  • I can see ur trying which is good... But use got to get higher! It a waltz jump and the u spin on the floor, but good for u to try

  • okay i figure skate and im 12 and i landed that jump when i was 10. im working on double axels now its not that hard u just gotta try harder it looks like your trying too hard dont use your arms so much

  • Isn't it amazing how much practice goes into each move learned! Thousands and thousands of tries for each jump! Most people don't realize that. Your position looks good, the principle is there! All jumps are on a circle, perhaps it would help if your back outside edge prior to takeoff was a little more circular? Just a thought, something to try perhaps.

  • @AnneCathrynCushing Thanks for the tip! I'm back to working on it, and I'm determined to finally get it.

  • hi morgail.. it's all right? i see that there aren't any new videos... ^__^ hugs

  • hey there! Thanks for asking. I've had tendinitis in my ankle for several months, which has really messed with my jumps. So I haven't taken any new videos. Hopefully I can get something up soon since it is getting better.

  • i agree with u NCFigure Skater you gotta put more heart in it

to get an axel you gotta eat ice hard

  • sorry but it looks like your not even trying

  • i like ur exercise....;) I will try it to practice too!! thanks for posting ;)

  • Looks like you almost got it!!! I guess it just takes confidence! I wish I could give tips but I haven't started the axel yet

  • umm... just a tip if your gonna do an axel make sure your baldes doesn't do toe picks and your backward crossovers are fast and no toepick because you can't do it because your kinda getting slower and slower... but do this its gonna work because if your doing waltz jump and your crossovers are fast then it's like doing an axel

  • they do look better.. however most of them are just waltz jumps with backspins added to them. you need to jump up more, use your knee to lift up and give you height. also use your arms, bring them back and then through and up, with your leg. also, snap into backspin position MUCH sooner. think UP BACKSPIN LAND. but wow you are doing a wonderful job of jumping straight up and not around like most people(including myself! :P) so major kudos to you for that! just keep working and you'll get it! :)

  • Great advice! Especially about snapping in sooner. Looking at it in this video, I can see I'm taking forever to get into the backspin position. Thank you so much!! haha...my coach told me I'm lazy about really using my arms on this jump;) I have been getting more height lately, but using my arms would definitely help!

  • These have definitly improved a lot!!!

you seem to be doing everything right! I think you just need to really go for it to make that extra rotation, I know that you could definitly get that fully rotated if you just went for it!!! These are looking really good though! Gread job!! :D

  • Thank you:) I think you're right. I've got the technique down...I just have to push it. I can get the full rotation off-ice...so there's no reason I can't on-ice.

  • you are getting closer and closer! keep going on!

  • thanks!! It's hard to be patient.
