Takes a lot of FAITH to believe in multiverses, something that is not subject to scrutiny and quantifiable study. Logically contradictory. If you could even "measurably perceive" of another "-verse", it wouldn't be "multi-"... since merely to have access to this alleged other "-verse" would mean that we are not SEPARATE from it but indeed ONE. I wonder how a theoretical physicist deals with this sort of logical conundrum.
Unfortunately, the LISA couldn't take place in 2011 and been postponed to Feb 2012 due to Funding limits -_-, in other words after all the money spent on war and invading other countries, there's no money for Science. Bravo U.S. Bravo.
a white hole- that's a first time i've heard about that it's very interesting to hear about that.. makes you think of everything in such a different way- more so if you get into string theory- and i can't wait to hear or even discover things like what Michio kaku does (and i'm only 15)
Why are physicists like this Professor (!) always try to consume metaphysics? It is like science is misused to explain the why, not the how. The scientists (especially in America) feel so forced to avoid being consumed by creationists, that start to talk about untestable things like multiverses, instead of just doing their job as scientists.
Multiverse theory is not science, it is not testable. Do not explain the why questions, explain the how.Science has no other purpose than that.Except in US.
@mkv1614 If you knew anything about science you'd know you start with a theory and move on from there to the next step. Like Michio said, if what's observed by "Lisa" proves them wrong, they go back to the drawing table. If it confirms their theory, it becomes scientific fact. End of story.
There is a religon about this called GODHOODISM I belive in it makes alot of sense. It supports the idea of god and gods of multiverse, omniverse, and the marcoverse. You sould check it out. Cus im pretty sure most of u are atheist.haha just a joke.
The consistent replacement of supernatural explanations of our world with natural ones proves the religious wrong at every turn. If the religious’ claims were true, scientific inquisition and evidence would be in total agreement with them – not completely opposite as is the case now.
Supernatural “evidence” completely fails to withstand scrutiny. Just weigh the track record of supernatural explanations versus natural explanations.
Just wondering, mirror's reflect light... if you face two mirrors toward each other, and shine a light in one... so you get loads of reflections..., how many reflections of the light do you get in each mirror? Probably nothing to do with this, just an experiment i tried.. Does it go off into infinity if the light is bright enough?
@shaolinfingajab If somehow you could manage to produce enough light energy to go on for an enormous amount of time, (not infinitely, that would not be possible,) it would eventually redshift downwards and start to be seen as infrared radiation.
If the multiverse exists, then where did it come from? since everything requires a cause and every 'thing' was created at one point, it seems inevitable your only conclusion is "everything came from nowhere" perhaps time is an illusion, therefore even if it is eternal, in reality, its only eternal to those within time, other than its something among the rest of true reality which came from nowhere.
But with no laws of physics nothing exists therefore there's nothing to say that "something from nothing" is impossible. Perhaps random events occur with no cause (since anything is possible) and illogical existence springs into existence most often (yet existence were the rules contradict one another and it makes no sense fail to actually come into existence for real, they simply fall back into nothing) only logical existence becomes real, that's why things make sense and there is order.
I think at this rate we WILL see within my lifetime, more and more bits of data (And there already are some) that more and more suggest, if not confirm that we DO live in a multiverse and that our universe is just one of many universes constantly bubbling up from whatever universes bubble up from.
And then that's actually another god of the gaps destroyed too then, if we know where our universe game from. (Again, not a god.)
I am a conservative Roman Catholic Christian and I find Dr. Kaku fascinating. The Bible does NOT explain math or science. We need more people like Dr. Kaku to continue to discover the nature of the Universe and with his great ability to explain those discoveries to non-scientists like me.
They spend billions in theories and projects that turn out to be untrue over a period of time.
I wish these billions of dollars and efforts had gone into the welfare of the existing human race. Scientists can submit and believe in the might of GOD, instead of burning their minds and billions in throwing up new laws and into the space stations.
ALLAH the almighty has revealed about tangible (visible) and intangible (invisible) things around us and in the universe. HE mentions about universes with authority.
HE touched all aspects related to our existence and also revealed complex things in a simple form, that the best of our minds can use as these pointers as food for thought and unlock secrets of life. yet the world around us does not believe in HIS creation.
He referred to Steven Hawking, this must be true :D but we should find out more about our universe in order to find out more about the other ones. this clashes with morgan freeman's show about a Finite edge of the universe in a way, but i think both are very possible
found it funny how there are two idiots, both of which think they are very smart, talking shit in the comments, is it just me or do people really just make them selfs look like idiots by right in youtube videos. i mean how can ye even talk about high end physics in youtube comments, trying to do so makes you look like a dumass, i mean come on lol, to discuss these matters, you need to right papers about 100 pages long.
I'm obsessed with learning the fundamentals of physics. I'm also a die-hard Christian. I believe that while it is truly incredible that science continues to unlock doors that were once baffling, in the end it is all knowledge. We cannot change any of this we can only accept it. Truly startling concepts but it does not prove or disprove God by any means.
@righteousblaze i couldnt disagree more. YES it does prove that there is no GOD, especially the "gods" our species believe in. clearly, god is like a receding pocket, more answers we have, less there is a need for any "GOD". now think bout it, god made adam n eve right? evolution ( science) totally disapprove it. god made earth in 6 days bla bla, cosmology(science) totally disapprove that.. we can go on n on. its pretty clear that our "gods" were invented by ignorants 2000+ yrs ago.
@chinamanspeakenlis I am sorry sir but you are ignorant to a basic Christianity fact. The creation story is nothing more than a story the Jews made up during the babylonian exile to help people deal with the terrible hardship. Now this story, as all Bible stories, was created through divine inspiration but God knows that those people long ago would not grasp the concepts behind creation so the whole genesis thing was created. Ask any Bible scholar and they will tell you the same.
@righteousblaze God made up the whole Genesis thing, due to our ancestors being not quite advanced enough to fathom creation? So we're all stuck with a 'made-up' original sin? Jesus died for our metaphorical sins? Help me, I'm confused.
@chinamanspeakenlis We can never prove or disprove the existence of a God what we can disprove is general idea of what God is some giant old ghost in the sky looking down at Earth. My view of God is that God means literally everything. I don't think God interferes with anything or that God is a he or she or communicated with us like most ppl's view of God.
Existence is infinite you will never find an end to everything. Even if you could travel forever you would simply keep traveling through universe after universe because universes are always being created
y cant religion and science just kiss and make up? just agree that nothing explains everything and that we have so much to learn. stop tryna waste time criticizing and just accept things as we go. man grow the hell up!
@Johnf85 how? science doesn't disprove creation. its not like god would limit his ability to create a single universe. how do we know he didnt set everything in motion, created the laws of physics, and saw the need for evolution for the survival of his creation. i agree that organized religion limits the idea of a GOd to some, but you have to look at it in the sense of how much we can comprehend.
@blackkeyetude religion is a neutral tool. it should never have had anything to do with science in the first place. its about moral living and so on and so forth. its the idiots who got it twisted that fucked everything up
@ekimbro08 you're right, just like how a bombs aren't exactly the fault of science. i believe religion is antiquated though, for science can easily fill the void left by religion in the hearts of believers
@blackkeyetude i could be wrong, but science is factual. morality and logic do not always line up and sometime the ends justifies the means. survival of the fittest is logical. putting ones own needs above others for survival is logical. heart and conscience dont seem to really involve science at all but it is in its own context.
@dragonmate011 Science shouldn't kiss anything of religion. They burnt scientists at the stake for saying the Earth revolves around the sun, and Earth is round etc. Religion has continuously lost against science in every frigging battle. Fuck kissing and making up. Religion is a thing of the past. Time for humanity to move on and evolve!
@QSxFuzionzZ they never actual stated a position on the whole science vs religion thing. i think they were just saying that the back and forth animosity is unnecessary
@PrinceWalter thank you finally someone who understands, also if u do some research, every major religion states that there a multiple universes so go figure
@discgolferbo Really? Try watching "The Universe - Multiverse Parallel Universes (History Channel ®: 2008)" lol. Its really interesting about the M-Theory and parallel universes. If you're into all this stuff, search what i quoted (just copy and paste it into the search bar) and watch it =]
I wish I could be the ruler of an advanced civilization so I could plunder and wage war on various different earths in the Multiverse :D but wait! If the Multiverse exists that would mean that in a different universe I am the emperor of an advanded society and I'm going to universe to universe plundering various earths right now! Good for him.
The main problem we have today in this world, is religion, It is out dated. needs improvement, but how can it be improved?? nobody will dare themselves to make changes to it to enhance it and make it better. I was born Muslim, and Islam by far the most out dated religion of all. If you must translated you must know Arabic. That's the language it was written in. You cannot translate a translation. So stop saying in Quran there are soreh that human mind cannot comprehend . think outside of quran.
"Then he (Allah) rose over the heaven and made it seven heavens."
"And we adorned the lowest heaven with stars".
So this universe which we call space, is only one of seven such universes, but the other universes do not have stars.
Because after the big bang, gas clouds condensed to form stars, and since the lowest heaven was created first, it would naturally have the stars witin it.
Please stop copy and paste Quran translation. Go learn Arabic if you must, then translate Quran word by word. It is only written in Arabic and only a Pure spoken Arab should translate it. It does have a totally different meaning and what they tell you. If there is only one God (Allah) there should have been only one Religious book and that would be Quran.. There should be no Prophet between you and God. God should be felt not through a book but all around you. God does not play dice.
I do know arabic you presumtious twit. You dont know me. And you dont know God. Your arguments are foolish and not coherent. You say God should be felt around us, but all the signs of God are surrounding us, but not many understand the signs. Tell, me then if you can, the signs which relate to male and female in the heavens and the earth and the harmonious interactions of these two if you can? But you cant, and that is why a book is essential.
There is intelligent design in creation nothing is random, from the ecological systems of this world to the solar system and beyond, that is proof. Now where is your "proof" on the contrary?
The Quran also includes scientififc information beyond human comprehension.
It also contains big bang theory, big crunch, multiverse and hundreds of other facts which are contained in a 6th century book. And when you read it, it doesnt sound like a 6th century book eventhough it is, and seems very relevant to ones own life.
Yeah, bullshit. Give me quotes, not just your word.
"He it is who raised the heaven with pillars you can not see." Where does that say anything about gravity? Sounds more like, "God put invisible pillars in the sky, god did it!". You're not really convincing anybody with your stupid dogmatic bullshit religion.
@prepyplotts21 yeah anyway... The point is that if there are plenty of universes we find another of the many stupid theories supported in the Bible or wherever they are hahah.
This is what they have told you from when you were a kid. Religion is nothing but man Made.. Like many other books man made, we also made relgiion because it was needed 2500 + years ago.. Now we are in a different era. you can be as close minded as they tell you, or you can look into sky and believe in God in a different way. There should be no prophet between you and god. If there is only one god. there should have been only one Religion supported by all humans. we only have 11 of them
@Semjaaza Hey, i don't know this guy. So i cannot give you what you're asking for. Now unless YOU know his mindset, i don't think you can say anything either.
@Semjaaza I'm guessing you think you're in the majority. But tell me, which space program set a satellite into space for this crazy crackpot theory? Even if you don't believe it, no one has said anything negative about this theory to my knowledge, and attempting to say how everyone feels and their reasons is boarder-line ego-maniac. You have to come to terms with the fact, that if you can't disprove or prove. Then all you have is speculation and a personal idea.
@Semjaaza It's only not accepted because it's not proven. This goes with any scientific concept. Until it's been proven or dis-proven. Most if not all will have a neutral stance on it. We have a lot to learn about the universe, there's no denying that. So we cannot officially say if this theory is incorrect yet. That's why people still let this theory go around without saying anything.
It's a universe within a universe, within an M&M that's within a dream of a sleeping D-string turtle swimming in a zero-g ocean of stomach acid within star jones stomach!
If you put him, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Stephen Hawking in a small room together and forced them to theorize amongst each other, your head would probably literally explode.
I saw dr. Michio Kaku on discovery science a few times, one of the most fluent English spoken Asian i've ever seen, a great asset to scientific community, I wish he would be my professor :P
@Semjaaza Rob Bryanton (i think that's his name) explains that by the tenth level, all possibilities have their own variant universe. Therefor, the logic you came up with as an example isn't too far from it.
@Semjaaza The sad thing is, if you're talking about multiverse theory. Then somewhere in the multiverse there has to exist a being that can destroy all matter across all dimensions at his/her will. And since there are all possibilities everywhere, then there has to be a negative version of this. Meaning a being that can create all matter across all dimensions. So...this brings us down to the human fact. We don't know if there is a god.
shoulda woulda coulda they have no real idea about this. Why can't they cross. and contact each other. Have they the same point of view as we do. and do they know about it. These other universes
@BoyznGirlz09 We would never know, because we are going in reverse to the universe that would be in reverse to us, to them, we are in reverse and to us, they are in reverse.
This current approach means that ..for example OUR universe and it's black holes are attached to other universes that are born OUTWARDS from our universe's black holes. It's like ''you'' (universe) can give birth to endless ramifications of yourself but you can be Born only once.... Makes perfect sense to me. We have universe-X that has black-holes who send matter into other X1 X2 X3 X4 etc universes.
Church is the dark cabal tried to hide the truth from people...so that they can control people's mindset and possess large amount of weath....greed...
I CANT BELIEVE SIX PEOPLE DIDNT LIKE THIS,WHEN I DID THESE 1 SHROOMS I WAS WATCHING KAKU ON TV AND HIS GREY HAIR WAS SO ASTONISHING/UZZING WISDOM OF TIME AND I ALREADY KNEW WHO THE MAN WAS BUT I REALIZED ILL PROB BELIEVE ANYTHANG THE MAN SAYS,LOL

So stop saying in Quran there are soreh that human mind cannot comprehend . think outside of quran.
cystum 6 months ago
@cystum You can improve religion by improving yourself. Make the change in yourself which you want to see in others.

Multiverse is mentioned in Quran.
Big bang is also mentioned in Quran by Allah.

IMnotSAS 6 months ago
@cystum God once played dice and He throw 3 sixes and the devil was born. Hence the devil's number 666.

There is no God. In any circumstance.
Scientist cant explain at the moment or ever the Multiverse Theory.
People dont have a answer so they come up with a God.
He is the false answer to everything un-explainable.

You cant prove God doesnt exist. Yet i can because there is intelligent design in creation.
IMnotSAS 6 months ago
@IMnotSAS
Ok, well are you gonna prove it to me in detail, or just sit there mumbling because God is a answer for those who dont have a proper one!
FQuee 6 months ago

There is intelligent design in creation nothing is random, from the ecological systems of this world to the solar system and beyond, that is proof. Now where is your "proof" on the contrary?
The Quran also includes scientififc information beyond human comprehension.

Like what?
pbmdh 6 months ago
@pbmdh

Information about such concepts as an opposing force to gravity which keeps the sky above us.

Religion is something to believe in.
People believe in God because they want something to answer there answer's
Also because they dont have a answer for everything so they say God did it.
FQuee 6 months ago
@FQuee

@Semjaaza Tacos. I win, lol.
narutardtedr 7 months ago
@Semjaaza I'm guessing you think you're in the majority. But tell me, which space program set a satellite into space for this crazy crackpot theory? Even if you don't believe it, no one has said anything negative about this theory to my knowledge, and attempting to say how everyone feels and their reasons is boarder-line ego-maniac. You have to come to terms with the fact, that if you can't disprove or prove. Then all you have is speculation and a personal idea.
narutardtedr 7 months ago
@Semjaaza It's only not accepted because it's not proven. This goes with any scientific concept. Until it's been proven or dis-proven. Most if not all will have a neutral stance on it. We have a lot to learn about the universe, there's no denying that. So we cannot officially say if this theory is incorrect yet. That's why people still let this theory go around without saying anything.

@Semjaaza Rob Bryanton (i think that's his name) explains that by the tenth level, all possibilities have their own variant universe. Therefor, the logic you came up with as an example isn't too far from it.
narutardtedr 7 months ago
@Semjaaza The sad thing is, if you're talking about multiverse theory. Then somewhere in the multiverse there has to exist a being that can destroy all matter across all dimensions at his/her will. And since there are all possibilities everywhere, then there has to be a negative version of this. Meaning a being that can create all matter across all dimensions. So...this brings us down to the human fact. We don't know if there is a god.
narutardtedr 7 months ago
shoulda woulda coulda they have no real idea about this. Why can't they cross. and contact each other. Have they the same point of view as we do. and do they know about it. These other universes

*Hubble takes a picture of a dark space in the galaxy*
Scientist 1: It's dark, there's gravity coming from it, let's call it dark matter!
Scientist 2 : Well we don't exactly know what's in there so there must be a parallel universe there!!! I'll call this the Multiverse theory!
Richard Garfield : WTF! I got that copyrighted and I "imagined" that first duh!!!! LMAO

What happens when the universe that feeds our universe runs out of stuff to feed our universe?
nicpetnic 8 months ago
This current approach means that ..for example OUR universe and it's black holes are attached to other universes that are born OUTWARDS from our universe's black holes. It's like ''you'' (universe) can give birth to endless ramifications of yourself but you can be Born only once.... Makes perfect sense to me. We have universe-X that has black-holes who send matter into other X1 X2 X3 X4 etc universes.
