The potato chip thing wasn't dramatic at all in the manga, the anime made it a bit dramatic by making Light's voice intense here and the dub decided to take it a step or few further. Interesting how it evolved.

It literally just translates to "I'll eat the potato chip." Which is why it isn't as epic, because in Jap, you leave the verb at the end of the sentence. While in English, they had to mix up the sentence to put the verb at the back, so it sounds more spastic now. XD

Brad Swaile is amazing with Light since he beings this deep but calm voice that suits Light since he is bored of this world but stays calm in many situation like Misa being kidnapped and at the end of the shows where like is caught, god I found that great since he brought all Lights emotions in 1 episode I enjoy that indeed but Miyano Mamoru is great with Light

I have to say all voices (sorry for ppl who prefer English over Japanese) but I think 95% of characters in Death Note r better with Japanese since they being more emotion and drama than English and it suits them well BUT their r two ppl in my opinon that r little bit in English then Japanese which r Ryuk and Light. I will start with Ryuk:

1. I think Ryuk is little bit better in English than Jap since he beings a abnormal personalitiy than humans and more of the joyful guy with werid likings.
