  • Are the Everlys simply the best music performers of all time . you have Elvis / The Beatles/ the Everlys are 2nd to none

  • The melody from the beginning to 0:15 sounds like I'll be there by Jackson 5

  • today 19 years ago , i used this song as my openingsdance on my wedding ... its forever attached to one of the best memories in my life .. thank you Everly brothers <3

  • Good song spoilt by the awful backing music.

  • this is serious music!

  • there may be a few songs out there that are this good but nothing I've ever heard is better.....musical perfection!

  • Heard this song on Flipped. <3

  • Beautiful Song..love it...

  • this takes me back to the 60s' mom and dad, dancing in the living room, so in love

  • I like Turin Brakes because they sound like a modern day version of the everly brothers.

  • i also heard it on flipped; it's amaizing!

  • im glad i heard this song on flipped

  • So good. SO GOOD.

    They sound even better live.

  • i love their vocals..

  • this in my song... lei it be me....

  • 4 people prefer justin bieber...

  • Music doesn't get any better than this. I was fortunate enough to have seen them perform "in the day," one of the great acts from the 50's.

  • @diptwares you are one fortunate person!

  • Back when great vocals was enough.

  • A wonderful example of music and singing, first rate!

  • Love this song!!!

  • Too bad there's no copy of the studio version on youtube, The screaming kids plus the fact that it isn't the whole song make this extremely disappointing.

  • The pictures of them are sorta scary....

  • melody perfection

  • Absolutely superb vocals. Both voices are beautiful tenor male voices. Sound like two birds singing together in the trees. The music of today is crap & shit compared to the Everly Brothers or Buddy Holly or the Beatles.

  • RIP JG imu ilu friends 4 ever. always in my thoughts. xoxoxoxox.

  • This is my all time favorite. What a beautiful song. We requested it at our wedding in 1969 and they'd never heard of it - unbelievable. These boys compliment each other and have the most perfect sound.

  • They are the best duets I've ever heard... Love you guys...

  • They sing very-very well! Great song! But, what happened to their skin and face? Looks like they get some sort of a pox, or even suffered some burn? They were very handsome when they sang " Dream, dream, dream"...

  • I remember seeing this on television many years past. Still worth listening to and will never go out of style..

  • simple but wonderful

  • This is what you call REAL MUSIC

  • dont leave me lonely.......wonderful

  • Lovely!

  • Oh I did not know this song is sung by Everly brothers. I only know this song of Bob Dylan. Everly brothers is one of my best musicians to me now.

  • Listen to the original French song: (Je t'appartiens) by Gilbert Bécaud.

    Lyrics Pierre Delanoë

Music Gilbert Bécaud Like for "What now my love" (Et Maintenant), "September Morn" (C'est en septembre) and "It must be him" (Seul sur son étoile)

  • This song is way before my time...but I can face the fact that it's one of the best songs ever. I can't see why some people can't admit anything is as good as their own generations. I thank God for giving me ears to hear GREATNESS from no matter what time.

  • This makes me want to sleep!!!

  • i think spirit of atlanta did a much better job of performing these guys own song then they actually did them selves, and are they from georgia. because that was the theme of spirits show that year 1980-

what im speaking of is DCI 1980 spirit of atlanta (look it up) was anazing

    this song was there closer

  • @mo81206

I looked, listened & thought it a complete waste of time.

The harmony of the Everlys is incomparable. They are the definitive version of this tune & many more.

  • Flipped <3 I swear that movie has the best music.

  • @Retro80sLove yeahhhhhhhhh i searched the soundtrack and went here. so touched by that movie

  • the left one looks like sarkozy lol

  • are they wearing gloves or is that how their hands are

  • Absolutely adore this song, it makes me tearful everytime I hear it. But I did find the music drowned their voices out a bit on this.

  • Sang this song accapella to my wife on the altar when we got married.

  • @afamreport What a beautiful gift and memory for her...

  • @afamreport and she married you anyway?

  • It's too bad...before, the girls screamed for musical legends like the Everly Brothers...now, they scream for musical turds like Justin Bieber.

  • sssssweet

  • Great song, but..

here they looks like two scary muppets!

    Great music, anyway..

  • they look dead..

  • @MaxRunhamMusic

That's because their music live forever :)

  • This probably one of my favourite songs, and it doesn't really matter what age you are (I won't disclose mine), anyone has the capacity to look back further than recent memory, or appreciate a great pop song.

It also helps when your Grandad gives you a big batch of vinyl!

  • this song is amazing and so beautiful the words are brill

  • The way music should be! REAL no junk to hide the voices or change it... Need to get back to basics, when the music was the voice!

  • they look like puppets

  • +Quaulity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the lighting in this is just genius. brilliant song also, just clears the head

  • that's right pcgreen, they do look like they have halloween masks on. It's the quality of the tele we used to have to watch all those years ago. That's probably why Elvis was so popular, they probably thought his features were just due to the distortion on the tele. Not knowing that he was actually an ugly bloke.

  • They both look like they have halloween masks on.

  • auaaaaaaaa memories thanku NY uare my rainbow on this rainy day in queens wonderful

  • Dont write them like this anymore......

    Pity.

  • @LOKISlog7

    x2 !

    great song !

  • brilliant

  • This was *the* love song that served as the backdrop of the love affair between Lee Harvey Oswald and Judyth Vary Baker in New Orleans, spring/summer 1963. Both of them married at the time, Oswald nonetheless proposed to Baker in late June, just two months after first meeting. Read "Me & Lee: How I came to know, love and lose Lee Harvey Oswald" for more.

  • Check out Phil Everly, Bill Medley and Brian Wilson on "In My Room".

  • Surprised these guys didn't show up at the Klondike! Beautiful harmonies all weekend!

  • Mind boggling that they are both in their early 70s now. Thanks for the great music Phil and Daon.

  • Ladies and gentlemen! Robert Stack and Michael Richards!!!!!!

  • @flabdabit: EXACTLY :)

  • greatest wedding song ever.

  • panalo.

  • 0:49 a bit like david haselhoff

  • Wow this was 40 years ago.

Whatever happened to those screaming girls?

  • @rajbebe They're all grandmas now ... like me. lol Phil was soooo cute. (sigh)

  • im 20 and i think this kind of music is the best.

  • @neonaction guess what u right on bro

  • my dads favorite song.

  • so disciplined in the good old golden days.

  • They are perfect .... wish they could go on forever!!!!

  • a good cover of Gilbert Becaud-Je t'appartiens

  • Perfection, minimal backing, awesome dual harmonies, great lyrics, whats gone wrong with this modern crap we here today?.

  • @mdjdecorations It's going the same way as our grammar and spelling.

  • @leoantonio Luv music leo, hate spelling, have a nice weekend.

  • @mdjdecorations HOW RIGHT YOU ARE THIS IS WHAT I ASK ALL THE TIME AND WISH WE COULD TURN THE CLOCK BACK AND STOP THIS SICK WORLD!

    thanks for uploading, t

  • Now and Forever....

  • A treasured piece of musical history. Love it!

  • Sooooo beautiful....just listen to those harmonys amazing

  • @hilaratch i told my wife concrete blond had a similar sound,,,,,but these guys are the first

  • haha they look kinda freakyXD but the song is really nice

  • There are talents that transcend the decades and the Everly Bros. harmonies are amazing.

  • I was born in 1951 and played in bands for years. I would have been the guy playing the woodwinds, flute, sax and clarinet. I also sang harmony with my best friend, John, for many years. The Everly brothers were a staple for all young bands and I feel the same now about ther beautiful music.

  • THE BEST EVER 140 SECONDS...

  • "Some people (No doubt idiot Jackson Fans) weren't there. "I Was"

This was Talent, Jackson was Crap."

  • Comment removed

  • @Perrygodmother dont care about the wigs, what singers.

  • @whirlbirdy

You are so right whirlbirdy. Talent is appreciated much longer than style and they had talent in spades.

  • perfect harmony generated by genetics and talent.....perfection

  • wutang

  • Can you say "sweet harmony"?

  • These kind songs really revived old memories and always make me romantic

  • One of the 1st times I have them w/out a guitar wrapped around their necks! As cute as can be!Great close-ups of the duo!

  • I still believe they are the greatest.

  • They have always been in my eyes and ears the best combination of brothers sing of all time there will never be a brother combination like this if the big bang began tomorrow.

  • i love this song!! i love everly brothers... .they could sound cursi... but i like =)

  • voices of angels pure brilliance, they are up there with the best of all time.

  • what a music!!!!

    awesome

  • oh my god this music!!! This music... this music is mailed directly to the heart

  • Pretty Cool !

  • Song translated from a french song written by Gilbert Becaud, the same guy who wrote "What now my love" (Sinatra), "Love on the Rocks" and "September Morn" (Neil Diamond). Another French singer/composer wrote the song that once translated/adapted by Paul Anka will become "My Way" (Sinatra).

  • maybe, i don't think so, so what. . .look at the beauty this song brought so many people.

  • Your typical "Who's dumber than a Fifth Grader" answer was expected actually. It didn't take long to find out who's the Morron of the Day ..haha

Just because I said these great classics were actually French songs is enough to piss you off and make you question whether it's true or not. Always that...must hate anything French mentality?

Open a book then, your Statue of Liberty is 100% french too...

  • and Oh my God ......the language you speak is 50% French as well (Go and check before you reply back, you will avoid exposing openly your ignorance to rest of the world...once again). Hope I made your day

  • Awesome song 21 years before my birth but still great ^_^

  • This was 'our' song when my late husband Garry and me were dating all those years ago. Makes me cry for him every time i play it . Truly a song for lovers.

  • Brian Wilson was far superior to any Beatle?

LOL is the only sequence of letters that is appropriate here. Brian Wilson is a genius, but come on. Lennon and McCartney's catalogs are unsurpassed.

  • Can't fully agree with LOL (a bit harsh), but totally agree about Wilson, Lennon and McCartney. They are in a class by themselves.

  • Everly Brothers, Beach Boys and Beatles had the best harmonizing ever! Very few can compare these days.

  • @dichambers what does LOL mean? Thanks Paul.

  • just quit comparing and enjoy the music, people!

  • thank you for this video

  • well , theres no point comparing the beatles with the bboys. the beatles use to write their own songs. they were influenced by the way the everlies sing. while the beachies dont write their own songs but used to steal it from chuck berry. but ill not start another discussion here

  • cbimbi: You really should not post about things that you are not sure about. Brian Wilson was/is considered a genius producer on par with Phil Specter and far superior to any Beatle. The group also wrote many of their songs. I think you are confusing your impression/image of the group with their outstanding track record and talent, but this video is not about them so let's get back to the bro's.

  • well, I will give you an example... the beach boys, for example , are far below their quality as musicians and are twice more famous than the everlies

  • It is true that certain bands achieve great fame and others do not climb as high. The Beach Boys like the Beatles were greatly inspired by the Everly Brothers and both groups acknowledged it. The Beatles always said the greatest pop record was by the Beach Boys (Pet sounds), so these artists often admired one another. I do agree that the brothers are often forgotten in the public today though.

  • the who boys?.. im being serious, iv never heard of the beach boys

  • This is it right here, listen, REAL MUSIC

  • It amuses the hell out of me that they have 2 degrees of separation from Guns n Roses.

  • what does "2 degrees of seperation" mean?

  • Great harmonies from the brothers as always. For a real treat, check out their song " I Wonder If I Care As Much" as well (you can find it in my favorites). It is another example of their outstanding harmonies.

  • this song was and still good everywhere...just seems like forgotten but it is not...we all remember this song and love it... hope some day the everly brothers have some real recognition.. same as richie valens .. without them all the rock an music will not be the same.. .

  • thanx for this info Waldo99. I really mean the public in general. They deserve wider recognition

    regards

  • I was impressed by the general ignorance about the huge influence the Everly bs had on music. The Beatles used to try vocal harmonies based on Everly Bs. They dont have the recognition they deserve.

  • I agree when it comes to the public in general. The musicians recognize them though. Believe it or not they are in the rock and roll, country music, rockabilly and songwriters Halls of Fame! They were also in the first class inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame with Elvis, Chuck Berry, etc.

  • I do agree.. they dont have the recognition they deserve...

  • Couldn't disagree more. The Everly Brothers have indeed received the appropriate recognition since their first hit in 1957. For 50 years and more they have been considered unique and unparalleled. Their records were (are) successful in country, pop and rock and they still sellout venues. 2008 Gone Gone Gone (they wrote) received a Grammy (Krauss and Plant collaboration) But after 50 years, they aren't new. I'll give you that.

  • anyone knows how are these 2 guys today?

  • As I understand it they are both living and in their 70's. They have retired from performing as of a few years ago. Within the last 5+ years they did occasionally tour with Simon and Garfunkel. S&G were huge fans of the brothers.

  • sweet sound of harmonious singing. one of my favorites by them.

  • This song was huge in Mexico, and they still make covers of it. And the Everly Brothers' version of this song is one of the best.

  • ny rainbow2 thnx for posting the everly bro.song...well done

  • This is from a Shindig! episode..

  • best harmony ever--nobody like them!!!(good ole Kentucky boys)

  • Awesome song. Awesome harmony. I LOVE the Everlys.

  • No one sings this song like them !! The terrible lighting and screams don't matter their voices at all ! Ive never been tired of listen to this song sung by them (not by other singers, Elvis for example)

  • The lighting looks bad because this is a poor copy of the original video. This is a production copy, and not the original broadcast copy. The lighting was intentionally dark background with spotlights on the singers, but the poor quality distorts it here.

  • True, I made a survey of many covers on youtube, but the Everly brothers are the only ones who sing it with so much feeling.

  • sounds like "you were always on my mind"

  • I still enjoy hearing them, I was young when they first started their career. Lovely post.
