@jondeoleo i don't see it that way, really. he could shade 3-4 ppg, and average 2-3 assists more. he has deng, noah and boozer and shooters like korver and slashers like brewer. kobe has a ton of talent around him who can take anyone one-on-one. but if wade was in chicago, he'd probably be mvp. he deserves it

@jondeoleo unreliable ball handlers yes, but the do make shots though. except brewer, he couldn't hit water if he fell off a boat. but he, noah and deng are great defenders, they contribute more than enough on that end to make up for points they don't score, which deng also does

Melo vs. LeBron shows off fundamentals against freak athleticism. LeBron is the better athlete, but Carmelo has a better understanding of basketball. He's got better footwork, a post-game, and the smoothest shot in the game. LeBron is an athletic monster and can impose his will on games, but he doesn't do it with the ease that guys like Melo can. LeBron is the better all-around player right now, but once his athleticism diminishes? I dunno, could be a toss-up.

@OsanaiE See the difference however is that Kobe wasn't an athletic freak his whole life. Kobe had a really polished game from early in his career and just kept building upon it. Hell, I think Kobe might be the most technically gifted player ever. He's got almost every offensive move I've ever seen. LeBron's got time to develop, but I don't know how much longer he's gonna take. I've been waiting for him to further develop for the last two years and haven't seen much tbh
