  • Amazingly done. Just for clarification, are you using sutures to seal the wound? If you are, I have to say you barely notice them at all, except for the thin black line they create.

  • @mmascio1 yes, sutures. :)

  • It doesn't look like you got any scars from removing your moles. I have one on my stomach that i tried removing myself but it created raised scarring inside of the mole, so i have to surgically remove it.

With the excision technique, did it leave a flat white scar, or was the scar long, raised and discolored?

Can you describe the scar after your raised mole removal if you had any scarring?

  • @SKINNY15lol unfortunately, moles removed from the body heal poorly in the majority of cases. facial moles that are removed by a qualified and experienced facial plastic surgeon should really not have such an issue. they should be very hard to detect.

  • your much prettier now without the moles i just did a dermabrasion on the side of the forehead and it looks really nasty can't wait until it scabs :P

  • OMG !!! i'm gonna puke

  • wow great vid thanks for putting it on here. glad it was all worth it for you it look's great!

  • @BlushingSG you are welcome!

  • its cancerous i guess

  • @BeautyBeep no just done for cosmetic reasons.

  • great, look great.

  • hey any before pics of her with her moles?

  • @bourneidenty really sorry but no.

  • @samlammd oh...well how big were the original ones in size?

  • @bourneidenty can't recall. it has been a few years but about probably 2 cm or so.

  • @samlammd Sry for the late reply. Care if I make myself clear? I was referring to how big were the moles before the removal?

  • @bourneidenty can't recall. probably a few centimeters in size.

  • @bourneidenty I have a slightly protruded mole on my face, roughly about 0.5cm in diameter...if i have it removed, may I know roughly how big the scar might/will be? Hope that you can provide me with some opinion

  • @bourneidenty the incision typically is 3x the mole diameter so picture a mole on either side of the mole and that should be the length.

    best,

    sml

  • @samlammd So will that be the length of the scar forever? Or it will gradually go smaller abit?

  • @bourneidenty it could contract a little bit but that is the length. the goal for a good mole reduction is to make that scar very very hard to see at normal range. that involves a slightly modified geometric broken line repair to zig zag the line and to do a meticulous closure. also possible dermabrasion afterward is important. all of the aftercare that is involved prohibits me from doing this in someone who is outside of the dallas area. if you are, i'm sorry.

    best,

  • question: i have two beauty marks, one on the skin between my nose and lip (not on my lip) and one on my cheek....i just got the idea that i could get them removed (not for a few years though)...but anyways it looks like at day 6 your lip mole was completely gone, why didnt you just use that process for all three moles? and for a beauty mark would you recommend that process? and would it be worth it?

  • @menimexxmakeup the other ones were too deep. the process would be worth it if you were willing to accept some kind of scar because despite best efforts you will still have a fine line. the question of going to a good facial plastic surgeon is making that line very hard to see over time.

  • I have a couple of those Robert Redford type moles. Is the method for removing those different than the method for the average mole? Thanks.

  • @pjb2773 like anything in life, quality of the procedure is what defines success. i do not see anything as average. if a mole is removed with great care along relaxed skin tension lines in multiple layered closures with careful after care using lasers and injectables plus dermabrasion to manage any scarring, then yes it is like an average mole removal.

  • this video really helped me with my nerves with my removal coming up.

its a total confidence thing! and you look so happy in the last clip!

  • I was wondering if taking off a mole leaves a scar?

  • @beatrizsantillano yes, it does. the trick is to make the incision as barely visible as possible.

  • im getting 3 removed, do people stare at you after you had it removed?and do you have nay tips for faster healing?

  • @hockeynSk8 obviously with incisions it will be obvious. for tips for faster healing, the best thing to do is to ask your physician. in general, however, keeping it moist for the first week is very important.

  • I've read the comments below and would like to know what you would call someone that does procedures like this so I could possible have mine removed in a local area for the after care

  • @mitchellzastey tough to say. either a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist. probably a plastic surgeon would be more ideal but you must talk to the doctor for his philosophy, approach and results to best determine the answer.

  • hi doc, i actually have a mole on my lower lip and its close to my lower lip and you said it is easier to take off if the mole is on the lower lip. i live in los angeles but i am very impressed and would like to move out to Plano for 6 months to do this surgery, i really want to do this. i also have a cindy crawford mole i want to remove lol i always notice people looking at my moles when i talk to them and i have to grow a mustache and lower lip hair to kinda cover them. hope we meet soon.

  • @INQUISITOR323 yes that is correct. i don't think you need to move out here for that. send me a photo so that i can see its location to drlam at lamfacialplastics [dot com].

  • @jamessong91 :)

  • @jamessong91 mole prices vary considerably. i have been asked by my staff not to post prices here. plus if you don't live in dallas, i won't do your mole removal because of all the after care needed.

  • Question- did you have deep moles and were they excised? Or were they just burned and lasered off?

  • @BPalla these were excised because they were deep.

  • You are brave. What a long healing process!

  • thanks for the video, I'm doing some research since I want to get my moles in the face removed. I'm trying to figure out which procedures are better for removing the moles completely without leaving any roots (because I don't really care about the pain, I do care about the results). I am not going to do it with this doctor however, since I'm in Argentina :S

  • how much does it usually cost to remove a mole?

  • Comment removed

  • 2 things:

    1. i do not perform any mole removals in people that do not live in the dallas metroplex area because there is too much aftercare to make it perfect.

    2. i have been asked no longer to post prices. you need to email info at lamfacialplastics [dot com] IF YOU LIVE IN DALLAS.

i simply do not want to take care of mole patients from outside of dallas because being a perfectionist i cannot predict how many trips it will take for me to make it look as good as i would like it to look.

  • did the one on your upper lip come back? I know you burnt it off but how long did it take to heal and not be noticeble. Was the mole sticking out or flat? thanks

  • the mole on the upper lip did not come back. it was sticking out. it took several weeks to look pretty good but several months to entirely fade.

  • Okay, well I'm getting it done in the same spot during school. If I take two weeks off and then just cover it up will it be that obvious? Is burning and cutting it off have the same recovery time? thanks

  • in general, burning is a lot less.

  • Did it hurt? Also, is it dangerous to remove it from the head?

  • no it does not hurt and it is not dangerous if done right.

  • i'm a med student and thinking of being a surgeant. i could say the locations of your moles are really dangerous. good job for your doc

  • thanks.

  • surgeant ? Doubtful as you can't even spell surgeon properly. There is nothing 'dangerous' about the placement of these moles

  • sorry for my english, i mistake that word with sergeant i guess. well i'm not a surgeon as i said before and i told my opinions

  • I would like to know the cost for the 3 moles removal? how much extra was for the dermabrasion?

  • one thing is that i do not remove moles from anyone who lives outside of dallas. the reason is that i believe that excellent mole removal is as much to do with good surgical technique as diligent after care including dermabrasion, laser, 5-FU for scarring, etc., all of which I include in the price of a mole removal. If you live in Dallas the you can contact marcy at lamfacialplastics [dot com] for pricing info.

  • Hi there. I had 3 moles on my face removed and my doctor did a very poor job. I was left with 3 divits on my face and feel pretty bad about it now. Do you think the dermabrasion helped alot for you? Maybe I should consider that. I had went to another doc and got Juvederm and that didn't help cause the 1st doc cut way too deep. Any advice you could give me would be great. SO far your moles and the fact you had 3 removed really remind me of myself.

  • moles

  • THANK YOU! You are brave, I had a mole I wanted to remove but it wasnt covered threw insurance. I had been doing research for 2 years and in feb I decided to try a product called "wart mole vanish" Its a herbal remide that is applied for 20mins and then in a couple of weeks the solution eats the roots of the mole and it scabs up and falls off! Well mine left a SCAR its bitter sweet. I just wanted to say it looks good and thank you for sharing your experience. I will try to post pics and videos

  • may i ask u 4 the name of that product...would like to remove mine on left cheek and forehead..if u dont mind...thx

  • Wow she healed pretty fast!

My plastic surgeon said it might take 2-3 years for the scar to fade away. Does it really take that long? I haven't done it yet but I am having second thoughts because 2 years is a long time to wait!

  • yes, it can take a long time. i usually say a year or more.

  • i had a mole removed in 6th grade and i'm in 9th grade now and the scar sucks, it's freakin huge, scars don't always fade, so be aware of that

  • Is the scar worth it? or you would just leave the mole the way it was?

  • my mole was pretty big and it was on my face so, i got tired of being made fun of, and i'd say it was worth it, i'd find a better surgon if i did it again though. definitly do some research before you get some plastic surgery. It depends on how comfortable you are with your looks

  • I have a mole on the centre of my chin which isnt particularly big, around 5mm in diameter and it does stick out around 1mm or so. I am seriously considering having it removed and i just have a couple of questions. Could you say from that what method would be most likely used? How long would i need to wear a dressing on the area? and does the scar ever completely go? if so how long on average? and how long before it becomes un noticable to a passer by? quite a few questions there sorry :S thanks

  • Could you say from that what method would be most likely used? EXCISION OF IT. LOOK AT MY MOLE REMOVAL SECTION OF MY WEBSITE LAMFACIALPLASTICS. How long would i need to wear a dressing on the area? IF I DID IT, YOU WOULDN'T. and does the scar ever completely go? NO. YOU WILL HAVE A LINE BUT HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE HARD TO SEE. if so how long on average? COULD BE VISIBLE FOR MONTHS TO A YEAR. and how long before it becomes un noticable to a passer by? HARD TO SAY. DEPENDS ON HOW YOU HEAL.

  • how long did it take you for the one in the lip?

  • the lip healed fast. probably a couple of weeks. when there is no incision, things heal much faster.
