I say basic healthcare should be a right from a moral standpoint, and an economic one. This format is very limmiting for arguments sake, but suffice it to say that a healthy populace is better off than an unhealthy one. It is federal law that noone can be refused emergency care. That care is 8 to 10 times more expensive than preventative treatment would be. A functioning society cannot let people die or suffer needlessly.

@judoyodan how is that a clear lack of understanding of the issue? and yes it is a clear comparison. an insurance is like any other insurance. you get into a wreck, car insurance covers the damage you've made. same thing if you were to suddenly get a heart attack, health insurance covers. car insurance offers lower premiums if you have a better driving history. health insurance offers lower premiums if you have a better health history.

You have "negative rights": that is, the right to be free of molestation and coercion from others.

I say basic healthcare should be a right from a moral standpoint, and an economic one. This format is very limmiting for arguments sake, but suffice it to say that a healthy populace is better off than an unhealthy one. It is federal law that noone can be refused emergency care. That care is 8 to 10 times more expensive than preventative treatment would be. A functioning society cannot let people die or suffer needlessly.

We have drug addicts who complain about "chest pain" get EKG's and a bunch of other tests done (very fucking expensive), along with a nice lortab and a hot meal and a bed to sleep in. And you have these fat fucking old people who are barely alive but their families want to keep them alive for the disability check.

He did an excellent job explaining why non financial intervention actually IS the solution. Self sustatining jobs independent of government will make the economy better on their own. Would like to see him bring up that the "why" is because consumers naturally govern prices and it brings power to the people/consumer back.

Tax cuts are great, but only if spending is cut by even more. You cant just cut taxes and borrow the difference; you would be better off not cutting taxes at all.
