I was going for a staff night out tomorrow at Belle Vue, By doing so I am partly funding the track and the industry. I am a dog lover always have been. But when greyhounds stop racing the majority are disposed of in some way. Never thought about it until I saw your post. Now I shall appologise to my work colleagues and dontate to the greyhound protection league instead.
Please share the video with people who are unaware of the cruelty - so they can at least make an informed choice as to whether they want to support greyhound racing.
Dog racing is just as nasty as horse racing. It is time people stopped thinking of these animals as a commodity and realize that they are living, feeling beings who only want to please us. Do they really believe this is how they should treat those who give them loyalty and devotion? If so, I pity their families.
Greyhounds are not only dying on the track chasing a fake rabbit so greedy men can profit, they are being executed once it is determined that are of no further use. In Phoenix a Greyhound is killed the day after he or she fails to "Win, Place or Show” at least once in ten consecutive races, unless someone is there to rescue that greyhound. I adopted a greyhound who survived 2 years at the Phoenix Greyhound Park. He was one of the lucky ones, I adopted him out of Caliente Tijuana 1 year later

and half the dogs on this video are bags dogs who to be fair have to many dogs to give them the attention they need/deserve. therefor if they pick up a niggly injury the trainer will not find it as he/she doesnt have the time to spend on the dogs. So when they are racing they usually favour a side or leg if one side/leg is injured which means they are putting more weight on that side/leg and thats how they get injured. Most dogs that fall are actually ok/

Greyhounds do not instinctively run out of traps, run in circles or chase a mechanical lure - they are intensively schooled and trained to 'perform' as a betting medium.
If you loved your dogs and loved to see them run, you would let them run on a beach or an open field - for their pleasure - not yours.

I've heard the crowd jeering at the dogs when they've lost money for the punters.

If you care for greyhounds and your so called 'sport', you would campaign for straight tracks and the removal of betting on greyhounds.
I would like to point out that they do implement breach of rule 18. You wouldnt know this information as your stuck in your own little green grass world, that if you take a dog of the track and it hasnt ran in 6 months then you get a letter asking if he/she has been retired to stud or retired or is being used as a brood bitch and if this letter is not returned within 3 weeks you are banned from owning another greyhound under GBGB rules
I would like to point out that Joanne Page was caught red handed taking 4 dogs to a Hitchen vet to be destroyed and refused to hand the dogs over to volunteers of a natiional re-homing group who happened to be in the vets at the time - clear breaches of rule 18
She was only CAUTIONED at local level.
I would also like to point out Eve Blanchard had no less than 12 retirement forms sat on her kitchen table for over a year - and still she was allowed to race at Poole.

I can only comment on the kennels in the West Midlands ( Hall green,etc ) every trainers kennels I have been to are better than the way a lot of humans live.. All running dogs now are registered in England and are cared for well..go to any council estate and you will see dogs badly treated. greyhounds make great pets too, and for people to say it is run by " criminals " is a joke..If anyone wants to come to Hall Green and have a look at my dogs I will show you what great condition they are in!

... con't: How many will be injured, needing special attention, expensive surgeries? Will you pay for that? Out of your racing "earnings"? What happens when you get married, have kids? Will you have the time to take care of your injured and older greyhounds? And even if you are an especially caring owner of racing greyhounds, do you see many owners doing the same thing? and half the dogs on this video are bags dogs who to be fair have to many dogs to give them the attention they need/deserve. therefor if they pick up a niggly injury the trainer will not find it as he/she doesnt have the time to spend on the dogs. So when they are racing they usually favour a side or leg if one side/leg is injured which means they are putting more weight on that side/leg and thats how they get injured. Most dogs that fall are actually ok/

Greyhounds do not instinctively run out of traps, run in circles or chase a mechanical lure - they are intensively schooled and trained to 'perform' as a betting medium.
If you loved your dogs and loved to see them run, you would let them run on a beach or an open field - for their pleasure - not yours.

What do i mean about "fixed" i mean operated on like i have just had a bitch operated on. Who sadly broke her hock in a kennel accident. To put her hock back together cost £6000 as it was smashed up that bad. Dogs can break there bones anywhere. Of course I've been to a race track. I've seen the dogs taken out of the vans covered in shit because the dog in the cage above has emptied itself. I've seen the 5 second vet inspection.I've seen the man on the 1st bend waiting to pick up the casualties. I've seen the dogs on parade with not one wagging its tail. I've heard the crowd jeering at the dogs when they've lost money for the punters.

I would like to point out that they do implement breach of rule 18. You wouldnt know this information as your stuck in your own little green grass world, that if you take a dog of the track and it hasnt ran in 6 months then you get a letter asking if he/she has been retired to stud or retired or is being used as a brood bitch and if this letter is not returned within 3 weeks you are banned from owning another greyhound under GBGB rules

I would like to point out that Joanne Page was caught red handed taking 4 dogs to a Hitchen vet to be destroyed and refused to hand the dogs over to volunteers of a natiional re-homing group who happened to be in the vets at the time - clear breaches of rule 18
She was only CAUTIONED at local level.
I would also like to point out Eve Blanchard had no less than 12 retirement forms sat on her kitchen table for over a year - and still she was allowed to race at Poole.

I can only comment on the kennels in the West Midlands ( Hall green,etc ) every trainers kennels I have been to are better than the way a lot of humans live.. All running dogs now are registered in England and are cared for well..go to any council estate and you will see dogs badly treated. greyhounds make great pets too, and for people to say it is run by " criminals " is a joke..If anyone wants to come to Hall Green and have a look at my dogs I will show you what great condition they are in!

Another one who pretends to know all there is to know about the racing "industry"! (I REFUSE to call the abuse of gentle dogs a "sport") After discovering what happens to discarded racers, THIS became MY LIFE, mr metal! All I want for greyhounds is for them to have THEIR life! Not on the terms of money hungry criminals in the industry of racing, but to have a dogs' life, nothing more, nothing less! You must know what they do with them when they don't want to chase... and when they slow down...

So, EVERYONE in greyhound racing does not care for there dogs? Did you know that more than double the amount of injuries actualy accur in horse racing ? dont see you sad fuckers on about that? nope. I have greyhounds and race them and absolutly adore them and if any of them were to be injured they would be fixed and infact i have 3 of them at home with me in my house so to be honest for use to say that EVERYONE in greyhound racing are "selfish money hungry animal abusers" is quite simply lies!

Nobody said everyone! Calm down brockvillechloe! If you watch my first video on my retired racer, you will see that I say that already. But, the clips that greytexploitations shows here DO NOT LIE!!!! If you have greyhounds yourself, you know how fragile that thin skin, those long legs are! YOU KNOW how horrible these accidents are! Good on you for rescuing greys yourself, but you have to agree that the VAST majority are not that lucky! And about horse racing: I am absolutely against that too!

And another thing, brockvillechloe. it says on your profile that you are 25, your position may be typical of the absolute certainty of youth... but humour me, will you? You race greyhounds and you have now 3 living with you. So what happens when the others that you race are injured or get too slow? They will race for at most one other year... Will you take them at home too? Find a good home? OK, then what? The others that you will race, how many will you be able to find good homes for?

... con't: How many will be injured, needing special attention, expensive surgeries? Will you pay for that? Out of your racing "earnings"? What happens when you get married, have kids? Will you have the time to take care of your injured and older greyhounds? And even if you are an especially caring owner of racing greyhounds, do you see many owners doing the same thing? Are we really lying? Or are there things you prefer not to see? You have to agree that the only solution is to stop racing!

Thank you so much for this video, I had no idea that the greyhound racing board did this kind of thing. It must be the same here in North America. These aren't people who love their dogs, no matter what they tell you. These dogs are disposable commodities and all this has to stop!

Sickening to watch but this is the truth about greyhound racing and the horrific injuries these dogs go through and sustain ....thanks for making a very powerful video it says a lot that words cannot .......Greyhound racing is a cruel /evil so called sport and its only concern is MONEY and How Much people can make at the terrible expense of these beautiful dogs ......tony(savegreyhounds)

It just never ceases to amaze me or sicken me what people will do to animals. All fro the price of a bet. Excellent video showing the truth. These people need to be prosecuted. When people no longer attend the races, then they will stop.

Great vid. I'm from the U.S. but the problem is just as bad here. As usual, all sleazy parties who profit from animal exploitation are in bed together, like the whores that they are.
Thanks for spreading the word on this terrible problem. I can't believe idiots still think of dog racing as "entertainment". This evil industry needs to go into History's Dustbin of Bad Ideas, along with gladioator fights and slavery-- and that asshole Lord Lipsey can go suck an egg.

Thank you neka72 for sharing this! I don't know why I had not seen it already, it is 3 weeks old! This is such a strong poignant video! It needs to be seen by EVERYONE!!! I cannot comprehend how anyone with half a brain, could still be in favour of racing greyhounds... The pictures speak for themselves... and what pictures!...
