Thank you for taking this video for those of us who used to call Windsor home. I am watching from New Hampshire and I can't believe this happened. My mom and dad are buried at Lakeview cemetary and to hear your comments about the cemetary was hard. I hope a pray all is well and you recover from this. Again thank you for sharing during your obvious hardship.
One of the churches from Johnstown came and cleaned up the cemetery to make sure it was ready for Memorial Day. There was an article in the Johnstown Breeze about it.
WOW! the Internet is amazing. I live in Loveland just 6 east miles from there. All day I was listening to the scanner and skywarn on the ham bands. Pretty scary hearing police and spotters report funnel clouds all over.
This tornado was very odd and early in the season. The winds too! Everything was moving northwest.
It is remarkable there were no other casualties other than the guy at a camp ground.
Best regards and hope for a very speedy rebuild of Windosr.
It's encouraging to hear about the people working together to clean things up. I've always been a little worried about some people in Northern Colorado. They seem to care only about their house, how big or beautiful it needs to be and to keep up with the Jones. Now, maybe this will change their perspective on what is important
This is not typical of Weld County. I've lived in Weld my whole life and I don't ever remember anything like this. Only F2 damage? You must be joking. Tornados like this don't usually happen this close to the mountains.
All the news/weather reporters are commenting on how rare and unique this 3/4mile wide "wedge" tornado was. They don't often happen so close to the mountains, either.
I'm so sorry this happened to you, but glad you're okay. I'm from Johnstown (13 1/2 hours without power and counting--Xcel's reporting that the power for Johnstown-Milliken-Gilcrest has to be "rebuilt" from the ground up.

Not bad.. Only F2 damage. Typical of Weld County though, tornadoes go with the territory.
