You have a very similar back ground as my wife. She was born in Thailand in a refugee camp in Chon Buri. Her family is also from Phnom Penh escaping Pol Pot in 1981. Her Khmer is good enough to communicate with all her relatives, as it's the only way she can talk to her mother and father. I don't speak Khmer but I really want to learn so I can speak to her parents.

We are planning a trip to Cambodia this fall so that her mother can see her sister that she has not seen in more than 30 years.

Before I never want to go to Cambodia because I'm afraid of the insect and ghost. Lol. I heard there big bugs and there a lot of ghost in the wood. I'm not afraid anymore because I told myself to cover up and don't sleep alone. Lol. I want to check out the beautiful lanscape of our country but I need some guts first.

i think one of the best way to learn khmer is to watch thai dubbed khmer movie so in other thai movie but translate in khmer

and also listen to khmer music like

is your video only for ladies? lol btw cambodia isnt dangerous. i was there for 2 years since i was 16 now im 18 without my parents.!!! just dont walk around the streets by ourself at night. and the traffic isnt bad, its easy to get around if you dont want to drive so perfectly like in america..

aww man you really need to pick up on your khmer language i mean really... see the best way to learn and keep khmer language in you is to listen to khmai music and watch khmai movies trust me it work....

Wow u have such an accent when u speak khmer. I was born in Florida and I can speak fluently even though there aren't much khmer people around me. I even teach it to all my american friends and they can understand and speak very well now. Cambodia is not any more dangerous than anywhere else in America. I've been there so many times with family and by myself. It's a great place to be. And traffic is no worse than main cities here. I even took all three of my kids there and they love it!

Hi aznlucycanada, I am a little disappointed when your parent said that Cambodia is dangerous. This is the year 2009, isn't it? Cambodia is really much better than you think. In case you are on the street alone over 2 or 3 AM, then it could be. As long as you you have a company with u, then it safe. Anyway, please come to visit our country. You can't change what you really are. You can change your lang & nationality, but you can't change your face and your Khmer blood. Anyway, you are cute.
