The first bit is a pay as you go suck it and see debussian like indulgence.Probably field testing the Carvin dynamics, sustain, range, tone, distortion etc.. Here, Carvin has a lot of ground to cover I am affraid, so Allan, if you want the ultimate headless? you should check out the Gambworth, it is made with you and Gambale in mind, for the moment its a well kept secret available only to the few. The rest of you, save your money and get a straight what you see is what you get Fatboy twin beam.
I think this is a Zone. That's an improv. Any time you see the title Zone on any of Allan's Live stuff, it's an improv,, often times it will end with Gas Lamp Blues (AKA "Gattox")
I bet he goes back to using the Delaps live. I really like this new Carvin though. Yeah, feedback issues aside (which can be correct with updated models), it does sound good and finally Carvin made a guitar that Allan might actually end up using live and in the studio.
OK, I just looked it up, this is the new Carvin Allan Holdsworth headless semi. I guess being tested by Allan. My guess? he wont keep it for long if it continues to feedback the tonic range is also limited, bit like playing in a Tin can.
The feedback is caused by the twin beam and the top left base chamber, DeLap took that off and thus reduced the total bass area and with it the vibration caused by the top and bottom 1/2" covers , DeLap is far superior but Mr DeLap is an asshole. Allan insists on the 3"3/4 and a top base chamber with T-Trem, you cannot do it man no matter how much you use the effect box to rectify the issue on stage.
Sounds like new material to me! Cant wait for the new album!

It is not Zone. Chip Flynn has confirmed it is a new song. Listen again, and again and again with good speakers.

Allan still also collaborating with Rick Canton and has used a couple of his guitars on recent recordings - not yet released!

@FMAPS1 this guitar doesn't use a twin beam construction it's a chambered solid alder body with birch top.
