Sorry...I state that I am seeing BBM was mesmerized. but I doubt it.....Frankly i can not interpret the behavior of Jake after the death of Heath. Part of the web considers him a jerk who retired if they are screwed by going shopping i Paris with Reese, according to another part his behavior was driven by a strong emotional shock at the death of Heath. Some even said that Jake and Heath have had an affair outside of BBM. I do not know whether it should deserve respect or contempt.....

Actually Jake and Heath knew each other since the 'Moulin Rouge!' audition which was around in 2000, not since Brokeback mountain, and I think most people are not aware of it. Jake said it during one interview before Heath's death. Seems like Jake, Heath and Ewan McGregor were the last 3 candidates for the leading role in Moulin Rouge but Ewan won it, so the two started to become close out of jealously towards Ewan. That's what I read.

So I can say that they were good friends.
