked radiant, everybody loved her, and she took photos with all the artists who have made brand new versions of her hit songs.

  • i been looking for this song for a long time thanks for posting.

  • Great song and video...brought back memories when I was young and would hit the gay clubs.

  • THE GAY ANTHEM

  • The ALL TIME ALL TIME BEST

  • Mr Levine 1st of all congratulations, but I think most of your productions must not have to have covers, I mean, let us all of the contemporary adults remember the original hi- nrg music, even the young ones like my 12 year old son enjoy them.

  • Our brand new version, by Donna Williams, is even better than the original. You can see a clip of it on the trailer for the new album, "Yesterday And Tomorrow". Just click on my name to go to my YouTube page, and it's the main video on there right now.

  • This song is so gay, but It bring me back so many memories....lol

  • I think I played this song a 100 times back in the 80;s :)

  • Muito, Muito, Muito Gay! Maravilhoso!!!

  • This song shows that in high energy music there was great voices too.

  • Just wait till you hear the amazing new version, by Donna Williams.

  • This video/song reminds me alot of "Physical" by Olivia Newtown John.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!

  • I was one of the 50,000 who bought it in the UK and still play it !

  • Ilove this song bro. this is from the greatest 80's my youth time , woaa it's bring me great memory when i saw it

  • Hey Mr. Levine!

Could you tell me when this song was released, who directed the video-clip for it and under which label it was released? It's a great video! Reminds me of the Weather Girls' "It's Raining Men"... Just a few years later such lyrics would have been impossible to perform. Talk about timing...

  • 1983

    Record Shack Records

  • Do you have any information about the director of this video-clip? Thanks a lot for the information

  • We've just redone it on Donna Williams for the new "Yesterday And Tomorrow" album.

  • Une de meilleures musiques lorsque j'etais au collège en 6ème! Que de bons souvenirs de copains et copines

  • Oh God ! this song drives me crazy... I was so young and cute. Those words were made for me, yeh Baby, so many men, so little time !! From Paris, to Rome and N.Y., I was doing to all kind of parties, it was GREAT fun ! Here I'm, 42 now and still crazy when I listen to this song...
