  • josh ritter is a genius with words.

  • I've yet to find a bass line I enjoy more than the one in this song.

  • @puppiesinspace In your opinion. Of course the first thing you need to remember is that your opinion is useless to everyone but yourself. If you don't like the music, don't listen. Then you can enjoy what your hearing and avoid wasting my time.

  • Just when I start to lose hope in today's music, I find Josh Ritter completely by accident. Not only do I love his music, I love how the band seems to have a good time during their performances.

  • The bassline of this song is so great indeed!!

  • Looove this song,,,,

  • Now thats a good bassline!

  • watch the drummers face when he drums

  • @forgotmyusername2 Liam is totally Amazing such a Sweetheart.... and he reminds me of my bro when he drums they both make the same faces...

  • Really, theres just nothing better than this.

  • Just Love this. Can't say it enough. Josh is exuberant! AS always!

  • Is that Pete Townshend rocking along?

  • @decampp Mark Knopfler actually.

  • Best songwriter since Dylan, Drake and Cohen!

  • just heard about this guy today and I like every song better than the last. Not one I don't like so far, which is odd

  • This was how I first heard Josh Ritter and it made my day, because I was just watching "Later...", totally not expecting something this good. Everything about this song is great!

  • @Superterrestrial listen to "The Curse," he played it on NPR which is what brought me here.

  • @will7162 Yeah, I've heard it :P...

  • It's hard to notice anything else after you catch a glimpse of that mustache. It's like the 1950's meets the 1800's meets the 2000's. But I digress, Josh Ritter rocks!

  • @Jbrum90 Zack Hickman, moustache and all, is the shit.

  • outstanding song, excellent live.

  • haha, I love the drummer singing along in the background

  • Good song, bad live.

  • @telemakhos31 to correct you one of the most enjoyable artists to watch live... it's just cause the jules holland show format is, stand there, sing this. how do you make that in any way interesting? the show is the radio 1 of talent

  • @MrFubbels of stiffiling talent

  • Nick Lowe circa 1977 should sue.

  • That bass player would have looked pretty hip in the 1890s. Cool song!

  • hes playin cork for the 4th..cant wait to see him live again!!!!

  • this song is terrific!

  • youtube is part of the biggest censorship conspiracy in the world.

WE FEEL YOUR PAIN KOLINDEVLIN, THEY ARE HATIN' ON YOU.

yo, youtube, quit censoring your user's, itsa policy of tyranny and we demand it to stop!

  • christ, stop arguing semantics and enjoy the music.

  • you don't need that many chords... just look at acdc.. three chords is all you need to write great fucking songs!

  • just to reitterate the great songs few chords argument look at time of your life greenday

  • @kolindevlin without question, the best lyricist within the last two decades, political commentator, if you wish to say he cant play guitar, fair enough, watch interviews, his mantra is he is a songwriter 1st, a story teller second, and a musician 3rd. thin blue flame, a commentary on the bush regime... pure masterclass of the english tongue.

  • @kolindevlin is that 7 more than you?? Josh Ritter is awesome! One of the most critically acclaimed singer-songwriters in the past 10 years. genuine and gracious.

  • its not his ability 2 play the guitar that people admire! it's his voice and his songwriting that is making him famous!

no wonder u didnt enjoy the concert if u wer 2 busy counting how many chords ther was in each song like a retard! rather than listenin 2 the music! the man's a legend and a great performer he's class live!

  • if you appreciate dylan, you would appreciate the work this guy is performing

  • agreed.

  • there's a lot more to good song writing than technical proficiency. I feel bad for the people that can't see that because you're missing out on a lot of great music. A lot of Josh's songs have finely crafted melodies.

  • kolindevlin=tool

  • If he's writing good songs with them, why does it matter? I'd rather have this than some finger-tapping wanker.

  • Its one song, how many are you expecting?

Try listening to the blues. Theres only 3 in the whole industry :)

  • Clearly not. You must have been asleep. And crap as he is its him touring the world, selling records, going on major TV stations, being invited to large political events to perform, becoming famous and making money. While you are.... well you are just there. What have you done?

  • if you judge songs on the amount of chords used you are a fool.

  • @StonewallVH5150 BUT THE SONG & SONGWRITER SUCKS!!!!!

  • @puppiesinspace Fiend.

  • @StonewallVH5150 Agree, Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel!

  • i love how he smiles when he sings.

  • i love this!! a bit of change for him but works well.. he is even better live!

  • yeah me too - was excellent. Great to see him at such a small venue..

  • Saw Josh in Leeds last night, absolutly awesome, best gig ive been to in years.

  • Love this song, has that feel good drivin' sound. I like the E.L.O. sound to this song. He is totally inspired by their sound.

  • Good stuff. Going to see this dude live tonight in the UK, hope he puts on a show...

  • Forget the moustache or the urban slick of Ritter, the coolest thing about this clip is that cool drummer. You either have it or you don't -- and -- he has IT.

  • WOW!!! Love these guys!!!Saw them on Ovation tv, on the Artists Den, they were fabulous!!

Made me smile. Can't wait to see them live!!! Best thing i've heard in a long time.

  • the bass player has an awesom mustache!

  • Absolutely! I saw them live, and it's even more awesome up close! :D

  • i love the way he smiles all through the song

  • thats one funky baseline

  • Josh you are awesome! This is my favorite song by you! You do Moscow,Idaho proud!

  • I saw him four days before this for my birthday in Cork, Ireland and it was wonderful.

    Thanks Alicia! :D

  • Josh Ritter was hilarious on Three's Company.

  • He's looking great for a dead dude ....

  • Hey thanks Doug Rice for doing what you do. I love Josh Ritter's music but don't get enough of it here in New Zealand. It is good to always find your posts to see new clips of Josh and music and news. Cheers for that.

  • wow - and here i was thinking no one else in NZ had heard of him...love his music, always looking forward to see/hear more...might have to try to get him down here for a show....

  • wow x 2 - and here I was thinking no one else in NZ had heard of him. NZ fan club here we are. I'll second a call for a NZ show.

  • Oh, Josh. You never cease to amaze.

  • How about the brass and saxophones!!? The band really seemed to be enjoying the new wrinkle. Josh continues to amaze.

  • Josh Ritter is THE best! It is SUCH a REAL joy to watch him perform, because he's obviously enjoying his work! I recently saw him in Tucson, Arizona, and he knocked my socks off! I saw him when he was touring with Joan Baez a lot of times, and found he's a REAL gent as well! You go Mr. Josh Ritter! Make us happy and share those wondrous gifts you have!

  • brilliant!!!

  • saw him on thursday!! what a guy!!!!
