I could like to see them made again, but with electric engines, like the ones in the movie Gattaca. Their futuristic look really fits the electric hum.

@Tonin41992 : Compare ce qui est comparable : les Smart et les Clio sont très loin d'avoir le charme de la DS mais il faut avoir connu cette voiture pour comprendre.
@Truculus000 tu ne m'as pas compris: je voulais dire que le prix exst ridicule, je pensais que cette sublime voiture valais dans des dizaines de milliers d'euro voire plus; alors que son prix est celui d'une voiture "low cost". j'en reste coi. Ne t'inquiète pas, jamais je n'oserais dire qu'une clio ou même qu'une smart serait mieux qu'une DS; pour moi c'est la meilleure et surtout la plus belle voiture au monde. J'espère que je t'ai rassuré quant à mon opinion sur cette voiture et son prix....

Many years ago, when French cars were sold in the US, they were not that popular. Very few people understood the Citroen D. I think French cars are wonderful and prefer them to German cars.
The bigger thing is the effect of this worldwide economic adjustment. Will every car maker survive? People are not buying as many cars as before. The world's oil supply is running out, and cars account for a lot of pollution. The future looks very interesting. I hope FIAT, Subaru, Peugeot, Citroen, and VW survive. They are the most creative car makers and make clever, interesting cars.

Two, the US govt began to make car regulations for bumper height and strength, smog control, and other things.The carmakers had to change the cars to meet regulations, and that costs a lot of money. If they were selling only a small number of cars, it wasn't worth it to modify them just for the US. So they left the US. It's all a matter of money and sales numbers.

Huh? As far as I know the DS was quite a good seller, for its class and its time!
Don't forget, it's quite a luxury car and it was launched in 1955, a time most Europeans still couldn't afford a car.
