The PYP program IB for little kids, is insane! I am moving due to this program- Be a global citizen, learn your behavior profiles and IB attitudes- How about teach the kids- these are 5 year old kids and we are telling them to be Risk-takers and go change the world- No wonder American public schools fail

The fact that you have to send your exams OVERSEAS to be graded demonstrates an obvious global agenda not to mention the cost involved with that. IB is a UNESCO-NGO that is, by it's charter, tied to UNESCO and is therefor REQUIRED to pursue an agenda for global education. The term "rigorous" is yet another NEWSPEAK term. What are the critics complaining about? They aren't even familiar with the program. Gosh. The problem with our diploma program is that we don't start doing REAL advanced work until we enter junior year. Then it's like a shock to us when we enter 11th grade and all of a sudden we're expected to do all of these advanced things. The parents should be happy that their children are getting a chance to start early.

That's why we are protesting the use of taxpayer money on this socialist scam; as parents and taxpayers we looked into IB and found out what they want our kids to learn and we are not happy with it. Not even sure why schools have to have any kind of "programme" in place to learn reading, writing, and math.

@shimauma42 I see where you're coming from, but it probably depends more on the teachers than the programme itself. Maybe it is a good idea to wait until the students are old enough to have an opinion for themselves and not be indoctrinated or whatever you want to call it. Or maybe they should prepare those who are serious about the program beforehand. So, there are a lot of factors here. Overall, I think it should be started earlier.

If there's a private school out there where private citizens can blow their private cash on this WASTE of a program, that's fine, I don't care. I'm a MYP and IB Diploma graduate (as of today! I got my results today actually! :D ). To be part of IB, I had to apply to get into the program. These parents don't have to send their children to this school if they really ignorantly, if I could be so blunt, believe that IB is anti-American and socialist. As for paying for it, you're paying to have your children have a better learning environment. I say that's a good investment! :D

The IB program is definitely one of the best high school programs out there. It's so silly to call it global indoctrination because the program really encourages students to think critically. Taking IB is probably one of the best choices I've ever made in my life and I'm immensely grateful for everything I learned as part of my IB experience. If I ever have children in the future I will encourage them to do IB because you won't get a much better education than that.

@barrettski189 Well, you aren't finished with IB yet so you will probably learn more critical thinking as you move on in the program. Then again, the students who take IB have to be motivated and if there is no motivation there is no learning.
