why only amercan schools has laptops an such stuff in germany we just have PC from the stone age and such crap not even private schools have something like that... now im depressed
The board the teacher is using is an interactive board. In this case, it is a SMART board. They are very cool and if teachers use them correctly, it really changes lessons and how students engage in the classroom.
Why do they have to confuse kids with words like "congruent"...couldn't she just have said "the same as"? "These 2 sides of the triangle are 'the same as' the ones on the other triangle, so the last side has to be the same too." So much easy for a child to understand...
Then the student is not learning the proper jargon. If they can not speak in the math language, they won't be able to read/study/converse with those who do know it.
@ChaosmanOne well I learnt those words when I was that age. They were taught to us because the curriculum said those words would be in the exam, so these kids probably know what congruent means if it's part of the curriculum.
@ChaosmanOne congruent is a word they teach you around 1st grade in canada in art class lol i dont think there confusing students who are in grade nine because that means there at least 14 or 15 so if they cant comprehend a word so small as congruent with a none complicated deffinition they should be worried cause there probably fail all there spelling tests im sorry but your comment is a joke even an american crack smoker can remember what one fucking word means
It is important to use the word "congruent" because it is part of the math vocabulary that students need to be accustommed to. When triangles are congruent, it means that they have the same size and same shape. Using the expression "the same as" is not incorrect when talking about congruent triangles but is it better to use the math vocabulary.
fucking rich high schools with their smart boards and their chinese teachers... e.e

@ellikennyslove1516
It is not about asian or white power, it is about using the resources efficiently to teach.

@HalbgegessenesHuhn American public schools basically work as follows:
-Govt imposes standardized tests on schools to evaluate them
-Schools focus only on test topics in order to score higher
-Schools score poorly because of this minimalist approach, funding to these schools gets cut
-The media realizes how bad the scores are and people are shocked, govt responds by lowering the standards on the tests and giving more funding
-American children get dumber but have expensive equipment at school

The software being used is Smartnotebook. The graphics/material seen in the video was created by the teacher.
