  • Just bought a deluxe stove. Can't wait to get it!

  • Clay pot and a jigsaw. Way better. Way cheaper.

  • this model of RocketStove (1 door) fits perfectly in a 5 gal bucket, along with wood shims, cotton balls/lint wads, and fire starter.

  • i like the extra large kelly ketle

  • That's a nice designed rocket stove.

I like the cast iron attachments.

It would be dumb not to have one, or know how to make one as a survivalist/prepper.

  • Why not just use your grill? Seems like that is all that is anyway.

  • co 2 not good for the earth? gtfoh you misinformed aging dooshbag hippy, i got a grover heavyduty rocket stove btw its waaaaaay better design.

  • Cool hobo stoves. My granddad showed me how to make on. If you do not have the money it IS BETTER to make you own than live without! Paint can efficiency is better than NO efficiency. ;)

  • How much, exactly, do you intend to lug around on your back if shtf? Do you have a place you think you can be safe at forever?!?

  • @worldsurfer72 it's not a portable stove for a bug out unless you have a vehicle

  • Are these made and manufactured in the USA? Or are they made in Commie China like every other god forsaken thing on the planet!

  • Here's a free idea. Two birds one stone. Get rid of the "trash" can concept. Everything you purchase should be dismantled, repurposed. Companies should have to pay for the returnable, recyclable content. Clean the land of pollution and create jobs .

  • preppers buying a stove they need to know how to make...COME ON!!! you need to know how to think on your feet. Use the prep time to figure out how to do things unless you plan to go to the hardware store after TSHTF scenario ...just sayin

  • Good little video. I am over in the Belgian Ardennes , living in a remote area.I have two of these stoves a single door and a double. For me it is the IDEAL survival stove. Free wood , quick, hot and relatively smoke free once up to temp. I wiol be buying two more as back up.

Re , making a stove, been there done that, its ok,, but no way can you make something this good.

  • @frugalboy only a true Prepper would know this, thanks for your comment

  • @frugalboy Considering everything (price, etc) what is your favorite, single or double? Thanks

  • @Gunzshow55312 Hi , I bought the two door model first. You can regulate the heat more and use charcoal. BUT I onlyy use wood and as for regulation, ie simmering, I tend not to bother. So the cheaper one door is more practical in my opinion. cheers.

  • I got the $114 one...haven't used it yet,but will when I camp & when SHTF!!!!

  • Great stuff! Stop by prepperlog com and share your survival/prepper ideas! People can benefit from your ideas there.

  • or you know cut four slits 3/4 of the way down a 4 foot log. then stuff it with bark and light it. since the log burns from the inside out, it can burn for about 6 hours with like an 8 inch diameter log. It makes a perfect cooking surface in the bush.

  • By the way they are not called sticks...in Africa, we call it firewood.

  • I live in a village in Africa, this is the way of life, so nothing much will change then. Leave America and Europe, come to Africa.!

  • i would like to buy 1 this summer, when i catch up with bills...

  • i saw a video how to make one with 2 empty paint cans and a metal clothes hanger alot cheaper than $80

  • @VACOWBOYFAN this is ceramic isulated a little better than a paint can which holds the heat

  • Thank you so much for this video. I saw the Stovetec and companion water pasteurizer - and purchased them within 15 minutes of viewing this video.

This unit, in concert with my SOS Sport Solar Oven, makes for big headway in being prepared for a crisis situation. In fact, you may want to check into a Solar Oven Society Sport Solar Oven (w/reflectors). The SOS is better than the Global Sun Oven (I know, I own both a SOS Sport and a Global Sun Oven).

    All the best to you!

  • Very Cool!

  • How did I miss this video? Their prices are super cheap for such a product

  • @YokoWenis Hoss was keeping it a secret

  • If you aren't handy enough to make your own stove, that seems like a really good price for something that is going to last many many years, good price on the water pasteurizer also

  • dumb question: can they heat a medium sized space like a garage very well?

  • @sabresrule716 I dont think they are really meant for heat, not a large area anyways. Look up wood gasifier stove. You have to have good ventilation if you are going to be burning anything though

  • @sabresrule716 Nope. So, outside use only with them...

Only heat, insulated rocket stoves give off, is out the hole. Won't even warm your hands except same place fire heats cooking utensils.

groverrocketstove(dot)com has a small wood stove I like

  • I really liked that vid, it's something I can have here in suburbia that would make it easy since fuel isn't as abundant. I'll put this on my list of must haves.

  • I made mine out of a 30 pound gas bottle! Easy and free!!

  • I quite literally used mine 2-3 times a day, every day, from April through October this recent growing season while living in a tent on my "homestead" of sorts.

Very reliable dependable resilient awesome stove; sure a homemade version could work out well too, I want to try making one (so I can have a second burner). But I would highly recommend.

Note, I have the mid-level-quality one with the door underneath - VERY handy for air flow, very handy to be able to shut the door on a pile of coals.

  • GREAT VID..thanks for posting!!!

  • awesome... a must have to be put in my budget!!!

  • Your living the simple life bro.

  • @highcountrytimber simpler the better

  • @LivingHistorySchool teach me and when do u feel shtf is comming late 2012

  • Was that Chinese characters I saw? Is this made in china?

  • It's a fancy hobo stove. Google it. You can make one of those out of a coffee can and some rebar if you don't have $80 to spend. The plans will say use wire, but use rebar if you want it to last.

  • Love these stoves, been looking at them for awhile now but haven't ordered. Maybe a Xmas present to myself this year.

  • nice

    certainly a must have

  • I just bought the StoveTec Deluxe today can't wait to try it out...Paula

  • Mmmmmmmm.......looks delicious!

  • Hi I've just purchased a Stove tec but haven't tried it out yet. I've never seen the water purifier before but it's something that I would be interested in. I have a Berkey that would make clean water.

  • Hey Scott, I get that if you were in a stationary situation or you are using a vehicle to haul your equip., how this could be effective, however I am a guy that likes to park my truck and get farther away from it all and hike to my destination. ? Also, being a prepper, if I have to ditch my current location, that would be alot to haul on my back. Any thoughts on what you think would be a good alternative for a nomadic outdoorsman.

  • @Set2Survive you can make them out of large soup cans, but not very efficient

  • @LivingHistorySchool thought you might say that. I already use a large soup can, plastered with firestone powder and water. Its actually very efficient and weighs little more than the can itself. I was just curious if there was a commercial product like this.

  • @Set2Survive the stove they sell is for long term survival, or just for car camping, I mainly use this stove for cooking on the patio at home and camping. They are designed to last for decades.

  • @LivingHistorySchool I powderized some fire bricks and used a combination of water and epoxy to plaster the inside of the can to insulate it. I have had it for at least a couple of yrs and I've put it through the ringer. Works very well and not a scratch on it. I wonder how long mine will last. Only time will tell.

  • @Set2Survive is the can double walled, not sure on epoxy fumes

  • @LivingHistorySchool I did add some flashing as my burn chamber so it goes flashing/firebrick/Large soup can, is that what your asking? I have used it dozens of times and I haven't noticed any fumes just the smell of wood burning.

  • @Set2Survive you should have made a video... thanks for the comments

  • @LivingHistorySchool Didnt think about it at the time. Just made it out of necessity. I may make a video of it in the future, when I get a new vidcam

  • wow good items and well priced

  • If interested in boiling water, look up a kelly kettle.

  • HOW DISAPPOINTING. I WENT TO THE SITE TO BUY A STOVE AND WATER PURIFIER AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO WATER PURIFIER MODELS!

    WHAT'S WITH THAT?

  • @mkmason2002 give them a call.

  • The water purifier isn't available on the website. Not good, as that's a major reason I want to order one of these stoves.

  • @TJ347 give them a call maybe they are out of stock

  • I've seen Rasta man in JA cook like this, But they used an car rim and a dutch pot to make some fire Ital stew. I my opinion you should look at the things you already have around you house and see what else it can be used for. Before spending money on things like this

  • Almost any water can be purified by leaving in the sun for at least 6 hours in a plastic bottle, btw. Neat video; I'd save it for cooking...gotta' get this!

  • @touber2011 most of the year we rarely get 6 hours of "sun" in Oregon

  • @LivingHistorySchool I think you mean western Oregon.

  • @triggerguy1 yes

  • this is brilliant, I've never liked stoves that require liquids, good recommendation!

  • I got the $119 model single door . I LOVE IT!!!! Super fast shipping up to Washington. We burned it for 7 hours. Used nothing but small sticks off our brush pile. These are a must have for any prepper or if you just like camping and not having to transport propane ect.

  • I was considering buying the Deluxe model but found out today the shipping cost to Canada doesn't make it worthwhile. Anyone know of a similar product available up here?

  • Do you think this is better than a wood gas stove?

  • @jkmcdani than a wood or gas stove?

  • My understanding from the video is that the Eco Ceramic and Deluxe models both have the wide mouth combustion chamber. It's only the 2 door one that has a smaller opening.

I'll be getting the Deluxe one door.

  • @baywizard the deluxe has a stainless steel fire chamber I believe

  • I do believe that this is now on my official wish list.

  • @SustenanceNCovering they are nice, I take this car camping instead of my Coleman Stove now

  • @LivingHistorySchool That comment just moved this item up to the top of my wish list. I went to the website and looked at the top of the line one with the cast iron top. Looks like something that would last forever. This is a very good video review of a very fine product. If I get one and like it I'll be making a video as well.

  • @SustenanceNCovering just get the one with the wide door like mine I think it's 75 or 80 dollars which includes the shipping

  • @LivingHistorySchool I take it that you have thought about the more expensive one yourself and have determined that the extra cost isn't worth it. Am I correct?

  • @SustenanceNCovering the other one is for charcoal and the door is smaller so it limits what you can burn, the one I bought can take all kinds of different fuel sizes, and been proven for years

  • @LivingHistorySchool Ahhhh. That wasn't clear to me in the vid. I thought that there was a more heavy duty unit that had a single door. Now I understand.

  • SAVE MONEY, BUY A $10 BUCKET, PUNCH A BUNCH OF HOLES IN IT AND CUT A BIG "U" OUT OF ONE SIDE. ALSO DOUBLES AS A BUCKET TOILET.

SAME THING WHOO HOOOOO.. WHOOPTEE DOOOO

  • @99bugout not the same this one you can use for years and its insulated, you won't get the same btu's out of can/ bucket rocket stove

  • Do you think it could be used to run a presser cooker? If you check out engineer775 he uses a wood gas stove to do so, but it requires batteries which I don't like.

  • @jkmcdani good question.. not sure

  • Water boiling device, look at "Thermette" on google, been around for years

  • @dx80cruiser yes I looked it up it's 110 dollars plus shipping and handling this water boiling device is 48 dollars and free shipping

  • Looks much larger on the website

  • A little bulky and expensive for my needs, but probably works great for the needs of larger groups

  • @HammockerSam yes, it's not for your bug out bag, but tin can rocket stove cans are not going to last for everyday use

  • Very cool stove system. Rocket stoves are very cool since they actually not only burn the wood but the wood gasses making them much more efficient. This is a good system for an in place preparedness system. Not so much a bug out option for a stove, though it does look portable it is a bit heavy and bulky for a pack.

For my pack I have a Ti-Tri caldera volcano stove from Trail Designs. Super light weight, compact, 3 fuel wood/alcohol/esbit.

I might have to pick one of these up though.

  • seems a bit pricey for me , how long do you think it will last , for around $90 i can get a dual fuel coleman . thanks for the info and the video . good hunting y'all be safe

  • @mdw63 you get the economy for 75 and it will last for 6 years of everyday use

  • @mdw63 I have several dual fuels too.. but gas may not be available

  • nice stove! A person can actually make one a little cheaper using a metal paint can and a few other cheap parts....and if someone is looking for a portable "volcano" stove like their water purifier, Ireland has been making them for centuries, called a Kelly Kettle.......

  • Nice system. I do like the water pasteurizer .

  • Hi Scott, just wanted to let you know I am planning a project to purchase these stoves and ship them to Haitti by the end of the month. I will be working with another charity to ship and distribute them. Thanks a lot for the video hopefully several hundred lives will be saved this year thanks to these stoves!

  • @JimboJitsu very nice, please make a response video, they have been providing stoves for years to Haiti and through out the world

  • that's a nice stove, then again, anything allows me to cook out doors is great!

  • @usframe and can use just about any kind of fuel

  • Hey Eugene, Oregon, do you know aaron baker? he is on here

Aaron documented the collapse of his local community, Eugene, Oregon.

    his channel:

    adb024

  • @reefcut yes..thanks

  • Very cool stoves, great stuff. Thanks for showing. Happy Weekend, Sepp

  • wow thanks for doing a video on this..i will be getting the stove and water pasteurizer thanks again

  • @MrPhilliprob hope you enjoy them, they are time tested

  • Wow! Wish I was closer and didn't have to get those shipped. Those prices are mighty fair!

  • @landlockedviking that price includes the shipping

  • @LivingHistorySchool To Canada ! :)

  • @LivingHistorySchool not sure on that, call and ask them

  • Just placed an order for one. Great all-in one for townhouse-prepping and camping. Great review, thanks.

  • @jeffreylane7 you will have fun with it.... post a response video when you get it

  • Belarus is currently undergoing a SHTF scenario. I think the preppers on the net should focus on that. No electricity, high inflation, people fighting on market items, trying to stock up on some food and fulfill basic necesities. We should watch how that situation develops and learn from it.

  • This is kind of like the rocket stove you made a while back out of clay or mud isn't it? Good design. I like it.

  • @rondygal yes it is but this one has years of tested use in foreign countries such as Haiti

  • @LivingHistorySchool I really like it. It looks to me like it is a quality little stove. I think for me, the 1 door design is the best choice. Thank you for taking the time to share this with the rest of us.

  • New subscriber. Great video! Glad I found ya.

  • Awesome video full of great info I have passed along maybe we can get some help in third world countries with this tec...

  • Cool I want one! And the water thing too!!!

  • I really want one but how well will it handle a bug out situation?

  • @texture6 well it not like a back packing stove, fine for car camping and use at your location

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the information and links. Thanks for sharing.

  • Its a dam chinese made screw that!!

  • @RoflmaoAtSheepeople designed here, so is most of what everyone buys... they have a certain type of clay that is really light weight and a porcelain factory kiln

  • nice

  • Thank you !

  • Very nice, thank you for sharing.

  • Very nice compact unit. Even the size of the water pasteurizer is ok considering it can do its job so quickly with the amount of heating surface inside. Decent prices too. Very cool idea. Btw, I noticed on their cooking tips page that someone used a pressure cooker with the two door model and charcoal. Something to think about. Thanks for the vid.

  • sounds like very reasonable prices. i want to get the water pasturizer.

  • neat. now i know what to upgrade my hobo stove with.

  • my camping stove broke this year. was going to buy a fuel style coleman. but i think i will order this instead. THANKS!

  • MMMstovetecdotnet

  • 1.5 gallon water heater you can heat your meal and your water to wash dishes with all at the same time with this device after you eat you can use it to heat water for bathing too. If I were homeless I would have these stoves especially that kettle. If you don't have the money for his you can build your own stove really cheap and use a stove top kettle I get stove top kettles at yard sales all day for $2 if homeless helps to have a thermos too so you can heat water and it will stay hot longer.

  • LivingHistorySchool with another fantastic and useful video! :)

  • I made a rocket stove out of can a piece of pipe and some pearlite I used that device until I burned out the pipe and pearlite started to leak out.If you use the stove like it was intended your stove will last but I use to burn just to watch the metal glow cherry red. The cost to DIY rocket stove was minimal~$20 and I still have the pearlite. I use to burn just to do it I did boil water just to pour it on the fire ants. The ants didn't do so well when boiled.

  • @cdltpx these stove have a guarantee for 6 years at everyday use...has a cast iron top and heat shield... not the same as the do it your self ones... it has the ceramic insulator too

  • @LivingHistorySchool I like the stove it is nice but pricy IMO it should not cost more than a bbq pit. If they can provide for poor @$15 then why should the american version cost over $85? I like the one I made at home too it had ceramic insulator too in the form of pearlite. Pearlite is a great product it is used to transport cryogenics it is the product seperating the interior vessel from the exterior those temperatures are quite frigid H-423.17F . hightec Microwave $35 but a wood stove $85?

  • looks like a durable stove.

  • Do you have a link for where we can buy it?

  • @deepwater1974 I posted a link below the video... thanks

  • good price
