its all about timing, you need to hit the lip for the snap before it feathers over or itll more than likely you throw you off rotation, you want to be coming down with the crashing lip and ride out the foam ball, super minor
come straight up the face and just focus on reentering the wave, make sure to lead with your back hand or else you'll fall back, your shoulders should do the turn, and your legs will follow
