  • Lol even though its locked , or hasn't got lag fix , it woudn't even come near to the Lg Optimus 2x... = my next phone :) with V.I.P. Service

  • pretty fast and with hacking the galaxy s wont have a chance even if it was also hacked, it self. Face it samsung your loosing customers left and right . Here in the U.S.A

  • My LG Optimus One (600 Mhz) I have an Average of 57 and stdev 16,56 . I think the Galaxy S is manipulated. It would never be slower than my Optimus One

  • What's the use when the os waste all the speed

  • with custom ROMs and super fast kernels from curio, SGS is super fast, this must be an old SGS with stock 2.1. so dumb!

  • @roshanmanuel you know, some ppl want great speed out of the box, without applying ton's of lagfixes, new kernels and ROMs

  • @Piter1225

Galaxy s is still faster in 3d games than tegra's 2 phone, so LOL.

  • @MrOsamaful Sounds reasonable... :(NOT)

  • Poor LG ..

this cellphone is good all because of the crazy NVIDIA .....wait for the same chip installed on a good quality HTC...

  • @seals9121 HTC only uses Qualcomm GPU's and CPU's so that's never going to happen...

  • @SuckerBullet I agree, vote you a yes.

but snapdragon is not that bad actually. and Adreno 205 205 GPU is significantly good

  • When will HTC be out with a Dual core ?

  • imagine a 2 ghz dual core 45nm new generation processor from nvida with a power vr540 gpu

  • another test that explains it all

  • Tegra 2 super

  • fps2d is a useless comparison. the Galaxy S series are locked at 56fps max. Show some Nenamark!

  • 1st thought was "impressive" but really for now cell phone processors dont need to be any faster. the little lagging in android gets a lot better in 2.3 which is awesome. they should much more work on energy effiency. but dual core helps there too:

intel released test results in which a 1ghz single core was compareble to the performance of a 550 mhz dual core processor, however the dual core took 40% less energy and thats what we need right now

  • @pietzprove Pretty sure Tegra 2 is supposed to be more efficient than current ARM chipsets. It's based off of the Cortex A9 architecture and Nvidia's proprietary GPU

  • @Geoxile great to know thx!

although i dont think that this phone looks sexy at all

  • what app is that?

  • @ehudster Fps2D

  • @ehudster fps2d

  • What did you spect? All SGS are locked @56Hz! I'm getting 56fps avg on my Captivate..

  • Comment removed

  • no one needs fucking 150 fps on a phone. ffs. i want to see a full head to head battle not just this stupid test

  • More than the screen refresh rate means VSYNC is deactivated. That's not a good sign, because consequence are:

    - tearing in videos

    - tearing in general UI

I hope they will fix this before release

  • SGS have got lock, nothing special. Just something like V-sync in computers.

  • app is fps2d by ed burnette.. it can be found on the market

  • locked to 56fps and no lag fix, to easy.

  • @undying83

Lol, phandroid cry babies. Instead of appreaciating evidence, they say, "he's using it wrong. Hasn't installed lag fix".

When Jobs asks you to not touch one band (which you barely ever touch) you cry bloody murder, and then you expect us to install 1.5+GB Lag fix?

    Nice...

  • Yeah, curious as to what test app this is...

  • What app is it?

  • @libulik94

    me to...

  • so.. I need to buy a new phone ....again?

  • Galaxy S locks on 56fps,,,,,,, the real power is more,,,,

  • @tahnayetahna it doesnt matter point is it locks, thats like saying "i could kill you if my gun didnt jam all the time" point is it jams this doesnt

  • @mikeysmoment

yes, but it`s only a benchmark , In daily use ,is there any game that Galaxy S can not play very smooth ??!!!!

  • @tahnayetahna Currently it runs all games smooth, but Tegra 2 based games are coming out and expect some lag considering were starting to get into some really intense gaming

  • @mikeysmoment

Why would you expect lag?The Galaxy S is limited to its screen refresh rate, which is 56 Hz. All this test shows is the refresh rate limit. It doesn't even use the GPU.

  • @GnillGnoll the games that are coming out NEED tegra 2 to operste smoothly, thats why

  • @mikeysmoment

    What games? Give me titles.

  • @MrOsamaful check your pm's

  • @mikeysmoment

And which games would that be, and why would they need Tegra 2?

  • @GnillGnoll Dungeon Defenders and future games running on Unreal Engine 3
