  • Can you say ADD? This video was supposed to be about sniping. Next you see him at the mouth of the creek. What happened to sniping

  • were is this location at?

  • @unicorngoblin the location is at ,,,mineral bar , colfax ca. hwy 80 to reno.

  • A thought-on that butter knife, if you wrap the handle, making it larger 'round, might be easier to handle, and reduce hand fatigue.

  • 1. wearing gloves saves the hands!

    2. GEt WeT!!! That part of the river you can get in, use a mask etc., gives way better viewpoint.

3.keep at it, some of dem iowa hill stones made their way down there and havent been found yet.

    4.nice vid

  • @ds1919ds1919 .. thanks for the comment.. i did do some snorkel sniping that year and had a blast. and i very much agree wear gloves .the slate rock down there tore up my hands.

  • Fred,

  • @C0017A anytime randy..i might have not gone out this year but i can tell you next year i will be reout fitted and ready. cant keep me away to long from prospecting.

  • That's the spot I used last time I went up.

  • i think just about everyone hits that spot. its so inviting to prospecters... its best to hit that spot just after the water goes down in early spring, other wise your out of luck....

  • what size mesh classifier are you using in this vid?

Great videos by the way, keep it up.

  • im using a 1/4 inch mesh... i hate rocks in my sluice. it also allows me to run less water and put my sluice just about any were. the gravel is about the size no bigger then a pea. i find this best for allowing the cons to stratify quickly before exiting the sluice,

  • Thanks for the info, ive watched all your vids a few times over on some. I'm just getting started with my panning adventures and im learning alot for your videos, actually i just went to mineral bar this weekend. Didnt find much where i was looking but i cant wait to get back out. good luck and maybe i'll see yah down on the river. cheers!

  • if you really want to find something you need to hit shallow bed rock. and not a area that has been worked over before too. if you can you need to go up river till it bend to the south or down about 1/4 mile past the bridge . dig in the shallow bed rock near the river and you could come out with a gram maybe? but dont dig up any vegetation or the rangers will slap you pee pee..lol

  • Fred,

I am sorry computer has so little memory that I coundn't see the video..

BUT, great effort helping all new prospectors find some gold..

    BRAVO!!

    Randy "C-17A" :)

  • thanks randy! as i type i am gearing up to dredge today will post soon!

  • I wish you a damned fine day dredging! Hope you find bunches of gold! :) I just got back from my first dredge trip ever and had a blast, even though the weather was mostly awful and we had to leave just as we broke down to bedrock.

  • thanks! i had a long three hours dredging, found a nice back water spot and a deep crack in the bed rock. saw color but don't know how much yet. i almost sank my dredge 0nce going down and twice going back up. what a day. will post soon after the clean up is done. i have about half of a 5 gal bucket to go through. its the best part i think!

and way to go on your days dredging the effects made it well worth the addition to my favorites!

  • i had fun , and you did a good job on taping. just wish you didnt get that boo boo. falling.....

  • Had a great day hun love seeing you do things you injoy doing
