That car worked perfectly, I know this sounds stupid but when a car crashes like that and looks like it tears itself apart, its absorbing the impact. That means less G on the driver, and the drivers compartment is built much tougher so as you see it stays intact and keeps the driver safe, well done Audi
its the ferraris fault. You can see that he wanders right to take the gt2 line through the corner but Mcnish was already commited to that point on the track.
Rules state the if a GT 2 is in front and is trying to be passed by an GT1 or proto that they must not do anything but hold there line and not do anything out of the ordinary.
It is then up to the faster car to make his way through as he sees fit.
@Lazerusman1 I saw the interview of the Ferrari driver he said that he saw only the one Audi behind him so when he looked back to the track to turn into the corner ahead the 2nd Audi had come out of nowhere and into the corner as well.
@fapsqpz - the fact that he (or she) didn't care was his/her luck - stop walkin would have meant be hitted from the falling wheel !!! I think she was a woman - too much slow reactions!

There is a photographer in blue walking away. He must have ear protection in because he does't even flinch.. then a wheel lands a few meters away (probably looks closer than it is). Scary stuff. Glad everyone seems ok.
@lolli952 it wasn't the ferraris fault its the faster cars responsibility to pass the slow car in a safe way, this crash was just a race incident that shows how hard it is tu juge distance and speed of another car
@blixtenkarting Yeah but anyway, the farrari should let the Audi # 1 overtake and it didnt. this accident wouldt happend if the ferrari unobserved the Le Mans rules
@lolli952 actually, the leader audi realize the dangerous situation and decide to wait and overtake when it's safe. mcnish was in 2nd, and was only 1st position 1 second. the ferrari cannot be blamed for this in any way, as he saw before the corner that the audi backed off, from there the ferrari had very limited view through his rear view mirror. mcnish came out of nowhere and took both out. lucky nobody got hurt.
i thought it was suposed to be super light weight but they were clearly having trouble flipping it over
