So cute!!!! Your a good woman for helping out your man. I'll have to look up some of the stuff you mentioned. I see that you haven't posted any new vids. Sad.
i don't think you have a baby, valley voice at all. I've lived near the valley, and it's way off. You sound mature, and well educated. Ultrakool is an asshole.
Hi from Tampa here. Don't know much about Rochester, but in Tampa there is a large homeless population. We have a small vegetable garden at our home and have found it very useful to employ local homeless men to do some of the harder work, to give us a break from the work. They are usually willing to do it for a reasonalbe price.. We help them out, they help us out.

I was searching around for some composting info and came upon you. Look, don't take this the wrong way, but your presentation needs to be less annoying. Now I'm not trying to be harsh, but the valley girl, baby voice is hard to take after a couple of minutes. The baby voice may have been cute when you were ten, but honey, contemporize. God help you if you still have it when your forty.
haha... so what i actually wanted for feedback was something a little more constructive... like what would you do to make it easier for yourself to be self-reliant? etc. but i've had people tell me they hate my voice from time to time, so it wasn't a shocker. but anyhow we're looking to come out of vid retirement, so if you have any good ideas lemme know.
Yeah, I know. I was just yankin yer chain. I don't 'hate' your voice, btw. I just found it to be annoying at first. I thought you were putting it on to be cutesy or something, but after watching some of your other vids, I see that it's just you. Don't change a thing kiddo, you're doing just fine. You know anything about mole destruction? I have a swiss cheese backyard I'm dealing with. I know they feed on earthworms and beetle grubs, but I don't want to jeopardize my worms with chemicals...
I have a shit-ton of moles, and they don't harm my lawn at all. sure, they make a mounded trail, but it doesn't kill the grass b/c it's mulch-mowed and has a lot of organic matter in the soil.
I love the smell of manure too. so i'd be a perfect neighbour...;-)
Is second time i hear you say how people look at you like yer crazy when you ask for leaves, horse manure. this reaction reminded me of this saying i jotted down yesterday:
In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act., George Orwell
Last year i planted several trees from seed ~ Peach ~ Nectorine ~ Plum ~ Apricot ~ and the hardest an Apple they are all over 5 ft tall now, this spring i will start to espalier all of them to get my garden space back, this will be the first winter that I have planted veggies, all from seed also. thanks for the insperation and cant wait till the next video.
TheUrbanHomesteaders has so far been very interesting, cant wait to here what you do with all of your squash, I have been composting now for a year and a half and your excitment on composting has me wanting to get out there and turn the pile.
Kudos on getting ahold of some more compost materials. What kind of mower do you have, conventional or push mower? I am from the south and we all aren't bad ;) Keep a posting the vids!
Horse manure is great! The burlap wont hurt anything at all, it just gives the critters that break down the compost a better place to live.

its a push mower that we found in the garbage and rehabed. I've been encouraging Ben to make an episode about rehabbing his mower.
