Those robots as this Qrio, Papero, IRobitQ, Qbo, Apripoko has no enough commercial market so projecs are being cancelled around the world, too expensive, and does the same that one Ipod or a Smart Phone can do with a price 10 times bigger. Sorry I love the robotic, I'm electronic engineer, but till a robot can't wash dishes or make a sandwich I don't see this on homes (as PC in 90's) and all that with a price less than 5000US$, the fucked current economy don't gives for more.

I don't think robots need to be that skilled with their motorics. Pets is an application where robots could be a lot simpler and yet become popular!

Another application is cleaning. For example floors. Or cutting grass. Some artificial intelligence and vision would help performing the tasks. As would obeying voice commands and finding back to recharge station.
