  • it took me more than 20 minutes to watch the all video.....that CAN'T be an average high school

  • America, you're so derp.

  • Yikes.

  • "I would like to give great thanks, to the God who made the class of 2011 a great success." Yes because the deity who created the universe (supposedly) cares about your high school.

  • Curses and invocations...that's all christians seem to be able to spew.

Even though neither has any power, the former is offensive and the latter is idiotic.

This vid is a clear demonstration of xtians having a fit over a perfectly legitimate request and striking back with a vengeance.

And what about this kid who, upon coming home, found his belonging on the front porch? How christian is that?

Xtians worship a real loving and forgiving big daddy in the sky... yeah right!

  • Good for that kid, standing up for his rights. I hope that someone is helping him out with this.

  • Retarded

    Evil

    Lying

    Insane

    Gross

    Overlooked

    Nonsense

  • @Vierzbanator ...that's rough. You missed an i.

  • if god should be able to hear their prayers anyway why do they need to say the lord's prayer in school?

  • Thank you very much for this video.

  • Ah shit,

For those of you commenting about the wildfires, those were in Bastrop, Texas, and this school is in Bastrop, Louisiana. But hey, it's just another Jesus-obsessed place that natural disasters should not be happening in if their god was real.

  • so sick of religion... wake the fuck up people...

  • This disgusts me to my very core. This disgusting act is just too much

  • I didnt know religious people in US are so arrogant and ignorant. They connect success with God helping them instead of just their own work. And then the people who are not believing in God but might have even more success are just socially excluded.

What kind of morons lead your schools? How could you accept that?

  • @RebelSoldat1 ... Christians and Muslims believe in the same god. ... ... and if you wanted to use names, Christians call God Yahweh.

  • Hmm, God sure is watching over Bastrop. Those wildfires were a big sign of just how much he's watching over them

  • Sometimes I'm so happy to be European.

  • @RebelSoldat1 So you'd be fine if a Muslim lead the prayers correct?

  • @tigerglebe they'd probably stripsearch him for explosives.

  • This makes me so angry, that I have no currently available curse to utter. I am forced to wait 20 years until a suitable curse word has been invented.

  • WOW, I would have been so INSULTED as to have some lousy individual that my success and grades were not due to my hard work and time management skills, but to some other lousy being. No dignity nor pride must those seniors have.

  • @RebelSoldat1 uhh... many also owned human beings....whats your point?

  • @RebelSoldat1 Founding fathers were deists.

  • "Give thanks to the God that made the class of 2011 great." Right. The students didn't do it by studying or working hard. The teachers didn't do it by teaching the information properly. It was God. He really had to sacrifice, too! God had to choose between helping a bunch of American Christians do well in school (because he knows they wouldn't without his help!), allowing a small African child to find a scrap of food, or preventing a woman in India from being sold into sex slavery. Clear choice.

  • @werebee Remember, God works in "mysterious ways". Its all part of his "plan." Puh-fucking-leaze. The Christian God is not only a fictional figure, its a hypocritical and selfish fictional figure.

  • i realize all to well now, why the framers of the constitution understood the insanity of religion and its absolute inability to tolerate opposing veiws. these people genuinely believe they have a right to do this.

  • i never was this angry before, THIS PEOPLE WILL ONE DAY REGRET IT, and i will be one of those who will laugh at them :) thanks for the incredible videos

  • This story made me rather angry.

  • Couldn't even finish the video, I was so disgusted by these people...

  • Below perfect, before I pray like sheep and goats. Go learn what this means.

  • Sometimes i wish that we should just gather all religius nutjobs on an island somewhere and just leave em there.

Where i come from we used to have the graduation cermony in a curch, and not once was a prayer uttered, in a bloody curch.

  • This is why I don't use my real name in my emails and use a fake name on Facebook. ;/

I really feel for Damon Fowler, my mom called me "atheist bitch" just for asking questions and threatened to kick me out of the house, and when I said I was an atheist in school the teacher became irate, even though she was the one that brought it up, and I was threatened with being sent to the office unless I shut up. I very much wish I hadn't "shut up", but I didn't really have anyone to back me up either.

  • People chanting has always given me the creeps. Be it "the lords prayer" or "Kahli MAA, KAHLI MAAAA", its the same shit to me.

  • I'm so glad that this kind of bullshit has never come up in my school career here in Canada. I think I've heard the word prayer mentioned once in my school, probably asking us to console and pray for the guy who was doubly dismembered by a train. What's worse, I don't know if we even have an equivalent of the first amendment, and frankly, I've never needed it. That salient fact makes me feel both happy and incredibly sorry for American atheists.

  • 6:12 - we're looking at you Tim Tebow.

  • Behold! The U.S.A aka Land of the Sheep!

(not all of you, but what is going on!)

  • I'm embarrassed that I live in such backwords, hillbilly country

  • Look christians if Atheist's respect your beliefs you should respect Atheists -___-

  • People piss me off.

  • 200 students saying they should stand up against 1 student, very brave...

  • @MrDrussK His accent was beautiful. You could just taste the asshole Christian redneck in it.

  • The problem isn't religion, it is some religions.

People have no problem with religions like Buddhism, Daoism, Shintoism or any other religions from the East because they act more like ethical guidance and philosophy rather than claiming to know the answers to everything and makes people feel insignificant.

  • @Ravensteinzh isnt that more of a philosophy than a theology though : P

  • @azmanabdula Yes but religion doesn't mean theology. A religion doesn't need to have a god or churches to be one.

  • @Ravensteinzh "Buddhism, Daoism, Shintoism " are they really religions in the common sense?

or a philosophy of living in harmony?

  • @azmanabdula It depends on your definition of religion. In many regards it is a religion as well as a philosophy.

  • @Ravensteinzh i will have to disagree....then any thought system can be made into a religion : P

    just thinking about it......strange concept!

  • @azmanabdula

I'll simplify "belief in supernatural = religion"

  • @Panzerfisting thats an easier nail to hit......

  • The fact they did the Lord's Prayer pisses me the fuck off. They have NO RIGHT as others have said to shove their assinine believes. What the hell happened to a secular democracy?

  • Fuck NBC. I don't care how amazing The Office is.

  • It's because of this kind of christian fascism and hypocrisy that turns some people away from religion in the first place.

  • I am an atheist, but i would have gone up there, taken the mic, and seen what their reaction was if i did a prayer of another religion... maybe islam or buddhism.... I am pretty sure they would become ignorant hypocrites and tell me that i can not do that because of the constitution..... and never notice that they were doing it themselves.

  • Fundies... gotta love them. Great satire material.

  • It's so brave of those speakers to stand up and say they won't be swayed by good taste. No, they will proudly declare that they are part of an obviously overwhelming local majority, no matter the consequences.

  • Total pwnage at the end of thos video. It is clear that religion is generally just a way for ignorant people to massage their own egos. They don't give a shit about what the bible really says, just how they can take chunks of it and interpret them to agree with their own beliefs. Then they can say "I'm following the right path, my beliefs are objectively correct, the creator of the universe agrees with me"

  • Using the bible, just 1 verse away from the quoted verses used by hypocrites, to point out that they are hypocrites. Pwnage.

  • cannot believe this at all!! So glad that we have separation of church and state in this Republic! This type of hypocritical arrogance of these people is annoying as hell through. Why? Becomes it is a big deal! This is a public, secular institution that is paid for by the people of that state and the nation any prayer regardless to what Religion or Deity is unconstitutional!! Congrats to Damon for having the courage to stand up for what is right.

  • brainwashed zombies, thats all religion does to people

  • @JusBenLawyered Was the school using that right as a loophole? Absolutely, and I think they are disgusting. But I do think that student free speech is important. However, the school did try to silence the atheist student and that was awful.

  • @JusBenLawyered When a school gives a microphone to a student, that student has a right to pray if they want. Was

  • Im sitting here at the Bastrop website. Im considering sending this video to every teacher at that shit hole they like to call a educational institution. Though it would be a lie to say this hasnt outraged me to the point of violence. This was an injustice, one that will never be payed for. And that angers me greatly.

  • If everyone on the planet was civil, intelligent an open-minded then I think a world without religion would be a better place. However most people need religion because they're too God damn stupid to think for themselves..

  • Its like they're saying "All Your Base Are Belong To Us,...."

  • Disgusting and infuriating....i could not watch any more than a couple of minutes.

  • I always feel conflicted about these sorts of things, on the one hand I want to insult and ridicule these people until I run out of insults, but on the other I don't want to stoop to their level. Gah these people make me angry.

  • People still do the "hoo hoo hoo" thing LMFAO.

  • Darkmatter who makes the lovable baby Jeffery sounds really venomous and hate filled in this LOL.

  • More vociferous and voracious anti-Christian garbage being spew from anarchists, atheists and every anti-culture destroyer of civilization.

  • @theone1087 Ah you must be christian... you have this way with your words that SCREAMS im a Christian! Believe me or i will kill you! ha ha

  • @theone1087 obvious troll is obvious

  • Watching people pray in mass numbers give me the chills. It is like seeing brain washed people in action.

  • @alqazaha1 I was totally thinking the same thing! its creepy looking and sounding! it reminded me of the old hilter videos with thousands chanting in unison. and the crazy people holding their hands up is weird. I would have gotten up and done something if i was a student at the graduation

  • Was the ACLU contacted and could they have done anything about it?

  • What European country accepts foreigners? I might move once I have enough money. I don't wanna be infected by the stupidity of my fellow anericans

  • I think it's awful what the school did to that atheist student. I am agnostic. However, the school did not violate the Constitution if those were students leading everyone in prayer. If it was a teacher or administrator, then that would be a problem. However, when students are allowed to speak at events, they have the free speech to say whatever they want, including a prayer of any kind. I am a teacher, I have my masters in Education. I know all about school law.

  • @KoachKrab127 Ah yes but it was about the school Promoting and supporting the prayer which as you know is illegal. now the real question is why would they let one student (christian) pray and not maybe a hindu child or a islam child? it was just atheist vs theist it was that the PUBLIC school was supporting the prayer of a single religion and alienating those who may not have the same beliefs. A core principle to the american way of life.

  • @KoachKrab127 Having a masters in education is far different then knowing the constitution. A bum on the street could well know more about the constitution and its laws then a harvard graduate who studied to teach chemistry. A book can be read inside and OUTSIDE a class room. you only have to pay for the book not the class room that may teach it. A teacher can be a helpful tool in learning but it is not a mandatory necessity.

  • This turned into a reason for christians to be butt hurt and express pseudo-courage.

  • I feel sorry for fellow intelligent beings who are unfortunate to be stuck in America with people like that...

  • I am debating a theist right now any things yall want me to bring up. This is my way of asking for pointers

  • @Gerow100 The Ark.

  • @MordieSG I did but of course "God" made everything okay and possible for this to happen.

  • @Gerow100

pointers=dont debate with thiests. especially not ignorant ones.

  • And this is why I hate America... goddamn. I just became a little more atheist today ._. I feel so bad for this kid.

  • Fuck religion. Our money might as well say: "In Unicorns We Trust". Our species is so backwards.

  • @Anthony1324576890 Hey! Don't talk down about the unicorns!

  • @Anthony1324576890 hey dont mock us....this is the U.S not the entire species : (

  • My school makes us pray even though we have kids of all different religion and before I went to the school people had complained but the school refused to change it

  • I wish just one fucking atheist would've went up and took the damned microphone away from any of these damned things and just fucking ranted about how stupid this shit is why the fuck should I be civil or any other atheist when they are so irrational sure you look smarter to other atheists but these kids have to deal with this shit fuck it I would be the biggest asshole I could be fuck'em they should stop beleiveing in fucking fairytales.

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 You know, if I ever were to go to America, I might bash in in such a thing :3

  • @Freakphone haha well good I just hate how they do this is all im not a bad guy just hate when people treat others like shit for no real reason is all.

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 absolutely, i would get 666 tattooed on my forehead....

(probably would later regret though it would piss off so many people, and when a christian starts a fight, use it to your advantage)

  • lol "elbow form the sky"? xD

  • What was that verse in the Bible about praying in your closet alone? Something about being a hypocrite by flaunting your faith?

  • @ShadowBlah2 Ah, I didn't finish the video before posting that last comment. Well, my mind was on the right track then.

  • @ShadowBlah2 Oops, I didn't finish the video before writing the comment. At least my mind was headed in the right direction.

  • WTF! It`s like looking into the past. We Europeans passed this stage in the middle ages. How come you are still stuck in there???

  • @Junkyjoe999no Where do you think the fundie retards went after you guys ran them out? Now those of us with a clue have to deal with them over here.

  • @xdassinx you`re going to make it :-) I BELIEVE in you..

  • @Junkyjoe999no not many of them seem to know that there are two creation stories, one immediately following teh other, in which adam + eve are created simultaneously.

it seems clear most christians can't even have read the first TWO CHAPTERS.

  • @Junkyjoe999no It's a pretty obvious answer if you look closely at American history. The original settlers, the Puritans, Pilgrims, Amish, etc. all fled England. Why? Because their country suddenly changed from its catholic roots to the Anglican Church. They decided to find a place wherein they could continue to hold on to their old beliefs and not have to change with the times. America's tradition is that of obstinacy and the freedom to not change at all.

  • @Junkyjoe999no It's mostly like this in the south. Liberal states tend to be more secular.

  • @Junkyjoe999no Well, the Pilgrims (Puritans) left the old world because they weren't allowed to discriminate against other Christian groups and part of the reason for the American War of Independence was because the French Canadiens were allowed to continue their way of life after the 7 Years War (French and Indian war to those of you in North America)

  • @Junkyjoe999no : We're stuck with the dumbasses.

  • @Junkyjoe999no its fucking madness!

you must love this, like looking through the hour glass and going back through time

  • Doesn't matter where but whenever I see people praying as a large group it seriously creeps me out.

  • @Xiknyn "one of us, one of us, one of us".

  • What a retarded university to promote that nonsense. Looks like people don't come out smarter. Or maybe they were really really dumb before and have now improved a bit. Who knows?

  • They are so UN-American. Blessings and all the friends. Ask the atheist kid about blessings and friends about now.

  • I love how the news woman says there will be no prayer bc "one boy "claims" to be an atheist."...claims? lol what about all the ppl "claiming" to be christian. For ppl who claim to "respect" others beliefs they sure son't act like it. In fact they are as intolerant and ignorant about other religions and atheists as the KKK and the SS were about blacks and jews. How they cannot see this is proof of how far removed they are from reality.

  • take away everything that science gives us we would be left with rekigion and prayers basicaly we would have to move back into caves without science

  • @coltsrule5150 what the hell is "rekigion" and what does "basicaly" mean?

  • @Blade10201 well since you clearly have no powers of deduction i will explain it to you l

there are these things called typos that happen when someone is trying to type something and move on

now since your mind couldnt conect the dots ill do it for you

rekigion = religion if you notice k is right next to l

basically i simply didnt type l twice hope you understand this better and im sorry about your mental condition..im sure science will fix it some day

  • funny how freedom of religion only works for christians when it is convenient for them. i have spoken to Damon and from what it seems he has very supportive siblings. at least he has that. the problem i have with this whole thing is that christians want to be able to pray in public, schools whatever. atleast some do. but i bet if say a muslim or jew or any other religious person wanted the same, all hell would break loose. its time for the double standards to end.

  • @Killermolls44 Very true.

  • how would you know what jesus thinks of us?

it is amusing that every christian is so presumptious to know what god & jesus want of us or think of us.you continue to shove youre messages of intolerance down the throats of those who refuse to think like you, hiding behind the bible.

why do you feel so threatened by atheists?might it be that your faith in your almighty god is not as big as you pretend it to be?

  • America - A nation of retards. No, seriously it's absolutely disgusting for normal people to watch these superstisious people stuffing their naive and stone age beliefs down other people's throats.

  • @Lermasd ill agree with you half way. im american and i agree that a lot of us are retarded, but don't throw us all in one bucket cause there are still people with enough sense to realize that the bible is a book and nothing more.

  • @Lermasd Try living here with these idiots. I get hated by other countries because of the bible thumpers running the country i happened to be born in. HELP lol

  • @Lermasd Does that count canda and mexico?

  • @Lermasd I'm genuinely depressed by the fact that I'm an American, even though I'm an intelligent and in no way religious individual.

  • @Lermasd i wish i could move

  • I feel so bad for him. Disowned by his parents? And still disrespected at his graduation? Publicly chastised for his beliefs? Poor kid, he got a 25k dollar scholarship, but that can't even come close to compensating for him. Kid has got some Gonads.

  • LOL the fake christians on youtube are the first ones to judge others.A real christian (my dad)does not care for atheist like me he sees them all the same without judging.First thing i here is your going to hell fake christians and they dont know they might be going to.They should study there bible more and obey word par word.

  • I fought for this country, and I am seriously tired of people attempting to circumvent the rights of others to bend to the will of one... sorry, that is not right whatsoever, and while this video attempts to push the view that these Christians overstepped any boundary, or that they pushed a religious belief on another person, in reality it is the one person that was attempting to alter a ceremony that has gone unchanged for their own personal reasons.

  • @mcalhoun2187 It wasn't "bent for one" read the consitution you were sworn to defend against and enemy foreign or domestic, mainly this one The Establishment Clause, as no preference to one religion over another. So it is either all or none to be ...."endorsed"...by the school....free exercise of that right is not in question. Just imagine if the majority (of the campus) were Muslim or Hindu or...Satanic, would you as a Christian have a problem with that? A Prayer led by the faculty to Molech?

  • @mcalhoun2187 Its not the one circumventing the rights of many, its the other way around. If you want to pray do it on your own time. A school graduation is not a church service. Also, I can guarantee you that he was not alone, he was just the only person brave enough to speak out. Many atheists hide their true beliefs because of people like you and the people in this video.

  • I am very sorry, but if the atheists cannot stand being in a nation founded by Christians with christian fundamentals, you might want to go ahead and choose another country to live in.

  • @mcalhoun2187 If that would happen there would be only dumbfucks left in america ,97% of current population estimated.Still the jails would be full xD.

  • @mcalhoun2187 Most of the founders were diests- also take note...The 1796 Treaty with Tripoli states that the United States was "not in any sense founded on the Christian religion" Most people moved to America to be free, I think that you should read what you've written and do some studies relating to Americas history.

  • @mcalhoun2187 How American of you. You forget that not all the founders were Christians and that they made sure that religion would stay out of public affairs. No one is saying you can't pray, just do it on your own time.

  • @mcalhoun2187 i am very sorry ,but we atheists grow in numbers every day, thanks to the intolerance you christians preach.

you might want to go ahead and hide behind the bible which you so misinterpret, but the rest of us has learned to think for ourselves.

  • Are there really this "majority" of sick people who would object to prayer in school? If there is anybody or anything largely responsible for the rot and stagnation of our declining society it's what is being expressed on this page.

  • @Broadsmore As for declining society, that is partially true, I for one went to the other side of Europe (Bulgaria) like many more Dutch people or Danish even because it's scarcely populated and considerably more liveable than some areas back in Holland. Also more jobs and overal more intelligent people, they don't take shit from anyone be it muslims or batshit-crazy christians. Oil dependency is largely ignored but we're starting to feel it lol

  • But that isn't to day that we atheists are depressed, in fact I feel that I have a stronger sense of enjoying life and see how truly lucky I am to be here... How our ancestors survived against all odds, that just the fact that we are alive right now is the same chance as winning the lottery. Ten times in a row. With the same numbers.

  • Is this video truly in the 21st century? Where humans have stopped using the logic of drowning witches where "if they drown they're not a witch but if they float, they are?" I mean... It's just so depressing... Especially for us atheists to have such an astounding sense of realism and rationale... Only to be considered heathens and heartless monsters by those around us... Ignorance truly is bliss... Because your family, friends, and community would feel that they are right... Sigh...

  • That was a really horrible thing to do to that kid. I hope his alright.

  • thumbs up if you are contacting these hypocrites

  • @Ridleysama I don't have a choice, I have to. Why don't you go tell some starving Africans to just not be hungry? Idiot, think or stfu.

  • I'm so glad I dont live in the US but in Europe, where most people are atheist and therefore more open-minded and intelligent.

I don't think we would think Americans are stupid if the US had more atheism, religions only dumben down the masses and cause people to do stupid things, which in turn causes us in Europe to think most Americans are like that. I know there are some very bright Americans out there and hope more will brighten up the coming years. Don't tolerate stupidity and ignorance.

  • @alex007152 You've got it backwards. Open-mindedness and intelligence lead to atheism. Not the other way around.

  • @321cheeseman Yes, and then you get even more open-minded and intelligent after the rejection of deities :P

When religious people say to be open-minded I wonder if they had been thus far open minded as having had their brains leak out. As for intelligence I'd say the statistics regarding the correlation between atheism and intelligence speak for themselves.

  • @alex007152

    " I'm so glad... ....open-minded and intelligent."

Then maybe you can tell me why it is that Europe is in a more rapid decline since the dark ages. Why Isalm is literally taking over whole communities and neighborhoods. Why your "intelligent' welfare state is bankrupting the Europeon Union. Why the UN which is located in the US but reflects "Europeon' mindthink collectively yet wants to see another jewish holocasust.. Maybe you can explain those things to me.

  • @Broadsmore Why sure I can, starting with the fact that you must be an idiot to think the UN is working towards ethnic cleansing of some 14 million Jewish people. Islam is just as insane as Christianity and muslims must obey our secular laws if they want to live here. Further, you clearly have no idea of how life in medieval Europe was like. We live considerably longer and healthier (3x longer infact). We're in "decline" because of absolute oil dependancy and various stupid corporations.

  • This is appalling...

  • Seeing this makes me quote professor Farnsworth...

"I don't want to live on this planet anymore."

  • @Badassdude1234 you, my good sir, are awesome

  • @TheSturdyWall No I shouldn't. Your opinion isn't law, law is law. I standing is a sign of respect and agreement. I don't respect or agree with the pledge. It's un-American. Separation of church and state is written into the constitution...

  • "I respect those who are of different faiths, even though I am a Christian,"

Great job, she sounds like a nice young lady.

    "However,"

    Oh fuck no...

"I would like to thank the god..."

    Shit. Fuck. Stupid. Bitch.

  • I have some asshole teacher who makes me stand up for the pledge at school. Now I know that I can't do anything about it, even though it is explicitly illegal for her to make me stand according to Virginia state law.

  • @purplederple Well, you should stand for the Pledge anyways. For respectful reasons.

  • @purplederple Then don't stand.

  • Now that is a fine example of savage hypocrisy.

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck all this retarded religious douche

  • Holy fuck.. its just simple to be an atheist

  • Owned!

  • if i were him, i would just turn up the volume

  • You can RATE the teacher, Mitzi Quinn here:

    ratemyteachers[dot]com[slash]mitzi-quinn[slash]1503804-t

There are her ratings thus far:

    Overall Easiness: 1.5

    Overall Helpfulness: 2.0

    Overall Clarity: 2.0

    Overall Popularity: 0

Personally, I think this teacher should have the worst rating possible.

  • PWNED!

  • Why is it that most atheists have a better general knowledge of the bible? >.>

If you are going to be christian/religious at least bother to know what you believe in... Don't just follow blindly ~ Justanotheratheist

  • @Zeb612 Most don't read it and just mindlessly follow what the pastor at their local church is saying. My parents are like this, but when I read them 'bad' passages of the bible they resent it and try to ignore me.... *sign*
