@puppiesinspace In your opinion. Of course the first thing you need to remember is that your opinion is useless to everyone but yourself. If you don't like the music, don't listen. Then you can enjoy what your hearing and avoid wasting my time.
Just when I start to lose hope in today's music, I find Josh Ritter completely by accident. Not only do I love his music, I love how the band seems to have a good time during their performances.
This was how I first heard Josh Ritter and it made my day, because I was just watching "Later...", totally not expecting something this good. Everything about this song is great!
It's hard to notice anything else after you catch a glimpse of that mustache. It's like the 1950's meets the 1800's meets the 2000's. But I digress, Josh Ritter rocks!
@telemakhos31 to correct you one of the most enjoyable artists to watch live... it's just cause the jules holland show format is, stand there, sing this. how do you make that in any way interesting? the show is the radio 1 of talent
@kolindevlin without question, the best lyricist within the last two decades, political commentator, if you wish to say he cant play guitar, fair enough, watch interviews, his mantra is he is a songwriter 1st, a story teller second, and a musician 3rd. thin blue flame, a commentary on the bush regime... pure masterclass of the english tongue.
@kolindevlin is that 7 more than you?? Josh Ritter is awesome! One of the most critically acclaimed singer-songwriters in the past 10 years. genuine and gracious.
its not his ability 2 play the guitar that people admire! it's his voice and his songwriting that is making him famous!
no wonder u didnt enjoy the concert if u wer 2 busy counting how many chords ther was in each song like a retard! rather than listenin 2 the music! the man's a legend and a great performer he's class live!
there's a lot more to good song writing than technical proficiency. I feel bad for the people that can't see that because you're missing out on a lot of great music. A lot of Josh's songs have finely crafted melodies.
Clearly not. You must have been asleep. And crap as he is its him touring the world, selling records, going on major TV stations, being invited to large political events to perform, becoming famous and making money. While you are.... well you are just there. What have you done?
Forget the moustache or the urban slick of Ritter, the coolest thing about this clip is that cool drummer. You either have it or you don't -- and -- he has IT.
Hey thanks Doug Rice for doing what you do. I love Josh Ritter's music but don't get enough of it here in New Zealand. It is good to always find your posts to see new clips of Josh and music and news. Cheers for that.
wow - and here i was thinking no one else in NZ had heard of him...love his music, always looking forward to see/hear more...might have to try to get him down here for a show....
Josh Ritter is THE best! It is SUCH a REAL joy to watch him perform, because he's obviously enjoying his work! I recently saw him in Tucson, Arizona, and he knocked my socks off! I saw him when he was touring with Joan Baez a lot of times, and found he's a REAL gent as well! You go Mr. Josh Ritter! Make us happy and share those wondrous gifts you have!
josh ritter is a genius with words.
