  • Uuuuuum... WOOW!!! Seriously, those pre-rendered sprites look SOO GREAT!!!

  • They better have this for the Wii soon. And Beethoven's 2nd for the SNES also on the Wii Shop Channel. Those 2 are my favourite games, and they deserve to be for sale there. Not that Milon's Secret Castle bullcrap. Or even those sports games. I want Toy Story, Beethoven's 2nd, and Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues all on the Wii Shop Channel. That's what I ask for. Do you agree with me, DarkEvil87?

  • I remember this when I was only five.. Good times...;)

  • I used to play this game all the time

  • i wish i could've played this game, its just by the time it came out alot of people were losing interest in the sega and SNES and wanted to move onto other things

  • There is this game for ps1?

  • @RENAN6298 I think there's only Toy Story 2 for PS1.

  • @DarkEvil87 thank you

    hugs

  • This version of the game was awful compared to the Genesis version

  • toy story on snes was awesome and so was toy story 2 on 64

  • is this on the wii downloadable games?

  • @TheDanpics No, it hasn't been released on that service.

  • This game actually used to scare me. I'm not quite sure what did it though.

  • In my opinion, while the Genesis version had color "banding", it still looked and had better frame rendering than the SNES version.

  • @Chaniyth You might be right, though I hope you're not only judging from the video. (Those are compressed and the frames are far from being as smooth as the real deal.)

  • @DarkEvil87

No, I own both the Genesis and SNES versions of the game. :)

The SNES version is of lower resolution and more "stretched". However the SNES version has less color banding and more "realistic" graphics due to it being able to handle more colors on screen at one time [SNES = up to 256 colors on screen at one time. Genesis = up to 64 colors on screen at one time.]

Characters move more smoothly on Genesis version and the Genesis version is a bit harder than the SNES version.

  • @Chaniyth I don't know if it's the blast processing they were talking about back in the days or maybe it's just that the game was made with the Genesis in mind, but anyway, I'm interested in playing that version because I've never played the extra level that's not in the SNES version.

  • @DarkEvil87 Blast processing is just this: The SNES was 3.75 MHz and the Genesis/Mega Drive was 7.36 MHz

  • @Chaniyth thanks i was looking for a compare between those 2 versions!

  • i remember this game when i was 3, i was too dumb fucked in the head to rember how to play it :D

  • The camera is pretty near Woody so you cant see much of everything around. Man I like widesreen :P

  • @SouthParkFreak90 Yeah it's just a little bit too close even for these old 4:3 games, but widescreen sure was a welcome improvement.

  • LOL! "OMG! WOODYS HAVING A SEIZURE!" XD

  • One of those books is called *Knick Kack* Is it about an old man who goes rolling home?

  • great graphics for snes. this was also on pc right?

  • @GodsNotReal95 Yeah, there's a PC version which I believe is based on the Genesis version of the game (probably in good part because the Genesis version has an additional level).

  • Amazing tho.. so many awesome Disney games arround in the 8-bit and 16-bit era yet this one.. one of my favorite Disney cartoons sucks. Atleast Aladdin and Lion King were awesome SNES games :) Those movies I also loved as a kid.

  • mega drive(genisis) version looks better.

  • If it wasn't from a collector's point of view , the game play really suck , compare to today's standard , (no actions) but great video. I've play the sega version last night and was like WTF, who would want to play this.... Hhhehehe

  • @oakland002 Rather than making perfect gameplay, they included many variations in different levels. The end result is that none of the gameplay mechanics are really that good. But I like it even today, though I don't find it great and it's too hard, but I like it enough.

  • OH GOD THE NOSTALGIA!

  • Oh god I used to HATE this game...never beat it :/

  • this is 2011 and you still have a snes wow

  • @TheYasstm Also, Genesis, Master System, NES, Game Boy, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Game Cube, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3.

  • @DarkEvil87 What? Seriously? The only systems this game is on is SNES/Genesis and PC.

There IS a Toy Story 2 for the N64,PC,Play Station *maybe Dreamcast but don't quote me on that* with nothing for the Lame I mean Gamecube.

  • @Luciferminusone Yeah Toy Story 2 also exists for Dreamcast, you were right about that.

  • @TheYasstm Atari 2600s are still awesome now.

  • @TheYasstm you dont just throw stuff like that out come on now!

  • @GodsNotReal95 i'm just kidding every console has his abilities and me i prefer the PS2 and the PS1

  • no save slots! not even a passcode entry!

  • @Nujabez1: It's only the Europe and Japanese Version that has the Password Feature, the U.S does not have any of that...

  • Man, the snes verion is too slow and the genesis' sound makes my ears hurt. No good choices.

  • I remember playing this game! But sadly I was at the hospital visiting someone lol. ah well regardless good memories... i guess...

  • I never owned an SNES as a kid. I was a Genesis kid. The sound in my opionion is WAY better on the Genesis.

  • ehstuuuuuuupid

  • OMG I rented this game on more than one occasion and I loved the movie :D Woody was my boy back then :3

The music in this stage is an instant earworm ^ ^

And the way Woody runs is hilarious xD

  • this game was hard when i was little

  • @HuskersAlex its hard now!

  • @crazyboxheadman69

true dat, this and the lion king were ridiculous considering the age group they were targeting. But then again i dont think there is such a thing as an easy snes game

  • enulators. dope roms.com

  • @darkevil87 where can i download this game, i used to play when i was younger and i want to play again

  • waaait....this looks exactly the same as the gb game...except for everything being bigger here....

  • Music sound quality was really good

  • i used to play the shit out of this game and its kinda sad cuz this really isnt a good game

  • i know what my favorite toy is

  • Genesis version was WAY better

  • @natedoggcata how could you haved liked the genesis more? the super nintendo entertainment system (or SNES) was made by nintendo :0 what makes the sega genesis version better?

  • @MegaZack30

Are you like 12 or something? I know what the SNES is and what it means and who made it. That doesnt change the fact that the Genesis version had better gameplay, better sound and even better graphics on some of the levels.

  • @MegaZack30

The faster gameplay for example ? Did you notice how slow the character moves and how slow was this "move move move" voice compared to Genesis version?Or you didn't.

  • I remember going and renting this video game from BLOCKBUsTER after seeing the movie in 1995 at the age of 5. GREAT CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!

  • @jvfunn3000 why didn't you just rent a game that was made by nintendo, they make the best games in the world, you should go back to the past and tell yourself to just rent a game that was made by nintendo, did you even know who nintendo was back in 1995? if you didn't, you were missing out on all the fun, there was great games for the SNES like super mario world, super mario kart, donkey kong country, super mario all-stars, a 4-in-1 game and a lot more of great games by nintendo XD

  • @MegaZack30 I have the Super Mario Games from Nintendo from when I was a kid in the 1990s. So I don't think that I missed out on all the fun.

  • @DarkEvil87 You reckon woodys yeehaas are more annoying than they would be because they're voiced by Jim Tom Hanks' brother?! Only jus noticed that.

Love the comment bout Mario :p

  • this game was hard as hell.

  • @keepyourlovesafe especially when you get to the claw level

  • aaah.. memories :)

  • I just nostalgia'd all over my room,

although we had this game for the PC back in the mid-late '90s

  • One thing to remember about the cutscenes is that I think the SNES was still too limited for having movie clips. Even when they had Toy Story 2 on the N64 they weren't able to have any, but they did for other systems like Playstation. There's at least an option in this game for turning off the story text.

  • @A113Pixar The SNES would definitely be too limited for rendering real movie clips, no matter how compressed. The N64 would probably have enough power, but the cartridge format was still a major drawback (not enough space for CD quality soundtracks and movie clips). The GBA uses cartridges and I've seen rendered clips on that, but with the years compression has evolved so that they can fit movie clips better with little space. (And the video resolution is small, so the videos are smaller too.)

  • @DarkEvil87 movie clips don't require power - just tonnes of space - something a cartridge back then couldn't provide. The n64 was more powerful than the ps1 but cartridge was an epic fail v CD. Only one n64 game contained FMV and that was Resident Evil 2. The largest carts had 64mb whereas CDs contained 700mb.

  • @liveswired I know about the space limitation of a cartridge and I know movies require less power than rendering a cutscene in-game, but I thought it still required decoding which the SNES processor could have some trouble with. (Of course, I'm not a computer engineer either.)

  • @DarkEvil87 SNES/Genesis have have the ability to decode no bother - FMV was low quality up until the ps2 and dvds came round.

  • @liveswired: Actually,Pokemon Puzzle League also had FMV on the N64 as well, and you won't believe the High-Quality...

  • @DarkEvil87: Actually,Pokemon Puzzle League had a very High-Quality FMV in the game too...and that was an N64 game!

  • @HamtaroSonicHedgehog Yeah I remember that now that you mention it.

  • @DarkEvil87: Yep and it was very impressive too,I wonder how they were able to fit all of that in with the memory space of the Cartridge..

  • @HamtaroSonicHedgehog not as impressive as the actual development of the film.

  • @A113Pixar PSX was the shit ;D

  • @A113Pixar movie clips don't require power - just tonnes of space - something a cartridge back then couldn't provide. The n64 was more powerful than the ps1 but cartridge was an epic fail v CD. Only one n64 game contained FMV and that was Resident Evil 2. The largest carts had 64mb whereas CDs contained 700mb - a game like Toy Story 2 would've been crammed onto a 12mb cart!

  • I used to play this on my pc. It was my #1 all time favorite game. Now I own Toy Story 2 for N64 and Toy Story 3 for PS3. This vid brings back great memories. Thank you!!

  • Sound Quality is a heck of a lot better than that of the Genesis. The game runs great on both consoles though.

  • @AliceinNirvanagarden I wouldn't say it's better, It's just different. They boith sound the same, just with different instruments. I actually prefer the Genesis version though.

  • Quite excellent graphics for an SNES. Very smooth animation.

  • this game could have been better. the hit detection is very impresise, jumping is awkard, and sometimes, the controls dont respond correctely.

but it has very nice graphics.

  • I Like the Genesis version more than this. The music sounds better at the title, it has more voice overs, and It seems to have a bit more color I think, except for the blocks. (In the genesis version they are all B blocks lol)

  • Oh my goodness this brings back memories! Time to bring out the old SNES I think...

  • did you know, on the game box and cartridge, it says "Nintendo" instead of "Licensed by Nintendo"

  • @smbmadman1 That's true, I own this one in real cartridge form. Must've been some kind of mistake on their part or they stopped saying Licensed by Nintendo at the late time it was released.

  • @DarkEvil87 also, i was able to beat the game over and over without emulation..does that mean im better than you? not to brag or anything

  • @smbmadman1 I don't know, I can beat the game without emulation too. I collect less lives than in the walkthrough, but I can still beat it everytime now. I only had trouble with it in the past when I was not used to it.

  • this looks fun

  • this is almost like a Gameboy Advance game :P

  • I wish I got this game isntead of having rented it one more than one occasion.

  • I remember this game. I was stuck at the beginning.

  • why do i remember playing something like this on the old gameboy??

  • @EGGproductions420 There's a Game Boy version, so you must have played that.

  • wow these are good graphics for the super nintendo!

  • @simonlee000 Virtual console? Did you get it via the Wii Shop Channel or via Homebrew emulation? Cuz I don't recall ever seeing it for sale on the shop channel.

  • @simonlee000 the gameboy was a breeze, the snes version was hard as eff. i still like it though.

  • This was a fun game, but got incredibly hard later on, especialy when alot of things in this level, Andy's Room, are trying to murder Woody. :(

  • What r those things that come outa the balloons. That has always puzzled me.

  • ok..why does he pull a whip from his fly?

  • If you hit Ham, money comes out lol

  • your really good at this game! and nintendo did a really good job ont the animation!

  • I RMEMBER PLAYING THIS AS KID LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • The opening Pitcure isn't a bad 3D attempt rom the SNES.

  • I loved this game when I was little.

  • @EyeProbablyNeedHelp me to and i have toystory 2 and im going to get toystory 3

  • This game is and was so damn hard for me never came close to beating it.

  • why has woody got a sexwhip?

  • @toasterowned666 Well, they told you it was Toy Story, but they didn't say what kind of toys.

  • @DarkEvil87 hahahahhahahah :') so funny

  • @toasterowned666 Baow chicka wao wao!!!

  • i don't know, i always loved the yee-ha's of woody

  • I was horrible at this game for some reason, but I tried by best to beat it haha.

It was worth all that frustration.

  • i just got this game today and it rocks!!!!!!!

  • omfg the beat that starts at :50 nearly made me cry from the good times.

  • Ok, I've had this game for the past 15 years and I never got to 2:46! WTF!

  • this game was so complicated

  • hey why are u able to enter password and choose language i cant do that on mine...

  • @Alex8tres1 Those features are exclusive to the European version (and maybe Japanese, I don't remember).

  • i thought that soldier was doing push ups lol

  • I'm impressed with the graphics. Consitering it's from 1995. Hey does anyone know what happens if you get all stars in each level?

  • @NinjaGirlSakura1 I don't know for sure that nothing special happens when you get all the stars in the game, but I don't think they made an extra for that. Stars are only there to help you get extra lives and probably nothing more.

  • Code red: MOO MOO MOO

  • nostalgia now comes in boxes

  • goog graphic for a snes game

  • @0pF4 Same graphics as the Genesis port though.

  • Is it possible to get a hold of this game these days? Used to play it 24/7 when it was new.

  • @Froboo It you can't find it online, it doesn't exist.

  • @MetalSonicEX Perhaps I'm just a terrible searcher. Would this game be free to play considering its age if I were to find it, or would it be illegal to download?

  • @Froboo Perhaps I can answer that. For a copyright to expire, it takes much longer than 10 or 15 years. It takes 70 years after the last surviving author has died. Depending on somewhat complicated laws, it might takes 95 to 120 years for a copyright to expire. So downloading the game is illegal even today. On the other hand, older games are often tolerated as abandonware (tolerated, not legal). Also, I've never heard of anyone getting arrested for downloading an SNES ROM.

  • good graphics for a super nintendo game

  • 3:19 A good soldier never leaves a man behind!

  • lol i have this on my snes

  • I like the music and sound effects better in the Genesis version :P

  • yee haw!

  • Great game

  • i allways only managed it to the mission where u gotta escape on that skateboard with arms outta sids house and that freakin dog kept chasing after ye..never completed the game:(

  • good memories

  • 1:48

trains and planes? where the automobiles? xD

  • SNES version FTW

  • brings back so many memories lol

  • i was always creeped out by the intro...

i always hid under something until the game started

  • old game

  • @StudioVincent Of course, after all, Toy Story was made by Pixar :P

  • 3:47

  • @rwmerlot777 oh god

  • We is going to be given? Did these developers proofread the text in this game?

  • I think I spotted what you think is a mistake but it isn't in this case. This is only a weird font where the H looks close enough to a W. I guess it's their problem for using such a bad font though.

  • I know that the text is bad because every time before I play the game, I turn most of the text off so that I don't have to keep waiting and waiting.

  • Woodys seziure lol :P

  • This SNES Game is as awesome as the movie, but the level with the skateboard is pretty hard!!! I like it anyway :- )

  • i hope someone invents the time machine...

id give anything to go back

(so just pulled an uncle rico)

  • Finished this game 10 years ago... i guess... it was hard but i loved it.!!

  • I think the Genesis version is WAY better...

  • Woody is Sexy...; Great Game!!!

  • @LionessStrangeMinded

well, the snes has more colors, the animations are smoother, theres a better framerate, and it sounds better, so what makes the genesis version better.

  • I might be mistaken, but I think you targeted the wrong person, the way I see it PIKACHU49386 said that. Anyway, I don't know what's up on YouTube, if you upload a video of the same game for the Genesis, you get comments like "SNES version is better" and if you post the SNES version, they'll say "Genesis version is better". I know from experience, it's always the same, probably depends a lot on which version they played growing up.

  • you get more levels in the megadrive, and more pictures in the cutscenes

both games are the game, gameplaywise however...so all the sound differences and colours is so minor that it doesnt change the game that much...or even at all in this as the gameplay is the exact same

  • Yeah, they're really good. They're made to look 3D-like, a little bit like Donkey Kong Country. They were able to make them similar also on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

  • The Film is awesome, but the game is very hard...anyway i like this : D

  • This game was fun, but hard.

  • Travelers Tales? They made Sonic 3D Flickeys island with sega, now Disney? xD

  • I think they work with all kinds of licenses, as seen recently with their Lego games.

  • ilkd school games are awesome but hard games now and days are like easy and nothing but muultie

  • i have this i beat this game in 1 day and bad thing is this HARD!!!!!

  • Does the PC version look different?

  • I don't have the PC version, but I've heard that it's based on the Sega Genesis version and if I'm not wrong, there's a little smoothing effect on the overall graphics.

  • the sega genesis version looks and sounds a lot better

  • I agree. The music is infinte times better! And the fact that Metallica plays it just makes it better!

  • OLD SHOOL GAMES RULE!

  • hell yeah they do, we need more of these type of games, im sick of first person shooters

  • I remember this game, I could never beat the first level so I just gave up lol

  • this rminds me, wasn't buzz holding a SNES controller in the movie

  • I'm pretty positive that there was an SNES in the second movie, but I don't have a good enough memory to know if that happened in the first movie too.

  • Does anyone else find it funny how much that "Yee-haw!" doesn't sound like Tom Hanks? Music and sound in the SNES version are of much higher quality it seems, though there's something charming about the Genesis' sound and music.

  • Genesis music is more raw, if that makes sense. I think it's good too. As for the voice, I think you're right, they do not seem to have any of the real actors to play the roles.
