The hybrid systems in the Merc and the BMW had been co-developped by both companies, which still means that the product development/adjustment of the hybrid they implant in the BMW is BMW engineered. They would not allow anybody but themselves fumble around in the core techn. i.e.
On March 1, 2007, BMW and DaimlerChrysler announced that they are expanding their partnership and moving quickly to develop a mild hybrid module for rear wheel drive premium cars....now go home boy!!!!
Mercedes produces engine for some hybrids in 7 series!
