  • you miss one of my favorite filipino when i am in grade school i buy instant cook food in the street for only 5 pesos in 1991, im in love with that food coz it is the delicacies of luzon and my parents are in visayas, who live in manila when i grow up i look at these food in mall at GOLDILOCKS and it is finally called LAING it is a gabby leaves cut with gata and pork it is spicy.........when you eat that you will in love with that food

  • thank you for visiting our country and posting your video about your experience! I hope you come back again... :)

  • I'm planning to retire there.

  • I like balot so much!

  • It was okay, not something I'd ever have a craving for, but okay.

  • hehe.. i'm filipino but i don't really eat balot.. the yellow part is fine with me though

  • do people have high cholesterol in the philippines? the foods sound oily!

  • I dunno! I have seen many old timers there, though.

  • we filipinos do like a lot of fried foods but we're actually quite health-conscious nowadays so the no-cholesterol oils etc. are often used. ;)

  • I was age 10-12 at the time&I grew to love some of the acquired tastes. The list is too long to mention but I can say that to this day, I never took a liking to bittermelon(ampalaya), balut, and paksiw(fish stew in a vinegar&gingerroot broth.I did enjoy sour, unripe mangos dipped in salty shrimp paste(bagoong)- although it took me awhile reconsider stinky shrimp paste.

  • I know what you mean about some of that. I've done balut, which wasn't as sensational as I presumed (needed some hot sauce). I don't like shrimp at all. You're so right about ampalaya. I don't like it unless there's something about the dish to counter the bitterness. Thanks for commenting.

  • I was there as a child 1988-1990.I remember sampling all the exotic foods that my native cousins introduced me to. We would hop jeepneys&tricycles all afternoon&buy food from street vendors.

  • how was Jolibbe for you??

  • I've never ordered a Champ burger that wasn't hot, tasty, and filling. I enjoy eating there.

  • masarap ang siapoa. ang barbecue anng mga rice cakes. nakaka gutom na man.

  • I'd love to share more about food here in my place (Philippines) that you might have encountered before or not: Sinigang, puto & kutsinta, bibingka, pansit, sapin-sapin, dinuguan, kaldereta, mechado, litson(pork), talaba & tahong(seafood), escabeche, nilaga

  • Oh, I love squid! and pretty much all kinds of sea food...I miss them!

I knew a Philipino family in Canada last summer, they cooked some really good stuff! and they were super nice people and very talented musically!

talking about good time! ^^ Thanks for posting, Ron!

  • Thanks for making me sooo hungry !!!!! Yummm. You left a little piece of your heart in the calimari :)

  • hmmm...did you say that bacon comes from a pigs STOMACH?

  • Pig Belly, that's right! And get this. If it weren't sliced thin, you couldn't chew it.

  • eww
