Dion was more of a "my way or the highway" leader than Harper. Dion had no support from within his party for his "green shift" and yet presented it anyways and forced everyone to do it too.
Ignatieff and Rae admitted it.
If he doesn't listen to his own supporters, what chance would Canada ever have with him? lol
I couldn't help but notice the that Stephen Harper wasn't involved with that meeting in any way shape or form. If his government was so deeply concerned about the environment, you'd think he'd send one of his cronies in to the meeting as opposed to his main rival.
Are your Greens crazy ideologues like ours? The leader of the Australian Greens appeared on national TV supporting Mugabe and his policies. They also do cool stuff like opposing wind farms (not directly of course - they oppose building the road you need to build the wind farm). Between the climate change deniers and the Greens hijacking the debate to further thier neo-pagan religeous beliefs and insane socio-economic theories we are truly doomed.
We're in the same situation as you. If the liberals or the greens (thankfully a long long shot) get in they would drive our country into the ground in the interest of saving cute seals or something stupid. "save the planet" at all costs
the conservatives say the the liberals didn't go far enough, then they turn and go backwards scared that it will cut into todays profits of bizness but what good are todays profits if there is economy tomorow
Dion is an impressive individual who the country has yet to get to know properly. (The pre-emptive smear campaign launched by the present government only shows how well aware it is of his potential to end their time in office.) He will be a great Canadian leader.
Excellet! I believe in Dion more than ever! He is a fresh start for Canada and the Liberals, the one who can turn this country around, and make it unique as it once was before Harper decided to take the U.S approch to govern Canada. I observed that he is an easy-going and very intelligent individual with a fierce love for his country. I have great expectation from him and I know he will not fail the hopes of any Canadian. Dion is a true Canadian leader.
let's be more particular here. Dion was not environment minister for the last 13 years. Will you admit that? Dion was Environment minister for only slightly longer than Harper has already been in office. Will you admit that? Dion is now liberal leader, and he has a different record than do the liberals. Will you admit that?

Dion is Amazing though, simultaneously a weak push over and pushing his own agenda. At least he didn't try to declare coalitions illegal...

Brilliant! Anyone who doubts Dion's environmentalism needs to watch this video.

I don't think anyone doubts his PASSION on the subject... the question is did the Liberal Party get anything done? The answer is NO.
starminis 5 years ago
So does this logic apply regardless of the fact that there is now new leadership over the liberal party?
