I got a swift vdi, and many of my friends hold the same car..everything is good in swift other than suspension and brake control..braking during the rain is too worst in swift even at low speeds. I think the Tyre size to run good with mileage is the reason for all this hassle.
The Dzire is not the most liked car around. It looks bad in the boot and performance wise is ok. The linea is doing great right now. But Manza is the most talked abt car and is eating into the sales of other 2.
Maruti Dzire brakes actually dont work well.. but if u get the disc pads and drum pads clean after every 5000 kms service then actually it works preety well. N LDI or VDI models comes with thin motorcycle tyres. The perfect size for this car is 195/65 R15 MICHELIN recomended. Praveen due to dust and water the pads develop the thin layer which dont let friction take place and breaks dont work well so get them cleaned @ every service. Reply me back after u get these things done...
My car was the fourth car that has been delivered after its launch in Hyderabad. It was just 10 days old from its launch date and did only 1200km by the time accident occurred and I think no one will expect that his brand new car will have only one working brake. Having good tyres is not enough, also braking system should work well.
I thank you very much for you suggestions but now the car is not with me. after a week long fight, Maruthi has agreed to take back the car and pay me my money.
On careful obsevation of photos, you'll find that only one barke of all four was working well at normal application of barkes. It so happen, when a truck has come in to my lane all of a sudden, the barkes din't work with normal force due to which it happend me to slam the barkes as hard as I can. This has locked the tyres and led to skiding. If all four barkes were working properlly I would have not needed to slam the barkes.

I suggest you to upgrade your car tyres to size that are on ZDI. and go for Michellin brand.

now is that the fault of the car? did the breaks lock? or is it the driver, that slamed the breaks as hard as he could, and started so skid?
