  • you know the music is one of my favorite parts of the show! great job and hope to see another episode soon! :D

  • The music (aside from the intro, which is Loituma's Ievan Polka) is done by a fantastic band called Faithful Henry, which the co-creator, Vlad, is the main member of.

You can see their stuff at myspaceDOTcom/faithfulhenry.

  • this episode is all about playing with words. and, yes, the music is just perfect.

  • Wow! A series on youtube of that good quality! I mean, I'm sure you guys can probably sell it to some Television Network! But don't! Because it might just ruin the series you know?

    Great work!

  • I agree.

But you should check out my web series' too. They've just started, episodes 2 will be better. But still!

Please tell me what you think

  • bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

  • I hate the music too.

But that irritation is part of the show for me.

Kind of the vegetables you have to eat before you get dessert.

What's the deal with that pixelated painting in Chase's house. If you did it just to be odd or are lampooning reality TV that DOES do it for that reason, that was my favorite part. If you did it because you had to, I'll go back in time and pick something else.

  • It's a reference to a joke in a previous episode where David says, "He's got a painting of himself up there, and he's not wearing anything...!"

Nothing we do NEEDS to be done, of course. We don't bleep the curse words out of necessity or blur anything to not offend -- we do it for the joke.

  • Ah, I missed that.

Good writing is like that. If you watch a good show more than once, you'll see new things.

If I'd seen it a second time, maybe I'd catch it. As it is, Break a Leg will be sharing a role in my being laid off for too much "personal surfing".

Proudly hang your heads in shame, BreakALeg crew.

  • Ha! We proudly will sir, we proudly will!

  • no offense, but your intro music is really really annoying. i've watched a few in a row and in the beginning i could deal with it, but now it just pisses me off. but otherwise, the show is good enough to waste time with(and i understand you probably can't change the music now since you got 7 or whatever episodes, but it is really annoying.).

  • That is, of course, a matter of opinion. A lot of people really enjoy the music -- but thanks for your thoughts. I'm glad we could waste your time!

  • For the record I think the music is awesome.

  • Why thank you!

  • I too, think that the music is awesome

  • This is not funny. Honest

  • Well, okay. That's fair.

  • a much better use for this song then "leekspin"

  • BAl is still experimenting and learning and that's a great thing...and promising....if it was perfectly crafted to please everyone it wouldn't be so unique...

  • That's Cool that Mr Tumnus is a fan that is going to the trouble of analyzing Break a Leg's humor...it feels more like a compliment than a critique in a way...I liked the bear bit and the flashback especially actually...but I can see where you're going with the silliness for silliness sake...it can be overkill sometimes...but that is just one person's opinion....other people might prefer things to be less relevant and more silly(Ie less confusing plot points which BAL can be rife with)

  • the humor is much much more silly. the K news were funny, the porn galaxy was nice. ... the only thing funny about the flashback was the censored picture on the wall. and a bear? just a stupid joke. only for the running joke of "he was... so big"? everytime you do a joke like that you ruin the reality of the story and the credibility of the characters and world, and that hurts the comedy. go back to more realistic situations and jokes!

  • MrTumnus, completely disagree with you. There's nothing to go back to -- the show has always been and will continue to be silly. The whole world is absurd and not "real," so an article in a tabloid mag featuring Chase and saying "Bear attacks family!" is completely legitimate in the Breakalegaverse. That being said, have you read your local celebrity gossip mags lately? They have much stranger stories than this.

  • Im well aware of the silliness of the BaL world. and its good. and its funny. but I feel that a joke like that is forced. the girl in the class room believed chase was a bear?? come on! a very long flashback of chase ignoring david?? Im sorry but in my opinion thats sacrificing the credibility of the world for a joke thats not funny. Its whay happens in good sitcoms after a few seasons.

  • like arrested development (WHICH I LOVE! all of the seasons!!) but generally the jokes on S3 were sillier, and moments like that really hurt the show.

I mean, theres SO MUCH to go back to. Klaudio and Humphry are the same person and NO ONE notices except of david? thats BRILLIANT. thats silly in a good way. thats a gold mine for comical situations. and even if you feel differently I suppose you can understand that I want more clever and subtle humor and there were nearly none in this ep...

  • But that's just the thing... There's really no arguing the "that was funny and that wasn't" point. Different people find different things funny. The valid question is whether these scenes break the "reality" of break a leg, and I don't think they do -- I don't think they're sillier than the coffee fetchers guild doing executions, CAG living in the sewers, or nobody noticing that Humphrey/Claudio are the same person, for that matter.

  • good point. and I didnt like the execution thing... I think there are differences. and the first episode, which I think was the best, was more realistic than all the rest.

and Im aware that everyone find different things funny. I gave my opinion (Which I feel compelled to do with any piece of art) to the considiration of the creators. surly they are interested to hear every opinion of their fans (they handled pretty well even the obnoxiouse ones XD).

  • Don't get me wrong -- you opinion is definitely welcome and I can't argue with what you liked and what you didn't. I mainly wanted to address your point of consistency in the bal world, as it's actually something Yuri and I talk about a lot. (this is Vlad btw, in case I didn't make that clear from the beginning :])

  • As far as more realism goes... Don't know if I can promise you that (although I guess it depends on what you consider realistic). That being said, there are definitely rules to the world -- there have to be, otherwise it's sketch comedy. With these specific scenes though... I still don't see them as being outside of the realm of bal possibility, so I think we may have to agree to disagree ;)

  • I guess so =P

when I watched this episode I didnt see the characters being funny or doing things that are funny. I saw the actors being (or trying to be) funny. thats what Im saying basically... to try and explain why this is different than lets say claudio/humphry.. its hard for me to explain. so maybe it is more of a personal taste.. maybe because the unrealistic things in this ep doesnt really have a point, just an attempt to be funny :/

sorry, I sould shut up now.

  • Man hammer! Genius!

  • Man Hammer is slang for cock kids!

  • the best back to school anything that didn't involve the triple lindy

  • Awsome guys! lol and i do wish i went to school there

  • I LOVE YOU, KNIFE!

  • Ahahaha porn galaxy. Amazing.

  • God I wish I went to school there.

I love the shorter episodes idea even more now that I see it in action!

    Congratulations, everybody, I love it

  • LOL! XD "u look like a rapist" that was just hilarious! this is great i wish i was one of those kids...

  • This episode was just amazing! It was freakin hilarious, and the way the plot is moving just pleases me more and more!

  • Thank you!!

  • Knife I love you! The K news segment looks really good and the wait was worth it!!!

  • Woot, so glad chase is back. I've been stuck watching my Swambler reruns. Such a good show...

  • Very funny. The Broommates concert was fantastic.

  • Why is episode 4 so much shorter than the other episodes? I miss the full-length episodes.

Although it's good to see Chase back. I had to go rent a copy of The --- Goes To Town just to get my Chase fix.

  • Don't worry, it's really just a naming thing. Episodes 4-8 will be out weekly (stay tuned for 5 next week), and will be roughly equivalent to the "acts" of before, only hopefully more viewable as standalone episodes.

  • I totally forgot to add "Do you have the notes from 5th period?" was brilliant.

Also: where did you get all those kids from?

  • The kids were fantastic -- all from the high school where we shot. They did it as extra credit and had a blast. Watch out for the "notes" kid -- he'll be back, several times, in fact.

  • sweet

  • That girl's pretty great too.

  • Yes! She also returns. She's hilarious.

  • Oh jesus, there are so many reasons why their reactions to manhammer is horrified, and they all are lultacular.

  • Funny!

  • Funny funny stuff!

  • Excellent video! Loved every minute of it!

    Especially loved "man-handle". That's a classic moment.

  • Manhammer? Though, I have no doubt that "manhandle" will probably appear in a future episode.

  • awesome. glad it's back!

  • The pacing is probably the best of all the episodes.

    The beginning was perfect!

  • Thanks! We really focused on tightening up the pace in this one.

  • Yeah, keep it at the current level, it's wonderfully balanced.

  • BAL is back!!!!!!!!!!! JOY!!!!!

  • My friends, I'm so glad you're not dead!

    "Indiana Jones" humor? Anyone?

Another awesome episode. Glad to see Chase back to "normal" (in quotes because that term is so relative around here).

  • "You're not dead to me!"

  • What, you didn't thoroughly enjoy bearded Chase?

  • I did.

  • Actually, I was more concerned with the emo hair he had going there.

I'm the last person to deny someone a beard.

  • Oh dear lord, I couldn't stop laughing, this had so many rewarding jokes for long-time fans. And the gratuitous swishes and sound effects in the opening were the cleverest joke I've ever seen about clip shows.

  • As sound supervisor, I am really really really happy to see people appreciated the whoosh sound effects!

  • Thanks! Mr. Dashiell Reinhardt did the K? segment and nailed the hell out of it. We're all really happy with it.

  • this is teh awesome

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • ps: Jennifer, nice beard.

  • You can't see it, but he also has a cape. Jennifer is very snazzy in this episode.

  • Oh my god. I'll have to rewatch it and imagine that it's there.

  • This was a great episode!

Spelled my name wrong in the Special Thanks though :(

It's Taylor GenoVese. That's OK, I'll forgive you because the show is so goddamn awesome :P.

  • We'll fix it in the next one! Promise!

  • Great episode!

  • So glad they're back with new episodes. Great stuff. "Manhammer" is hilarious.
