Listen to Linda talking about 'her' business that 'she' runs. What a crock of shit. It's her husband's business. He built it, he gave her a job as CEO after it was already established. Since he gave her the job the product and shareprice have plummeted. She's a moron. Even WWE fans hate her. Being married to a billionaire does NOT qualify you to run the country. It's disgusting that she was able to buy the nomination at the expense of infinitely more qualified and deserving candidates. Fuck you!

@judoyodan health care isn't a right. it's an insurance. saying it's a right is like saying car insurance is. diseases like cancer and heart disease are on the rise because of government subsidization on corn and soy, GMOs, big pharma, lack of basic nutritional education, and the backwardness of the diets the federal govt is advocating. the very regulatory bodies in govt such as the FDA and USDA are filled with big business associates.
@judoyodan pharmaceutical companies even WANT mandated health care bcuz they know it'll drive up huge profits for them. see the problem with the majority of ppl is they're losing focus on preventative medicine. if they think popping pills and one for all treatments are gonna one day solve all diseases then they're in for a whole lot of misery and wasted time and money. health is a right but put it in your own hands instead of relying on the govt bcuz all you're gonna get is disappointment
@judoyodan how is that a clear lack of understanding of the issue? and yes it is a clear comparison. an insurance is like any other insurance. you get into a wreck, car insurance covers the damage you've made. same thing if you were to suddenly get a heart attack, health insurance covers. car insurance offers lower premiums if you have a better driving history. health insurance offers lower premiums if you have a better health history.
@judoyodan Furthermore, what you're saying is that you want to make govt owe you something when it has nothing! if you want managed care by the govt you need the govt to take away something from someone else. i just don't understand how owning health insurance is a right. that's what people said about houses and that's why the govt. dipped its hands in the housing market to create Fannie and Freddie and artificial low risks and yatta yatta and look where we are now.
@judoyodan also the US does have basic health care and that's Medicaid and Medicare, and those entities are now going bankrupt. and you think other countries' health care systems are so much better and yet you fail to realize they're resources are spreading thin and comes with still a hefty price tag. france does health care by having a mixed system between public and private, yet the Obamacare mandates an opting in of the public option.
@judoyodan a recession's going on and yet he wants to spend even more tax dollars by the govt when we desperately need more jobs in the private sector? where's the logic in that. finally, no i don't want to see people needlessly dieing but you fail to see it's not because our country lacks welfare. it's actually a LOT bigger problem then that but then i'd have to get into a much longer discussion about medicine and food but believe it or not, a lot of the blame also goes to the govt.
@judoyodan I have the right to not go hungry. I have the right to have decent shelter. Socialized health care does not go far enough. There needs to be provisions for food and shelter in the health care bill. After all, food and shelter are directed related to a person's well being. I don't think this is too much to ask.
@subtlest1 A right is that which is part of the human condition regardless of time, place, or social conditions. Food, shelter, and other (positive rights) are not rights because, if you were alone on an island, it would be impossible to guarantee them. You may think you are entitled to them because they are "good" things, but you certainly don't have the right to them. You have "negative rights": that is, the right to be free of molestation and coercion from others.
i'm gonna use tecmason's definition. socialized health care is a service that's backed up by the government. now if you were trapped on an island, it would be impossible for it to be guaranteed. you can't just say you're entitled to health care just because it's "good". you can argue that if there is no socialized health care then how are the poor going to be taken care of. if you make that argument then you fail to understand the actual roots of poverty.
@judoyodan i'm arguing for both. central planning never works or are always inefficient. and you haven't convinced me how is it considered a right. are you just stating your opinion or is there some kind of law you can point to that says socialized health care is a right in the U.S.
@blablasometin8, central planning seems to work for national defense.
I say basic healthcare should be a right from a moral standpoint, and an economic one. This format is very limmiting for arguments sake, but suffice it to say that a healthy populace is better off than an unhealthy one. It is federal law that noone can be refused emergency care. That care is 8 to 10 times more expensive than preventative treatment would be. A functioning society cannot let people die or suffer needlessly.
@judoyodan Government health care doesn't create a healthy populus. From a moral standpoint, forcing someone else to guarantee your "right" to a service is unconscionable.
@duke1duke1, you should get better acquainted with the facts.
You are woefully wrong on your first statement, the FACTS show this.
And on your second statement, if you think it is immoral to give basic health care to someone in need, that's your lack of compassion talking and for you to deal with.
@judoyodan It's not imoral, but foolish to guarrantee. You have no idea how much money is currently spent on health care, we spend more than anyone else in the world. We have drug addicts who complain about "chest pain" get EKG's and a bunch of other tests done (very fucking expensive), along with a nice lortab and a hot meal and a bed to sleep in. And you have these fat fucking old people who are barely alive but their families want to keep them alive for the disability check.
@judoyodan I posted two things one didn't make it. That's just to emphasize how overburdened we are already, we have no room to take care of everyone now, and even if we did, why should the US government be the ones to take care of them? It's not an issue of whether someone's compassionate enough to give some in need health care, it's about whether the government should be responsible for the medical system. BTW I though you were very self-righteous in your post talking about his "compassion".
The government has no fundamental right to take your tax money and pay other people for work unless it has to do with protecting your life, liberty and property.
The government also has no right to take your tax money to pay for services for those who cannot afford it. Healthcare is a service, it's labor. You do not have a 'right' to someone else's labor. Your health is your responsibility.
Peter schiff seems to be the only one that's really involved with this economy and solutions for it. He seems to really understand the fine details of what's wrong with it, and has simple, common sense solutions to it. I wished we had someone like Schiff for Texas Seante. Our senators are too established with the lobbyist. Peter Schiff is the best choice.
Schiff's explanation- Jobs come from private enterprise; Red in the middle- We need Jobs to stimulate the economy... Schiff's 5 point plan is dunking on the uneducated.... She needs to grab a pen and paper to learn.... Also she made the claim that a deli owner told her if the health care bill goes through that he will have to close his doors because he can't insure part time workers.... She obviously didn't research the fact that the bill exempts business' under 50 employees. it has other flaws
@alansready Too bad there are too many people behind the worldwide economic crash. They WANT this to happen, so people are open for alternatives. When they are, a new government will most probably be set up. One that has more power than any government has nowadays. I sincerely hope conspiracies like the Illuminati/freemasons are all bogus crap, but the more I look into it, and the more I see society breakdown, the more I start to actually believe it. :(
Peter looks very assertive and professional. Although his message is truthful and good, in the past he has came off like a winer and doom&gloomer. However, not this time. He did an excellent job explaining why non financial intervention actually IS the solution. Self sustatining jobs independent of government will make the economy better on their own. Would like to see him bring up that the "why" is because consumers naturally govern prices and it brings power to the people/consumer back.
Do a quick Google search on Linda McMahon. She is an extremely low class individual. Moreover, she also contributed $7,800 to Rahm Emanuel's Political Action Committee.
What a disgusting spectacle the government has become. If you speak the truth, they'll kill you. The people enthroned in power will kill to maintain their power. Their power is corrupt and will continue to PREY upon the public until they are fully enslaved.
I cant believe that any citizen of the US would ever go back to work again with the present TOP DOWN structure - Fascist Supra-Sovereign banking elite slave master system of "government?". Incentives to trick them to restart the "Business cycle?" so the people can be plundered again in the future by and through a global banking cartel?
I CANT BELIEVE what I'm seeing. There are some executives that must go to prison and treaties repealed before I would go back to work.
This is no debate. I hope Conn. voters realize what they have with Peter Schiff and vote for him as the Repub candidate. He is honest, sincere and understands what needs to be done. Further, he is not interested in becoming a career politician.
The other two morons aren't fit to be in the same room as Schiff, let alone running against him.
Virtually every word spoken by that bitch and that CIA scumbag was economically illiterate. Schiff could have-and most definitely should have-ripped these clowns to shreds. We need to elect economists to office, to bloody the noses of thieving career politicians. We need to elect economists to slash taxes, end all forceful expropriation that funds unproductivity, and to end Central Banking and B-Cyc
Peter often says "only when consumers start saving can business start investing and start hiring "
Why does it follow that if people save, business' will invest ? thx
as i side note schiff will be a regular on fast money twice a week tuesday and thursday from 5pm EST THIS IS GREAT NEWS;;;and my fast money is that ratrings on these shows will explode...it's a smart move by CNBC and well deserved for Schiff. If only they had done it sooner!
The reason is because savings must come before investment. What people who don't understand economics miss with Schiff is the deeper meaning of what he's saying. The economy does not grow from consumption-it is indeed an induction towards production-but grows from saving, i.e retention of physical matter in some form more valuable than what we call it when it has been transformed, i.e. consumed capital. Understand this, know that loanable funds have to be saved for businesses to borrow
thanks....what I am really trying to understand is the actual mechanics of how savings go to business and they start investing and start hiring...I am not that smart but an explaination of this would really help me thx!
How the hell is Peter losing in the polls right now? Are voters really that blind to how important we need someone in office who has a great understanding of how economics works? I live in Chicago so I don't get to see what happens in CT. Someone please explain to me how he is not the front runner in the senate race.
I live in Connecticut and let me tell you, I think Conn residents are dumber than most of the country (if possible). It was bad here with the Obama worshipping...
both peter schiff's opponents are do disgustingly big government. I thought this might be a reasonable debate with schiff being the most reasonable and most educated on the problem, I was wrong. In truth, schiff is the only viable candidate there at all. The other two haven't got a fuckin clue lol
@Hroark7: You dumb basturd, I consider Thomas Jefferson, Ron Paul, and Schiff as heroes. You're just trying to pick a fight, you dip-shit. I'd like to see you TRY to tie me into a knot, you walking vaginal orifice! I'd transform you into a fine, jelly-like substance before you'd even get a chance.
Their ideas are very similar. I don't know who copied them from whom... But Schiff is certainly the stronger person, more vigorous, more acute intellectually, more determined emotionally to get the job done in Washington.
Mr CIA and Mrs WWE just rely on buzzwords like small business and tax cuts, peters the only one that actually knows what he's talking about and more importantly means what he says
Not one of Peter's better performances. He wasn't even ready to rebut...the mediator had to remind him. And when he started talking he sounded like a broken record. If Peter wants to win he better go on the attack. I've never seen such a cordial debate in my lifetime. It's like they were all singing Kumbaya up there. McMahon is looking like the front-runner.
@Hroark7: You're a delusional fool. You have no idea of what truth is, or was. "Federalism for the entire globe"? That's a bald-faced LIE you're putting out amongst others. You're nothing but a twisted, sick, and demented side-show-freak. Get lost.
It looks like one professional trying to speak surrounded by two amateur weasels. Peter understands so clearly our nation's problems and what needs to be done to begin the economic recovery and the other two sound like they're trying to read from a piss-poor script.
@Hroark7: Why do you continue to run away from my initial point here: The MSM is completely ignoring Peter Schiffs bid for Senate, and making it appear that only McMahon and Simmons are in the running. Don't you "get it"?
Glass-Steagal needs to be put back post-haste, interest rates need to be raised to 2% over the next 2 months and then 4% over the following 6.
People need to start saving money yesterday.
Fortunately the CIA guy has no shot. He is fucking boring and monotone. Though Linda may be retarded, she can give a convincing speech and follow outlined talking points which is definately threatening...
They cant hang with Peter. They are speaking on what they have been coached on, and Peter is speaking intelligently without notes because he actually knows what he is talking about.
My god Peter just stands out a mikle. Maybe cause im a fan and i actually know what hes talking about he stands out even more to me but despite that he still clearly stands out.
Listen to the other two zombies. Its all about small business and "credit markets" they havent a clue. Im sure their thought process is "Appeal to the people then government spin" "Small business, free credit markets"
@Hroark7: The Boomers did all they could to stop NAFTA, GATT, etc. The Fed began in '13, so you can't blame them for that. The UN in '49. Our grandparents dropped the ball, not our parents. Our grandparents were duped by the MSM! They actually believed the MSM would never lie to them, and were speaking truths. Besides, the People are never listened to. The international bankers will have their way no matter what the People want! You think Congress works for us?!?! Get REAL!
@Hroark7: You're just a paid Shill that's full of yourself. You don't know squat, and you know it. The only statement you made that was factual was that this country is finished. Your infantile name-calling tactics reveal your abysmal IQ. Put the barrel of your gun against your temple, and squeeze the trigger. The world would be a safer place.
2nd time donor from Kansas. I almost laughed out loud on Rob Simmon's first answer. Typical clueless politician blabbing about "free enterprise" without giving any specifics. Peter is the only one who doesn't exude a deer in the headlights look when talking about economic issues.
@Hroark7 Dude, don't blame an entire generation for the ills of America. Plus, the Baby Boomers weren't alive during the creation of the Fed, and Bretton Woods was negotiated by men from the previous generation! Also, Schiff is technically a Baby Boomer.
I wish Schiff would call the other two on their statism. Its subtle, but if you listen closely to what they say they are clearly big government republicans who will go along to get along.
Tax cuts are great, but only if spending is cut by even more. You cant just cut taxes and borrow the difference; you would be better off not cutting taxes at all.
Even conservatives hold onto this fantasy that the state can engineer prosperity. Schiff understands that the way to improve things is to NOT HAVE A PLAN. To undo all the things gov has done and sit back and do NOTHING. ITs very hard to do nothing.
@Hroark7: Not so. You can't make a blanket assumption like that without examining the facts. Most Baby Boomers have done well financially, but many are also on the front lines against these atrocities.
ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! CNN has left out Peter Schiff in their news coverage of this Senate run. CNN only interviewed Simmons, and McMahon. CNN left Peter Schiff completely out of any mention at all!!! They're pulling a tactic they used on Ron Paul in '08. By omission they're only promoting the 2 Shills! And since Simmons is ex-CIA, you know how the Diebold machines will be rigged!
I'm half a world away, Zealotvids; but I'll swim across the Pond if necessary to go live in America if it goes libertarian/sane. Even washing up ashore a free (even in death) man would be preferable to live in this socialist madhouse I happen to be stuck in now.
I think Schiff needs to go on the offensive. He should point out that his opponents don't understand the larger issues, especially McMan who doesn't understand that TARP in the origional form was a flawed long term bill.
I think Schiff did great in the debate but I think he needs to be a little more prepared with statistics to support his arguements. When asked about foreign policy he should say how much money the government spends to maintain military bases in over 100 countries each year. He should make note that Iran isn't the only rogue nation that is a nuclear threat and raise the question of why is it the United States responsibility to police the world. When you're broke you need take care of home 1st.
Why are they all concentrating exclusively on small business owners? What, if you are not a small business owner, then you are not worthy of their attention? That's just one sided. No wonder this country is going to the dogs.
Out of these three, Schiff is the only one who makes any sense. The other two just sound desperate to get elected.
My fellows you should not be surprised this rigging has been going on for years we are only getting aware of it because the players have gotten more powerful and arrogant so they stick it in our faces and we the people are too stupid to do anything about it elections dont matter any more.

@blablasometin8, basic health care SHOULD be a right of all citizens. Many other countries do it at a fraction of the cost we spend on health care.
Unless you are willing to watch people die needlessly, basic health care has to be a right of citizenship. There is no way around this conundrum.

@judoyodan i'm arguing for both. central planning never works or are always inefficient. and you haven't convinced me how is it considered a right. are you just stating your opinion or is there some kind of law you can point to that says socialized health care is a right in the U.S.
blablasometin8 1 year ago
@blablasometin8, central planning seems to work for national defense.
I say basic healthcare should be a right from a moral standpoint, and an economic one. This format is very limmiting for arguments sake, but suffice it to say that a healthy populace is better off than an unhealthy one. It is federal law that noone can be refused emergency care. That care is 8 to 10 times more expensive than preventative treatment would be. A functioning society cannot let people die or suffer needlessly.
judoyodan 1 year ago
@judoyodan Government health care doesn't create a healthy populus. From a moral standpoint, forcing someone else to guarantee your "right" to a service is unconscionable.
duke1duke1 1 year ago
@duke1duke1, you should get better acquainted with the facts.
You are woefully wrong on your first statement, the FACTS show this.
And on your second statement, if you think it is immoral to give basic health care to someone in need, that's your lack of compassion talking and for you to deal with.
judoyodan 1 year ago
@judoyodan It's not imoral, but foolish to guarrantee. You have no idea how much money is currently spent on health care, we spend more than anyone else in the world. We have drug addicts who complain about "chest pain" get EKG's and a bunch of other tests done (very fucking expensive), along with a nice lortab and a hot meal and a bed to sleep in. And you have these fat fucking old people who are barely alive but their families want to keep them alive for the disability check.
samqueler 1 year ago
@samqueler, you are arguing TWO different points.
judoyodan 1 year ago
@judoyodan I posted two things one didn't make it. That's just to emphasize how overburdened we are already, we have no room to take care of everyone now, and even if we did, why should the US government be the ones to take care of them? It's not an issue of whether someone's compassionate enough to give some in need health care, it's about whether the government should be responsible for the medical system. BTW I though you were very self-righteous in your post talking about his "compassion".

@soliloqy:

MEXBOL 2 years ago
@MEXBOL
