I hate country music. Townes is one of the best song writers ever! He's not country he's torment and torment tells stories and stories in the end is all we have.
this to me, is bewildering. How was one so talented not known...at least by the general public. Was it management? Marketing? perhaps Mr Van zandt was to be like the other great artists of times gone by. Only to be discovered & recognized after they had departed. Willie & Merle have indeed opened my eyes, or should I say ears...
If Joe Ely, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark, Emmy Lou, Steve Earle, etc etc.... they all rave about you....wow, you must have been better than most. I saw the movie, actually bought it. Great movie....RIP Townes.
