Best thing to get is superfloss - it's sold in most supermarket stores. It has the threader part already built in so it saves you time :)

U don't have to floss with braces. All you have to do is brush good and use mouth wash(the kind for braces), and your teeth will be pretty;) had my braces on for almost a year now I flossed only 1 time and my orthodontist said I have really white and nice teeth!

@xojordynbug yeah, well part of that is the reason behind genetics. I brush my teeth two times a day for five minutes, floss one time a day, but still have cavities, all because of my dad. But you probably have genes for your teeth to be strong.

braces make everything complicated. Flossing the most. My orthodontist gave me this superfloss thing that is like a thick floss which can easily slide bewteen your braces. They are too thick to slide in-between my gums.. I have gingivitis spreading through my mouth and I try to floss but every time I do I just feel like quitting. :/ Ima just try floss threading. Weird how my dentist OR orthodontist never told me about these I never would of known. Braces Suck. Period

@TheEpicMysticalNoob You floss exactly the same in the back as you would do in the front. It just takes practice. It used to take me like 5-10 min while i was watching tv after a month of having braces. At first i would floss in front of a mirror but you get so used to it that it becomes a breeze.

I just got braces and my gums are very swollen. I started flossing two times a day for about 2 days now, and the swelling has not gone down. How long until I can expect results, because my orthodontist said if I floss I can get my braces off at the end of summer.

@xnovalx I'd give it at least a week or 2. At the start of getting braces it's normal for your gums to be a little agitated and swollen but they should heal up soon & the flossing will help. If you still have bleeding after quite sometime, see your ortho again or a dentist.

Amen. Braces cause more pain, are unsightly, get food stuck between them, makes brushing difficult (to the point where you have to change toothbrushes every two weeks because brushing over braces ruins the bristles on the brush), and makes flossing nearly impossible as well as time-consuming, making one more susceptible to dental cavities, gingivitis, gum disease, pain, etc.... In short, I detest wearing braces!!!
