Tourettes doesn't necessarily have to show ticks. I have a somewhat mild tourette and the ticks used to be vocal when I was 5 years old (only lasted about 3 months and grew out of it until recently, it resurfaced..i know, it's weird)but now I don't show them because I have learned to suppress them with experience. The ticks only happen in my head now. And I curse with a pillow over my mouth when I get home to release the tension buildup in the form of "cussing" :)
