  • Do you ever go a little further offshore and try to pull fish like that out of the deep? This looks like it would be a good work out but I could imagine what it must be like pulling one out of the bottom in deeper water!

  • Im sure i overlooked this somewhere but where are you getting the rays from i fish the bay here in tampa too but i dont know any baitshops that sell'em besides i usually net my own bait so i have enough to chum bait shops are good for blue crab though

    saludos desde Marida, Yucatan, Mexico

  • Gracias

  • Awesome Captain Chancey! I can't wait to take a trip with you! See you in 2010 :)

  • Boca Grande is the spot

  • Another great video!

  • Thanks Capt.

    Always enjoy the videos!

    David

  • Excellent video! But I'm a little concern about safety, the fishermen constantly falls on deck, I will advise against using sandals, and use some knee protecction, and if you are putting an unlimited rod between your legs maybe some crotch protection is in order. Keep the good work.

  • Hey captain - great video again. I got two questions for you. 1) At the beginning the guy that was fishing was using much heavier rod (like one for bill fish) while later Nathan (believe that was his name) was using much lighter rod - is it because he was catching smaller (below 150lb) groupers? 2) You guys seem to use brute force method while fishing for Goliath - is there a possibility to use lighter tackle and allow fish to do several runs and make it tired before landing? Thanks!

  • Actually the lighter rod is a 40-80 pound class rod. The heavier rod is unlimited, we don't have a clue what it is rated at. If you let the fish have any line they will break you off on the structure. You have to stop them or you won't catch them.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Thanks very much for your reply. Tight lines Captain!

  • excellent point that needs stressing, dont give any line, i've lost monsters in trial and error with the tiring method

  • again a nice videoo capt.ben! keep'em coming and capt do you do this on the charters to??

  • Thanks! Yes Sir this is just about how most charters go. Clients usually get many opportunities at Giant Goliath Grouper.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Nice video.

  • You be easy on the WILMINGTON GRILL BOYS.. Thats my hometown. Our fishing isn't what it use to be. They may be a little rusty.

  • I am a Carolina boy too and I was rusty! There is now way to prepare for those monsters.

  • Rarrr. Rarraarrr.

  • I'm sure you dont need me to tell you this, but make sure you dont get your finger caught in a loop of that line if you plan on keeping it! I love the show, and the quality is outstanding. Thank you for another great episode.

    Best of luck,

    Danny

  • i go down boca grande and fish the full moon all the time for snook in that spot and we always say were gona try grouper fishing but we never do

  • The guy in blues is the first that manages to take out those beasts? i mean on chew on this show

  • Can u tell me how u rig up a stingray? Is it just one hook the the back of it? Is there a particular spot to go for? I mean through the tail or through the flap? Love the show by the way!!!

  • I just hook them in a hard spot by the tail. It seems to work well for me.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • dude ! u r my idol !

    cheers from middle east

  • Those were some pretty big groupers.I bet they are very strong

  • im new to your show capt. my question is why is this not on t.v like espn, or outdoor mag, my family would love to see this, bill dance is cool but he cant touch this!!!!

  • NragedXX unfortunately it is all about the money. To be on ESPN and the like it costs $250,000-$350,000 in airtime alone. Sometimes it is different but most of the time it is not. Thank you very much for watching and subscribing.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • wow no wonder, oh well i just think this show would be a knock out, on cable that is, its already a knock out here! you have a great thing going here, i am speaking to my wife to see if we can schedule a trip to your area of the country, i would love to be hooked into a monster by your charter service!

    ~rage

  • He need's more sponsors. With the sponsors come the airtime. With the airtime comes the viewers. With the viewers come more sponsors paying for commercial time. With that, come's Capt. Chancey getting PAID!!

  • Wow, damn man!

    CaptChancey is rules! :)

    I love watch it!

  • Those rays sure take a beating, great show as always.

  • awesome

  • Everyone be sure to click on the High Quality link. This is the Highest quality show I have been able to put up on YouTube.
