  • This shows you talent goes on for generation to generation,Absolutlely Beautiful! I love the religious song.

  • They are amazing. They make the people in the movie look like amateurs

  • At least they aren't ashamed of GOD---that's such a wonderful thing and contrary to how most people seem to be nowdays

  • they're an amazing quartet. i was at one of their shows. they're great at wut they do and i hope they do it for as long as they can :)

  • The sisters think their younger brother is obnoxious. Typical sisters.

  • I really love the blending of their voices. they should be famous! like mainstream. but don't be a sellout :)

  • Down to the river to pray- They STOLE that song from the soundtrack of "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" Unbelieveble... they didn't even give the movie a mention.

  • @krsongs The song predates O Brother Where Art Thou- all the songs from that movie existed long before the movie.

  • Are these the great grand-children (von Trap)?

  • these ARE the kids from the whole long bloodline of the original Von Trapp Family - the real one, NOT the production/movie. At least, for sure, I know, that they're proud to have such family, especially their (late) great grandmother, Maria Von Trapp.. KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB!!

  • I'm not all that impressed. Breathy, tentative, no power/soul. Just any 4 kids who can stay in tune really. And their breaths are way too noticeable.

  • Wonderful my daughter wants their music.. which is huge thing for this family. She's never been interested in purchasing any cd's before. She said, and she's 9 ,"They use their voices like instruments. I want to do that too."

  • love it!

  • wow amazing!!!!

  • You know how in the movie Maria was all sweet and nice well on a documentery of the von trapps I guess Maria was a raving bitch and forced the kids to sing.....weird isnt it?

  • @smarty314

Actually...she was! My mother's uncle worked at their home (in VT) and she was so mean and rotten! Her rules were "Servants never go beyond the kitchen" When my mom's uncle died (after MANY years of working there) his property went into probate and was auctioned off and the trapp family was there buying everything. My mom--being family--was only able to get a candle box....the trapp's took everything that legally should have belonged to family!

  • @FallenDragon21 You sound bitter, but don't hold on to your anger. I'm sry to hear this however you can't fault children for what their parents have done. I wish you peace.

  • @FallenDragon21

She had never had a chance to be another person. She was born and risen in a very strict and authocratic country and time. The Austria of the 19th century was an all aristocratic world. There was only the upper and the lower world. Nothing between, no democracy, no human rights (like we know today). The servants are to be the property of the aristocrats with no rights or even a own life. Some of them had to ask their Owner to have children!! Remember of the civil war and slavey.

  • unbelievably A BLOOD LINE that runs for almost a century... :) and passes from generation to generation... :) their music will live forever...

  • such beautiful voices

    makes me join in haha!!

  • yes i'm a cousin XD

  • Amazing

  • Are they REAL Von Traps?

  • Yess, the are the real thing. The eyes have it.

  • @WorldHoldOn100 Yes, they are the REAL Von Trapps :) I've seen them live. They are incredible!

  • I think siblings have such amazing harmony. Their voices are already so similar, that singing together is wonderful.

  • omfg the are so good. im in middle school i go 2 windsor mill and they sang there and were awsome.but it was juss 3 of them (justin, amanda, and the other 1) the oldest wasnt there

  • they do soooooo well!!!! So WELL for their age. omg when i was in HIGHSCHOOL its like pulling teeth to get them to sing hamonies a capella. or in tune for that matter

  • They're not just amazing for their age. They're amazing PERIOD!

  • They're unbelievable singers for any age.

  • OMG THAT was the cutes thing ever! i really want their cd

  • They did so well with The Lonely Goatherd! Like their ancestors.

  • wow, they're incredible

  • are they siblings or cousins??

  • siblings

  • do they have other von trapp cousins??

  • I met them today!! :) they are sooo nice and their mother is sooo sweet.

  • awesome!! thanks for the post.

  • i want their cd!

  • i was there, i saw that live <3 :]

  • Lovely!!

  • Quite amazing to hear the later younger generation singing so well to have taken after and maintain the singing talents of their ancestors the original von Trapp family singers. A good performance by any standard. Thanks.

  • The Lonely Goatheard song comes from the movie and musical the Sound of Music, but wasn't one of the traditional songs sung by the Von Trapps. The original family actually did quite a few old German folk songs, in German, while performing in America.

  • nothing weirder than hearing a bunch of hotties and a boy all in Austrian traditional outfit go southern on you....

love the Alison Krauss version of that song in O'Brother, this is pretty good too.

  • Interesting: Lonely goaheard sounds like the version in SOM... and the actors weren't even Von Trapps!

  • wow...considering that only 1 member of the "grandchildren" generation has really made a career in music...it's good to see that the talent is still there in the family...and the desire to perform :)

the blend of the voices is really terrific...must be something to do with being family

  • Fantastic!

  • First I thought they only want to make money with the name but hell they can do it listen those voices!!!! Wonderful and the Dirndl fit quite well but maybe abit too much

  • Oh my god.

    I have met them! = )

  • Sooo cooool!

    Greez from Austria!!!

    Helga

  • oh god....this is weird how the 'voices' have been passed down!!!!!!!!xxx

  • It's not just that voices are 'passed down' but iIt shows what you can do if you start children early.with musical training. Most people are just singing simple kiddie songs at home, if they sing anything at all.

  • this is weird

  • How gorgeous!

  • perfect harmony and voices! a musical legacy.

  • does the boy even sing?

  • He is singing but he is pre-pubescent so his voice is very feminine sounding and doesn`t stand out

  • He is a boy soprano :-)

  • i am a boy soprano but i'm 13 lol

  • whats the song the sing that has river in it?

  • Down To The River To Pray.

  • thanks :)

  • Yes, the boy who Kurt was to represent in the movie, was their grandfather, so they are the great-grandchildren of Maria. They are excellent. Their A Cappella album is really outstanding.

  • not really,Maria was their stepmother of the first von Trapp children

  • I wonder what people who've never HAD Glory Days reminise about? : ) They probably write books about the secretary of state of the third vice-president's first wife's babby-sitter's uncle. Who HAD glory days. :) Or I could be full of Black Cat Fever :}

  • they put me to shame

  • are they offspring of the Von Trapp family from the famous story?

  • they are the grand children of the family

  • Yes their Grandpa was the Youngest Boy in that story I believe...

  • They are the great grandchildren of Georg von Trapp. Their grandfather (Werner) was portrayed as Kurt in the movie.

  • damn she has a beautiful voice...

  • i saw them perform at the thanksgiving parade in philadelphia

  • i saw them for the philadelhia pop for christmas, they are really old now

  • they would only be 4 years more than what is there no??

  • they all look like grown ups and the boy looks like a teenager

  • Comment removed

  • how old are they now??

  • Probably about 20 now?

  • They have beautiful voices and give memorable performances. I was lucky enough to see them in the roles of their grandparents in a performance of The Sound of Music.

  • my last name is trapp

  • i met them :]

  • there are tears in my eyes, its so beautifull!!

  • my uncle is famous in euroe and met them and their going to myy dads to stay for christmas

  • How cute!

  • I just got back from their performance with Houston Symphony. They are absolutely awsome! Truly memorable evening!

  • that's really awesome, I was planning on going there too. Things however didn't work out. They truly are a treat to see in concert. I have been lucky to seem them 4 times previously so it's all good. Hopefully they will be in Texas more often. Thanks for your comments :)

  • This was my first time to see & listen them "live"!!! I am not the only fan of their music in my family - my grandson did sing "do re me" already at the age of two. There is a video on youtube about it from somegirlinspringtx

  • My mom has seen them perform in concert in our small town in wisconsin and bought two of their cds..and they are sooooo good!

  • how old are they now? Whats the name of there cd?

  • are they the daughters or grandchildren of the actors in the movie of the sound of music or was the movie based oin a true story and these are the daughter or grandchildren fro the real vontrapps

  • no the sound of music is a true story these are the children who it really happened to not the actors, or their relatives

  • but its the great grandchildren of the real people

  • They are the great-grandchildren of Georg and Maria Von Trapp. (The real ones not Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer who were actors who potrayed Maria and Georg.)

  • hu are the con trap children? sum1 hu is famous's children?

  • ever heard of the sound of music (movie)? They're the grandchildren of the family portrayed in the movie. After 3 generations, the family is still very musical, it's an amazing feat

  • when the boys voice changes they are gonna be screwed X) hehehe they are awesome!! :)

  • not really. his voice has already changed and they still sound good.

  • Serious singers who are male can still maintain that high voice. My brain has forgotten what that's called exactly, but I've a friend who's maintained his. And it's gorgeous. ^.^

  • A male with a high soprano is called a counter-tenor. Back in the 1600-1700s they used to "fix" young boys with beautiful voices so their voices would never mature. One such "castrato" was the famous opera singer Farinelli.

  • And there's always the term "falsetto" which is not a true voice, but rather a lighter, but much higher part of the mature male voice.

  • A falsetto is what I use in church choir if there are no tenors (I'm a bass-baritone).

  • exactly. I know what the difference between a counter-tenor and a falsettist is, but how do would you explain that to other people?

  • You could say that a counter-tenor is a trained falsetto; at least, that's how it was explained to me when I was younger.

  • wtf im a trapp thees kids are my famaly hmm iwerd and guys im not joking about this i realy am a von trapp

  • How pleasant!

  • are they all brother and sister?

  • yes

  • I have all but there first CD.

  • I love the song starting at 0:35.

  • amazin singers espesh at just b4 1 min at tht solo!

  • the sound of music!!!

  • They are the great great-grandchildren of Georg Von Trapp. I can't believe they sing so well :)

  • it so rare to find a small group of children capable of doing a capella songs well like this. They even made it through a key change!

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for posting.

  • cool

  • hehehe...pretty song for the family trapps!

  • Hmmmm, exellent song from the family von trapp

well it does if there maria franzisca,i wish

i want to see to her, because i like her!

  • they are really verry verry good!!

  • I have all of their cds and I have to say that they sound MUCH better on the cds than they did hear. They hit the right notes here but they sound soft and breathy.

  • this low quality video really don't do them justice. It's a good example of their amazing vocals. to really enjoy their beautiful voices one needs to see them live.

  • they are really good! they must get of having to wear those clothes though.

  • wow they pulled it off, awesome :D

  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

  • Please dont say this is beautiful and pure. There tone is so airy and pop. Even on the yodeling song. The boy could be saved, but the girls are hopeless. I know people wont like this comment, but these kids need to learn how to sing if they want to call themselves von Trapp. Even if they descended from papa Trapp himself, America has destroyed there voices.

  • wow you must have some seriously messed up ears then my friend. because these kids are awesome, please refrain from negative comments!!!!

  • Call me an elitist, call my ears messed up; I have 25 years of formal vocal training, 10 of that being a catholic chorister. Beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder. It may be beautiful to some, but to me it is not.

  • P.S. search for "Der Lindenbaum" posted by hidencolman for what I feel "von Trapp" should sound like.

  • Hi there lex24boi, I just wanted to say that your comment on their tone being airy is true, they need to work on that but there voices are fairly nice and they seem to have a good ear.

  • well i know what is pure and honest and beautiful, and these young people are just that, they have voices like angels, and they only get better as they get older!!

  • I quite agree with this comment. They've cheapened themselves and sound nothing like their forbears who were so cultured.

  • i was told the last living Von Trapp recently deid. who was it?

  • Werner von Trapp (a.k.a. Kurt). He died in October. But he wasn't the last living von Trapp. Of the 7 original children, his sisters Agathe and Maria F. are still alive, and his half-siblings are also still alive (Rosmarie, Eleanore, and Johannes).

  • What beautiful and pure singing voices!

  • NICE!

  • they have really have a nice voice

  • why would you be insulted by this music. it's good music!!

  • haha my last name is trapp

  • so, I neddle pulling thread

la, a note to follow so... =D

  • do, a deer, a female deer

re, a drop of golden sun... =)

  • Mi, a name I call my self

Fa, a long, long way to ruuun!!!!

  • The Von Trapp Children sang in Hope Valley, RI, several years ago, and they brought along their parents. Justin can make anyone laugh and enjoyed checking out a Von Trapp book with him. They sang on Mother's Day, and the event was a sell out. Even so, they took time to talk to anyone who wanted to ask questions and got to know a little about the people who came to see them, very cool! I still have the CD they all signed for me. Boy, they are growing up!

  • this is so cool... im related to the Von Trapp family line

  • Amazing singers. Thanks for posting, I missed this. They also where on QVC the year before, which I may post.

  • I bought all their music online. Just love it! One of my favorites is "Prayer For Papa" but without the CD liner notes, I can't tell where that song came from. I haven't had any luck online. Is it from a musical or movie? Anyone know?

  • "Producer Chris Stone had written the music to this song for a movie soundtrack, but never had occasion to use it. During the recording sessions which produced this album, Chris' wife, Leslie, a noted poet in her own right, wrote the lyrics. The children are very proud to be responsible for the debut recording of this song."

  • Thanks for replying! It's good to know about the song. I've thought since I heard it that it would make a great song in a musical. Something like A Little Princess. :)

  • i work for chris stone. =) and helped record their album!

  • awesome, ya all did a great job on the Acapella album! I also love the snow album, i can't remember if Chris was invovled with it. thanks for the comments

  • God, this makes me wish I saw them live when they came to Wellington, New Zealand. I didnt have the money at the time, and couldnt borrow it so I had to leave it but a friend did get some some merchindise and a programe, signed by them. Also, from a interview we learnt that Duane Chase, the one who played Kurt in the Sound of Music (with Julie Andrews) is their grandfather or great grandfather.

  • I just saw them live. They were really good!

  • Hey, did you happen to catch the duet of them singing O Come, O Come Emmanuel? It was on this same telecast. It was the best version I have ever heard and I cannot find it anywhere! Not even on their CDs.

  • O Come, O Come Emmanuel is on their Christmas CD.

  • Hey, they're good.

  • aww.... are they adorable!!!

  • I am reading The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria herself...READ IT NOW. But Yes, WOW> It runs in the family! They are truly blessed.

  • Wow.
