Its disturbing if it is true that these three singers are now imprisoned by the Chinese. i translated this song about a year ago (A Mental Return),never mind that Jiddo here did not give the credit and is misleading people into thinking that he did the translation.
I translated this out of many songs precissely because it glorifies Tibetan culture and Tibetanness, without denouncing the Chinese, without destroying "ethnic harmony",an act supposedly encouraged by china's leadership!

the chinese firms are making the music not for preserving Tibetan culture, but for their own profit.
Why aren't there Tibetan firms that can make MTV? There aren't because Tibetans are not given the opportunity to learn such skills. His email of the March 13th said that there is restriciton of movement in Lhasa.

Considering the environment we live in (having to live a life surrounded by non-Tibetan people), I think certain degree of assimilation is inevitable. What is important is for us to always remember who we are in our heart of hearts.
Knowing who we are and taking pride in our identity is important not only to keep Tibet alive but also for our own mental health as individuals. When people forget who they are, or when they are ashamed of who they are, there is the risk of developing identity crisis and different types of personality disorders.
As you seem happy in your identity as a Tibetan, there is no need to be ashamed of being assimilated. We all are to some degree and it is inevitable.

Its disturbing if it is true that these three singers are now imprisoned by the Chinese. i translated this song about a year ago (A Mental Return),never mind that Jiddo here did not give the credit and is misleading people into thinking that he did the translation.
I translated this out of many songs precissely because it glorifies Tibetan culture and Tibetanness, without denouncing the Chinese, without destroying "ethnic harmony",an act supposedly encouraged by china's leadership!

There are many singers imprisoned for singing cultural and peace song ie Sherten, Jam Yankyi, Monlam, Drolma Gyab and more.Namkha is in Prison for singing this peace song. He is not political. This dictatorship regime is the worst in whole world. Communist China is the only country that imprisons and execute singer. I have been there for some weeks with some of other supporters. Also there are many of our supporters writing amazing messages to those chinks who are there days and nights and they are paid by the CCP. I think this is the time to show our solidarity and send strong messages to those brainwashed chinks. Why aren't there Tibetan firms that can make MTV? There aren't because Tibetans are not given the opportunity to learn such skills. Even if they have such skills (which is very unlikely), they don't have the capital to start such a firm. This is the result of China's descriminatory policy towards Tibetan.

Tibetans in TAR and neighbouring provinces would not risk their lives to rise up against the Chinese if they are as happy and satisfied as some of the Chinese on the youtube want us to believe.
Instead of posting hate mails here, the Chinese should ask their government to lend a sincere ear to the grievances of the Tibetans. Mutual understanding and respect is the only solution going forth and it is the Chinese government and Chinese people who have the power to bring about that change.

One of my friends is in Lhasa now.
His email of the March 13th said that there is restriciton of movement in Lhasa.
On the 15th he said there was a massive protest on the 14th. Most of the windows of the hotel is shattered. Tourists are confined to their hotel, he doesnst know the extent of the damage. He cant access any news in Japanese or Eng & asked me to update him on the true picture. From the noise and commotion & from what he saw out the hotel window, he fears 4 the worst 4 Tibetans.

According to sources many tibetans are killed in Lhasa, 10 people are killed said chinese official papers. therefore, the numbers can be hundreds since chinese always try to reduce the actual numbers.

On 10th march they couldn't stage any protest because four Chinese military truck full of armed forces were patrolling the monastery. Today the leaders of the county of Zoegey, Ngaba and religious leaders gathered at the monastery for a meeting. While the meeting was going on the monks started protesting again as the Chinese officials tried to stop them.

As a natural reflection of human being, the more you feel lost something, the more you want to keep it. Meiba de yuena sarm, yuba de meiba sao(the thing that you haven't, you want it. The thing you have already owned, you won't cherish it.) It's life. I really try hard to keep cherishing the things left on me about my identity and Tibetan identity, because which help us to keep us who we are. It is important yet, many people didn't realize it. I want to do something for it..

Namook1965 I also like to read yours. I can read a lot of commend that you gave to different singers. I read your translations, too. Thanks, I didn't read the Dog-lee's nonsense these days, but it's fun. Keep your strong identity of being a Tibetan; I like it in your way. I am a little bit assimilated. What a shame!

I am glad you like reading my comments. I too like reading comments and listening to Tibetan music.
Considering the environment we live in (having to live a life surrounded by non-Tibetan people), I think certain degree of assimilation is inevitable. What is important is for us to always remember who we are in our heart of hearts.

Knowing who we are and taking pride in our identity is important not only to keep Tibet alive but also for our own mental health as individuals. When people forget who they are, or when they are ashamed of who they are, there is the risk of developing identity crisis and different types of personality disorders.
As you seem happy in your identity as a Tibetan, there is no need to be ashamed of being assimilated. We all are to some degree and it is inevitable.

I really like the video in this channal. I particularly enjoy sharing the opnion of my Tibetan fellows'. These days, I didn't read anything written by Kangqinba, that's why I feel lost something.
