Interesting how one's perspective evolves over time. A light-skinned brotha, I came up in the 60's with parents more aligned with Martin than Malcolm and used to be proud of the fact that my fam was so "multicultural", now all I see is plain ol' euro-worship masquerading as "free" choice. SoCal is a cultural smorgasbord and I've tasted many different flavors over the years. Damaged? Oh, hell yeah, but far from confused. Now, it's all about my own. Better late than never.
