  • " infra blue " Wow ! what a great guitarists album !

  • Couldn't really hear him until he started soloing

  • così si tiene la chitarra!

  • razor thin tone..hurts my ears

  • First he tries to sound like Tony MacAlpine, and then like Michael Lee Firkins? Sheesh!

  • awesome

  • i really dont like this guys style

  • Joey Tafolla is not a very famous guitarist in Hong Kong but he is really good.

  • boring

  • horrible, cant listen to this generic half ass shred

  • Is tat Shawn Micheals on drums? :D

  • For all the guys out there saying this is satch boogie stuff.. do some research about Joey, cause he had a great influence in Blues as his dad was quite a famous blues artist...

  • @RonWust what was his dad's name =o

  • @RonWust WHERE DO YOU FIND RESEARCH ABOUT JOEY?!?!?!!? I've been searching aimlessly for 10 years!!

  • @vincentizghra What kind of information are you looking for?

  • @RonWust Well, his webpage has been saying "New Homepage Coming Soon", and since the release of Plastic(2001) I have yet to see anything coming from him, so I figured he put the guitar down and started a merchandise firm(JTM), tho that page seems discontinued for some time and says "coming soon". Anything about Joey is interesting to me, did he stop producing forever, is he working as instructor still? is he healthy? I don't mean gossip or media news, I just wanna know he's ok. Love his work

  • Man those synths suck, playing is good though, some nice licks there.

  • He sure can play..... his tone sucks though. But the drummer's EPIC mullet redeems them.

  • Satch Boogie much? lol Sick ass fuck though

  • check @ MADEINMAIDEN guy....fuck man, satriani is my idol and i love him, i heared about this guy like 20 minutes ago, i listened to some of his songs and i can tell you this: you guys who tell for this good song and many other good songs that are copy of something....you didn't hear about ''great minds think alike'' phrase?

  • umm satch boogie

  • hahahahhaha is true

  • joey is great player..this ones a bit like satriani and craig howe

  • Ahahahaha! Craig Howe??

  • Care to explain why? other than the fact you cant pull together a diffrence between the two?

  • great song but i think his tone is a little to bitey if you know what i mean

but good work great song =)

  • i agree

  • Hes pretty awesome but there is somin about his tone im not digging? Could be just the vid sound??Hmm his licks were not perfect but really good !

  • Awesome!

  • first of all, carvin everything rules, i have a few heads and cabs and guitars and mixers, they all are awesome. 2ndly tony macalpine is awesome, 3rdly this song is awesome. does anyone know what joey is doing now?

  • Tafolla currently owns JTM Merchandising, an apparel and gear manufacturing company located in Huntington Beach, California.

    I found this from wikipedia

  • Joey had some great solos with Jag Panzer, the Fourth Judgement album...his "Shadow Thief" solo is one of the best I've heard

  • it's like...his technique is TOO perfect. Every note he plays, he's at maximum comfort in position.

  • yeah tony macalpine too thats why he switched to peavey and now ibanez speaks for itself really. i know i have owned three of them, and believe me its not just my opinion.

  • really? listen to Tony macAlpine then rethink your opinion.

  • y? jason becker even used them? what for?

  • shane gibson can pull out some insane sounds on his carvins...

  • Damned feedback.

  • good player, junky tone.

    truth be told.

  • Good player, really thin sound.

  • the delay out of time is badass XD and the "Open House" lick at 2:58 .. aw well.. but its pretty okay. :D

  • his got some really unique licks using lots of open strings, a great player =] thanks 4 the vid =]

  • favorited!!!

  • I've known joey for years, He truley is one of the greats, a remarkable talent, and a good friend. Go Joey!

  • just gotta ask... is joey still alive? I'm a big fan and have been checking his homepage since 2004... and from 2004, it says "New website comming soon." So if you know, please enlighten me.

  • nice leads good song

  • I really like this stuff, sort of 'outside the box' to what a lot of musicians of this ilk play, excellent stuff. BUT!!! His tone is soooo thin it sets my teeth on edge.

  • ahh...we need more vids of this great man!! post some more whoever has them!!!!

  • Wow, this is the first time I've heard this guitarist, he's incredible.

  • what kind of color does that guitar have? Sounds Green

  • Hahahaha! Sounds Green! :D

  • Muy buen guitarrista de verdad... no lo habia visto... buen estilo y q buena ejecucion!!

  • check yer hearing

  • I can't help but agree with him, he knows how to handle the sound but only through his technique. The behringer guitars of my 7 year old pupils sound like this too if they try it with distortion.

  • hahaha if your 7 year olds sound like this you should send some tapes off to mike varney

  • Great guitarist, that is for sure. His solos with Jag Panzer are killer. Better than the posers on the nu-metal scene---- light years beyond

  • what kind of guitar is that? sound like a carvin

  • by sounds like do u really mean looks like? and by looks like do u really mean u can read the headstock? LOL seriously.. what exactly does a carvin sound like?

  • Like a carvin... LOL

  • @fiskisgod Different pickups or wood for a guitar's body and neck can cause different tone, and different brands may have different combinations of these three factors, causing different brands to have different tones, or 'sounds'.

  • Sorry but it sounds like a bad rip of the Pepper Shake by Greg Howe

  • jajaja, it does sound so much just like that song! Amusing... I like Pepper Shake better. That one slow paced "chorus" segment, not sure what I can call it, hits me real deep. Joey is really damn good too though, I just started listening to his stuff today for the first time.

  • oH NAIS. Dit is prima souffle mit kase.

    prima?! :(

  • amazing guitarist

  • i think this tune is even a bit faster on the infra blue album

  • actually it sounds nothing like joes playing. Joey T seems to like slides alot more BUT they are both Extremely better guitarists than you or I and neither is better than the other...

  • joe and joey play together a LOT and are actually pretty good friends. they've done a few tours together and have done album work together.

my dad is REALLY good friends with Joey T. He goes over to my dad's house all the time.. when i was 6 i used to line up all the pegs on his guitar in a straight line and my mom would wonder why he freaked out cause it was out of tune. the guitar he's playing is the one i did that to, actually. :)

  • Well, tell Joe that Mr. Clean called and wants his bald head back.

  • holy shit!

  • haha was thinkin the same thing lol

  • Forrest Gump called, he wants his intelligence back.

  • JTs Chops are amazing i would buy this CD infra Blue , i am kind of laughing ,i haven't seen a Bass slung that high scince Paul McCartney and the Early Beatles , i guss thats for chiropractic purposes LoL

  • need some early joey

  • amazing beautiful

  • this guy sounds like a guitar teacher, not an actual musician... sounds half way there musically.

  • well preludio your guitar teachers suck then cause tafolla kicks ass

  • Zzzzz.....

  • Primeiro aprenda a escrever e depois conheca um pouco mais de musica antes de voce ficar falando bosta !!

  • Great player, i just never liked his tone.

  • Joey is an excellent player, if you can't tell that here, hearing Plastic wont help. Collabing with Tony MacAlpine and Paul Gilbert was cool, but in this album I think he found his own style. Plastic is great but is more of a studio only thing I think with all the harmonies and stuff.

  • that solo break at 3:47 to 3:57 or so just stopped me in my tracks.

wait! lets see that a few more hundred times?!?!

    damn thats awesome.

  • Nothings better than the harmony solo with Mark Briody of Jag Panzers "Harder than Steel"

  • wow i didn't know tafolla, it's really nice! a bit more fusion than all those guitar heroes crap, interesting.btw look at his face at 1:34 he's too happy!

  • Yeah! he looks very happy doing what he do, hopefully he would be happy doing what he do today.

  • yeah happy tafolla! xD

but he is great, he really enjoys being there and be playing like hell, thats nice..! gives a good athmosphere, u know^^ xD

  • NO NO NO HelloFromTheGutter, the first part of "satch boogie" make me think to the master piece the SIX STRING SOUFFLE by Mr Tafolla

  • The keyboardist - that could possibly be the gayest haircut i've ever seen in my life.

  • Joey ...the stuff is great blues stuff. we need more stuff!!!!!!!

  • Ok for the dudes that are not impressed by joey's playing check out his new album 'Plastic'!

  • The first part made me think "Satch Boogie", just worse. Anyways, he's one of my least favorite shredders.

  • I was in the audience(front row)..the sound was better live, the video didnt cature it as well. I also have a full recording of the concert...very good playing.

  • I tried to get into this...The keyboards just made it feel too much like a Guitar Institute commercial. Carvin has never made ANY worthwhile gear.

  • Looooooose the keyboard. What happend to the guy I remember fromm 88? This sounds like greg howe.

  • Zero Hour was an amazing tune! Especially with Paul's sick intro.

  • some vibratos sound a bit like G.Howe...and I think it's fantastic(y)

  • Joey is one of the gods in my opinion. His music is so unlike anyone else's. I wonder why they were so reluctant to show the bass player.

  • looks like maybe Mike Mangini

  • he was better as a Yngwie rip-off...

  • is goos, but that guitar sounds horrible..

  • Nice playing! The recording is really clean.Keep it up and post some more.

  • van halen on keyboards lol

  • I second that!

  • please send us more Tafolla videos he is so fantastic

  • I like his stuff, but he doesn't seem very comfortable with it...

  • He's definately not one of the fastest or cleanest out there, but his music makes sense.

  • joey is amazing.. took some lessons from him back in the day.. anyone know when this vid was made?

  • The video was made in 1992

  • O>K> now I see why he's so good!! THNX

  • Cool as hell and where did that drummer come from? Shit

  • The drummer is Deen Castronovo =P

  • the drummer isn't Deen Castronovo
